  • Feminism is trying to be Egalitarianism:

Feminism has drastically changed since its roots in the early 20th Century. It has transformed from a fight for women's rights, to a fight for gender equality.

This is where the hypocrisy lies. Take the definition of Feminism and put it next to the definition of egalitarianism...

"Feminism is a collection of movements and ideologies aimed at defining, establishing, and defending equal political, economic, cultural, and social rights for women." - Wikipedia

"Egalitarianism (from French égal, meaning "equal")—or, rarely, equalitarianism[1][2]—is a trend of thought that favors equality for all people." - Wikipedia

The modern definition of feminism (one we see reiterated time and again on these topics, and in any debate regarding sexism and Feminism) is in fact the definition for egalitarianism.

The fact the word Feminism is gender specific is what makes it hypocritical when used in conjunction with the modern definition. It alienates men, and whether intentional or not, makes them out to be the problem.

This is why we should abandon the term Feminism and adopt the term Egalitarianism. This will be a word a lot of men will find easier to get on board with, it will be a word that promotes unity of all people.

  • On many levels..

Feminism is an intellectual hoax; there is a scientific basis for the inequality between men and women in many different spheres and they will always remain physically weaker, lag behind in the sciences, and you cannot overcome the biological realities of this no matter what type of ideological fantasy you construct. Only a radical form of egalitarianism can lead people into such absurdities and you have disregard science entirely hence the feminist assault on science and reason by calling Issac Newton's 'Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy' the "male rape (science) of the female (nature)" or likening Beethoven's 9th to the "throttling of a rapist." The hypocrisy is evident when you consider humorist P.J. O'Rourke's remark that if men and women are equal "when do I get to punch Hillary in the face."

  • So many double standards...

Male has drunk sex - rapist. Female has drunk sex - rape victim.

Female Genital Mutilation is terrible. Male Circumcision is.

Also, if soft porn magazines made specifically for men are bad, so are naked protests in full view of children. If all men are sexist, then is it OK to completely ignore all male opinions on the matter?

If you want equal job opportunities, I would like to see female sewage workers and bin collectors as well.

  • Feminism is Hypocrytical

What exactly, I wonder, do feminist fight for? What freedoms do you not already posses? The answer, there are none. Women have had equality in this country for decades now. What more do you want? Do you want all HS football teams to be coed? Do you want to make sure all companies have at least 50% women as employees? Do you not see that there are differences in the sexes. No matter how loud you scream, this will remain a fact. The different genders are better at different things, this has been scientifically proven in many observations and experiments. For all of you that say "feminism is not something that tries to give women power over men but is something that will give women equality", you do not understand your own cause. Women already have freedom, they already posses equality. I want you to give me at least one example that outlines female inequality from these past 10 year. The whole point of feminism is for power hungry women that think they can cry and scream their way to success just because of their gender; at least that is the case in a country like the U.S.A. Feminism is a sad, pathetic cause.

  • Most of the time feminism is

They talk about "equality" yet they go out and attack men and say we "enslave" women. Then they continue to hold parades claiming how bad men are and how men shouldn't even marry women sometimes because we will enslave them. Most claim masturbating to women is a form of rape, which it isn't.

  • Marxist Feminism alive and well

Feminists tirelessly campaign for the removal of white males from all positions of authority and leadership - does this sound like a purge of the bourgeoisie?

Feminists blame the white male for all societal ills, Defining them as perpetrators while holding them responsible for creating a depraved rape culture - does this sound like propaganda?

Feminists call for the restriction basic freedoms such as employment opportunities and basic freedom of speech. They wish to remove white males from corporate leadership, Government, Technology, Industry and journalism - does this sound like seizing the means of production?

Feminists want to see the population of white males reduced while further oppressing their status in society - does this sound like a form of ethnic cleansing?

Feminists call for a classless society by socialist rule - does this sound like communism?

    You decide.

  • Feminism has changed

Feminism is a good thing when you are talking about equal pay and voting rights. But when it comes to people talking like, “the future is female”, That’s not right. Do you want boys growing up being taught that women are stronger? They should be brought up being taught as equals. Feminism is good until taken to levels where women are putting themselves over men and calling themselves oppressed by men.

  • They won't admit that women have more rites

Like not expected to pay for an date
also to not be drafted and also be more likely to get child cost the wage gape is a lie men get payed more because they work longer. Plus if feminism was about equality than why arnet thy outraged by the fact that men have to sign a draft paper to vote and to get a drversi license

  • If men oppresses women than why do men die more at work

If men had it easy Dan why were they drafted in ww1, Ww2 and the Vietnam war and they say all men are murderers and abusers on top of that they say this on a t-shirt is not sexists girls are smarter but this is boys will be boys is

  • It definitely is.

Now a days, "equality" means to change jeans to skirts on traffic lights and to protest insignificant things like AC, men sitting comfortably, and the gender of make believe comic book characters. THIS ISNT EQUALITY! This is a bunch of spoiled babies throwing fits over insignificant stuff and calling it sexist in order to establish female dominance.

  • No double standards in equality

Feminism is ultimately one of the most important movements in not only american history, but world history. It is the idea that, if a women has the same set of skills and works the same job/hours as a man, she should be payed as equally, its the idea that if a women falls victim to rape, she should not be blamed for her rapist's actions, it's the idea that if a woman doesn't want to be pregnant, she shouldn't have to be.

Ultimately it's the idea that women should have all the same rights to their bodies, life choices, and education as men have. The only men who feminists go out and "attack" are men who's policies/governing hurt women.

  • There are two types of feminism.

One is the one you should listen to. Those who just want equality.
The other type should just go away. Those who think "Women rule the world #allmenmustdie." THEY are the hypocritical ones. Just ignore them. :) They aren't worth the time. Find the ones who know how the heck you talk equality.

  • Feminism is misunderstood.

Feminism, does not give women power over men.
Feminism is supposed to make things equal, and balanced.
So, both genders have their fair share of rights and responsibilities.
What you see on tumblr is not true feminism.
    Those are teenage girls, over-reacting.
Women are under-privileged in many countries. And, for a long time men have had power over them. In some places, they still do!
I know, it's wrong for women to be fighting fire with fire, and to be treating men the same way they might have treated them some time ago, so let's stop calling it feminism.
Let's use the proper term for it.
    Equality.
There are no double standards when it comes to equality.

  • No, it's not

Feminism is the belief that females and males are equal. Some feminists can be hypocritical, or course, but there is nothing wrong with the idea of it. And while you could say that women today in first world countries don't see as much oppression, it definitely isn't t totally even either. And some other countries still have just as bad.

  • No it isn't.

Of course I'm not stupid, there are some feminists out there that say that they hate men. However they are in the minority. That's like saying the word 'homophobes' and the word 'Christian' is synonymous. They're not and it's wrong to say that.

The feminists that say those kind of things are radicals, and in a sense I cannot blame them, however the majority of feminists are wanting gender equality now because that's what this new society stands for. Of course feminism is different to how it was 200 years ago. Society 200 years ago was very white focused and women were clearly oppressed, but even then people tried to say how hypocritical and unjustified women were in asking for equal rights.

No social movement or social justice campaign is perfect. There are always going to be faults within the the works and those eager to pick them out. Of course picking them out can be a good thing because sometimes there are faults that even feminists themselves recognize need to be fixed.

Like I mentioned before, feminism 200 years ago was very white, middle-class women orientated, and has now changed to be much more inclusive. And by inclusive I mean it includes women of colour, disabled women, people a part of the LGBTQ community and every other historically oppressed figures in society. It may not be always very good at including these people, but it's trying - which is a lot more than other movements are doing these days.

The fact that people are saying that feminism has gone from wanting rights for women to wanting equality is hypocritical - it isn't. Society is ready for that leap and it was not 200 years ago. That's because 200 years ago, women were oppressed severely - it's that whole 'one step at a time thing'. And now that women have more rights, it's now time to focus on other things that we can do for all the different kinds of women in our society. And it just so happens that these changes also benefit men. Rights for women and gender equality are exactly the same thing. Men are raised high, and feminists just want to bring women up to the same level and raise both even higher - because getting rid of gender stereotypes in society will advance us as a species.

  • I am a man and feminist what about that?

Those who argue that the problem is in the name are the hypocrites, because look we call all the human beings 'human', the name itself carries 'man', but do we go back to the history and try to change that? No! Feminism today in many developed countries striving to achieve equal rights, in some cases feminists fight for men too (LGBT population), and being a Muslim I have seen mostly feminist stand up against the injustice that is done to the Muslim women and even men. Plus let's not forget in some parts of the world there are still child marriages taking place, women are beaten to the death forget even equal payment, they barely have right to work anywhere. I think before calling feminism hypocritical we have many issues to fix in our society. Once I understood feminism, each day I noticed in smallest details injustice that are being done to women, details none of would even notice. Until all that comes to an end, fight for feminism should continue.

  • Modern feminism is Hypocritical

It is because feminists are encouraging hate toward men by presenting fake facts like for ex wage gap it does not exist yet feminists have make it a serious issue if women are paid less for same job then why companies hire only women wont it increase their net profit??? Also wage gap is basically difference b/w average salty of men and women it does not take account in qualification quantity of work done and absence taken.

  • No, it's not.

People like to take the most extreme groups, (no matter how small compared to the whole), and judge the entire group based on this easy, obvious example.

Some crazy nutjob shouts about how all men should be castrated because we're evil, and then aligns herself as a feminist. She isn't.

We consider the people who go on radical rants about race, gender, or politics to be the exception... Except for the groups we don't like already.

When someone is radical then, we just try to make them the poster-child.

  • No, of course not:

There is nothing hypocritical about the civil rights movement for females. Almost all of the assertions that there is relate directly to quotes instead of actions and unsubstantiated accusations instead of general knowledge or behavior. In essence the core argument that there is some form of inconsistency rests entirely on the idea that there is because there isn't a uniformity to the subject however there is no uniformity to any form of political or philosophical discourse relating to human rights and societal progression.
