Does the U.S. need to do more about rising female mortality rates?

  • Yes, America does.

We as Americans need to address this mortality rate right now. There's no time to wait. One of the reasons this is happening is because of the lack of affordable or accessible healthcare in the conservative states. Couple that with a lack of exercise, stress, and poor diet and we have a real problem on our hands. Free healthcare for all. Cheaper nutrition. No more junk subsidies.

  • Yes, the U.S. needs to be a leader among women's issues.

The U.S. Needs to do a lot more about rising female mortality rates, and should be a leader among women's issues. I'm a firm believer that a country is only as healthy and productive as its women, since women are the catalyst behind all things good, including men, so doing this should be a high priority.

  • Yes, more research is needed.

I saw the articles in the Washington Post and on MSNBC that may have led to this question. It seems like neither of these articles could say why this increase in female mortality rates has happened, and why it is only impacting females and not males. The increase is significant though and it is important that the US looks into the reasons behind this. All that can really be done at this point is more research. Once the cause has been clearly identified, further actions, if needed, can be discussed.

  • No, what can they do?

There is not really anything the U.S. can do about it, except maybe give women training on how to use firearms. Criminals break laws and making new laws doesn't work because criminals don't obey laws. If this question is not referring to crime, then also no because it has no business doing so.
