When I just moved to America, it was very hard to stay in touch with my parents. I could only send letters, and that would take about 2 weeks because service was bad. Now, you can send messages to whomever you want using email or texting, which is much easier and much more helpful.
People argue technology makes you gain weight and turns you clumsy and rude, introverted and anti-social- but these are all things that are up to us to change. Gaining weight is up to you're activity and diet as well- yes tech may be a factor that's holding you back, but if you have self discipline then you should easily be able to stop and put your electronic devices away. It's you who turns that phone or computer on, it's your finger that presses the app, the tech doesn't come alive and force you to do something. Plus many people are forgetting the fact that tech has allowed us to advance medically, ethically and economically. Now we can save more lives, we can trade between countries so much more easily and widen so many business cooperations. We can spread ideas and get people to understand so many different views that would never have usually been accepted. Technology has allowed you to put your opinion on this board today.
With the advent of modern technology, it has become easier than ever to communicate with friends, and family. It has also become much easier to research for school, and to work from home. Without technology, the world would fall into disrepair. Sure, you can argue that people become "self-centered" and are gaining weight because of technology, however those are minor problems. The world revolves around technology, and without it life would be exceedingly worse.
Modern technology has done amazing and wonderful things to advance humanity in the last 100 years. Today, people have computers the size of post cards (cell phones) that are more powerful than anything that existed 20 years ago. People are consequently able to connect to other people and services very quickly. Technology is also creating a much longer life span for people in industrialized nations.
I believe modern technology is good for society when used appropriately. I believe companies and people have a tendency to use technology in good and bad ways, but we should try to limit its uses to only the good. For example, everyone can agree that automated phone systems are terrible, we shouldn't use them and companies should try to financial benefit by using them. However, electronic inventory systems are extremely helpful and make retail a far simpler system, so these systems are both helpful and good for society (not to mention business).
Modern technology provides many benefits that are vital to our comfort and even to our survival. Medical technology allows people to live longer, more active lives by detecting life-threatening conditions earlier and providing for timely treatment. The technology of the Internet empowers people by giving unprecedented access to information. Social media like Facebook have energized democratic movements all over the world. Technological innovation has allowed the average person to enjoy creature comforts that would have been the envy of kings in previous centuries.
The blue light of the phone make us stay inside more. We need to do exersise. Even when it a warm night setting, It always make the eye more bad. It can mke student lack in class environment. Ot can disurb student on learning. I don't like this so much.
On the other hand, The evolution of modern technology has disadvantages, For example, Dependence on new technology. Man no longer needs to think. Even if the calculator is a good invention, Man no longer makes mental calculation and no longer works his memory. The decline of human capital implies an increase in unemployment. In some areas, Devices can replace the human mind.
The use of technology certainly needs rule and new laws. For example internet use is an individual freedom. However, The invention of the atomic bomb cannot be an individual freedom. In fact, Regulations are difficult to implement when these technologies are introduced – such as regulation surrounding the impending arrival of autonomous vehicles.
Finally, As most technological discoveries aim to reduce human effort, It would imply that more work is done by machines. This equates to less work for people: the human is becoming ever so obsolete by the day, As processes become automated and jobs are made redundant.
The negative impact of the influence of technology on children should not be underestimated as well.
I work in an industry that uses computers and software to design, been doing this for 38 years. Started back in the day of the pencil and paper, you calculated and figure things out on your own with simple calculator, design manuals, standards, when people took pride in good work.
Then came computers, software all be it very simple in those days. At first the technology was an adjustment, but a good thing, we used our previous skills, the computer was another tool, the learning curve was reasonable. Things changed over the next 10 - 15 years in regards to technology, computers but continued at a reasonable pace, the software was half decently thought out and relatively stable, there were good teachers.
There were good software development companies but then they were bought out by the bigger companies, their good software squashed now bigger companies could push their less efficient and far less user friendly software out, constantly changing, updating, changing platforms, how the software operated to the point that it is virtually impossible to do the actual work or understand how to make the software operate, no teachers everything is online. For you software developers try to remember not everyone is a rocket scientist, software must be user friendly so the people that use it can be productive.
NOW the software is making the work place FAR less efficient, more errors, no one can think for themselves, everything must be an automated process and common sense and skill sets that have been used for decades are rapidly getting lost in this fast paced transition, impossible for skill sets to be pasted along. We have almost gone so far down this path that there is no way to slow down or stop it.
Turn on your TV watch the news, transit systems come to a stand still because the software malfunctions, tens of thousands of people don't get their pay checks because software malfunctions and we tax payers pay 100's of millions trying to fix it, thousands of air plane flights don't have pilots over the Christmas season because software malfunctions, and don't get me started on cell phones and social media, everyday we see on the news all the bad things this has caused cyber bullies etc, no one can even sit down and have a conversation face to face anymore.
How much more of this do we need to endure before we wake up and smell the roses, maybe those science fiction movies are more fact than fiction, maybe one day we'll learn a hard lesson and wonder why we didn't slow down this technology process and better plan and think things out so that we can all keep up.
The world is now a hectic place, this ever changing way that we do things has created a monster we cannot control, or be expected to keep up with. Are we really better off and happier in life today because of technology . . . I think NOT!
I understand why some modern technology is good for society but to much is bad We start to think only about the technology not what is important. Just like in Rome they got to focused on what they wanted like going to a coliseum or eating the best food, not what matters
Technology is hurting all of us we need to put our phones and ipods and take a walk outside and meet new people we have been glued to our phones which has kept us from interacting with other humans right now stop reading this and interact with others in person.
Humans have almost always been on a path of progression, but thanks to technology, the twentieth and twenty-first centuries have seen a number of advancements that revolutionized the way people work, live and play. Imagining what life would be like without some of these advancements has become a difficult task due to their importance and our reliance on them.
As we know the internet is great and can be useful in so many ways from ordering shopping to getting in touch with an old friend but there are many people who use it for scams to trick people out of money or to undermine someone weather it is as a joke with friends or as a public statement it is still hurtful to some people

Modern technology is not good for society. Cell phones actually have made people more rude in public. It also turns people off to their surroundings so that they become self-centered. In addition, the internet, television, and video games have caused Americans to gain a lot of weight. These things are all due to technology and none of them are good.
I think technology is good for saving lives and making the simple things in life much more easy, but it is harming us. We are basically turning into meat bags who can barely function anymore. Our attention span is shrinking, we're getting out of shape and clumsy, and we are getting less patient with one another.
