  • Report from HHS says no.

We have all seen the picture of kids on the bus "One in six of these children is hungry". However information from Health and Human Services states that one is six has "food insecurity". The way they define food insecurity covers just about everyone ( me and you included). Actual hunger is pegged at 5.7 % or one in seventeen. Still too high, but better than the common perception.

  • 6 out of 6 Americans suffer from hunger.

No, that is not true. In fact, 6 out of 6 Americans suffers from hunger. When you usually wake up in the morning, I'm guessing you're pretty hungry, or if you have to work late and get home late, you are pretty hungry. Or if you get stranded on the highway you might get hungry as well.

Heck, I'm hungry right now. Who wants to join me for a couple of Burger King fish sandwiches?
