Is it acceptable for a Bishop to be openly gay?

Asked by: Zourida
  • Why wouldn't it be?

Now, I'm not the best at religion, but I don't see a real problem with it. If I'm correct, God/Jesus/the higher power you believe in doesn't have a problem with homoosexuality itself, but the act of fornication between the same sex. But, even if he does have sex with someone, if he does the thing that would have forgiveness for committing the sin, then it would be fine.

  • No, he really can't.

He cannot be homosexual because the church forbids anybody in that practice to run for office, or to have holy orders. If this was figured out by a higher member of the clergy, he would most likely be kicked out of his position. That is why he would not be able to.
