Does fiction often portray ninjas in an inaccurate way?

  • That ninja's gonna buy it.

A ninja is someone who hides in the shadows, performs the duty of his office, then gets out. He does not engage in massed combat, nor travel in broad daylight unless in disguise and has a backup ready. The samurai would roflstomp a lone ninja if only by being armored.
