  • Humility is a good lesson.

    Humility, although embarrassing at the time, is a good lesson for everyone to learn. Humility teaches us to become humble. It teaches us not to be so quick to judge other people. Humility teaches us how to empathize. Humility is never a fun thing for anyone to experience but it is essential in building character.

  • Some but not all cases

    The pursuit of certain ideals and morals is important, and has definitely led to important gains in human history, but not the driving force. Wars and policies throughout history have largely been based on these facts - but advancement in the lives of the average person has largely been the product of capitalist self interest.
