An income tax is fine, although we would all prefer that it be abolished. However, realistically it can not be abolished. However, it can be made more fair. A flat rate that is not very big but that is applied equally to all from the poor to the very rich with no loopholes for them would bring in enough revenue.
I believe the income tax is a fair and effective way for the government to collect revenue. The government creates the proper set of laws, regulations and the overall positive environment in which businesses operate and citizens earn money through them. It is thus fair for citizens to pay the government to continue to operate and maintain the infrastructure necessary for businesses to operate.
Income tax is a tax in which a portion of one's money is taken by the government after a portion of time. Therefore, the more you make, the more you lose. Because of this, people are discouraged to make a lot of money (which is usually earned by working hard or getting a well paying job). You may say abolishing income tax will hurt our governments budget, but the government's spending is not very efficient anyway. If we raise sales tax along with abolishing income tax, people will work harder to pay for more expensive items. This will help the economy greatly.
Income Tax is tax that is a portion of what someone earns over a period of time. Therefore, the more you make, the more you lose. This discourages working because of this tax. Abolishing Income tax and raising sales tax would be an excellent idea because it would encourage the average American person to make more money to spend on more expensive items. This will help the American workforce and help the economy a lot.
