  • They have their own award

Ok, so pitcher have the Cy Young award for pitchers, and for batters there is the Hank Aaron award and the silver sluggers which are given to the best power hitter from each position. The MVP can currently go to whichever player has made the highest contribution to their team, pitcher or hitter. The problem is that there is no award that goes to the best hitter in the league, there is only one for the best pitcher and best player. If a Pitcher wins the MVP, they will also win the Cy young so they have won the two top awards when it's only possible for the hitters to win one. I say, either give the hitters an award for best one overall, or only allow hitters to win the MVP.
