Free Trade Area of the Americas: Should countries in the Americas agree to the FTAA?

  • FTAA might help consumer and business

I think it would be a fanstastic Idea if countries in the America agree to free trade, simple because it would help all of the countries in America to bring down the cost of durable good. For Instance goods from brazil might be cheaper then good in United state, and United state might have something that other countries can use.

  • Free trade is codeword for corporations

The Americas, especially not Latin America, should not agree with the FTAA. The FTAA is simply an attempt to make a NAFTA style "free trade" agreement for the entire Americas, and various governments in Latin America and millions in the region have every reason to be against the FTAA, as it is simply a way for American corporations to have even more control over their political systems.
