  • Yes, it's a backlash from conservativism gone wild.

With the advent of the tea party movement in the Republican party and all the neo conservatives that are trying to hold back the tide of progress and egalitarianism, neo liberalism has emerged as a movement that wants to take back the human rights agenda and push for more equality among people and groups and that is good.

  • Yes, I believe neoliberalism is good.

Neoliberalism advocates many free market policies and overall deregulation, history has shown that the most powerful economies in the world are those that allow the free markets to decide the fate of the economy so I feel that neoliberalism is a worthwhile ideology for any Government to put into practice.

  • Neoliberalism is harmful

Neoliberalism is not good at all for individuals or society. It is just another version is old fashion liberalism which takes people's freedoms away and gives it to the government. It also takes people drive away and encourages them to depend on the government for them to get by and survive.

  • It advocates for freedom.

Yes, neoliberalism is good, because it advocates for open markets and free trade. America became the richest country in the world by having free markets and few laws. The neoliberals want to put that back in place. It would have amazing results and make us all rich, if people would give it a try.

  • Neoliberalism is fair for all, it's good for both rich and poor

People are best equipped to make their own decisions about their life, not subjected to the arbitrary will of other people. The market is the most efficient and humane way to allocate resources and to let people determine their priorities. Just look at the fact that the global spread of neoliberal free market economies has lifted billions out of poverty and deprivation and has improved living standards as never before in human history.

  • Neoliberalism in Chile

Current living proof that neoliberalism works and that it's good. Chile is the leader in economic and social measures from latin america thanks to the neoliberalism model implemented by Pinochet, Milton Friedman, and the Chicago Boys. Regarding latin america, they have the lowest poverty, highest gdp per capita, lowest corruption, highest social mobility, etc. That's a YES for neoliberalism!

  • Neo Liberalism is for fools

For those of you saying that major countries like America developed through the free market and by practicing free trade, You need a history lesson. The major economic powers of the world have all gained success through practicing protectionism and subsidizing their industries, And the only reason why the big countries are preaching neo liberalism orthodoxy to developing countries is to actually deter them from their growth. Free trade under the wrong conditions can be a curse.

  • The value-base of neoliberalism is equality of the unit of currency; the value-base of progressivism is instead equality of persons.

Neoliberalism is the idea that each person is worth that person's wealth or net worth and that every dollar is equally valuable regardless whether it's a dollar that is owned by a billionaire or instead by a pauper. Progressivism is the idea that each person is equally valuable regardless of his/her wealth, And that a dollar is worth a thousand times as much to a person whose net worth is a thousand dollars than to a person whose net worth is a million dollars. A neoliberal's value-system is based on human inequality that's founded upon wealth-inequality; a progressive's value-system is based on human equality, The idea that each person is intrinsically of equal value as every other person is. For a neoliberal, Every dollar is of intrinsically of equal value regardless of how wealthy its owner is; a progressive believes instead that each person is intrinsically of equal value. Neoliberalism therefore favors endless greed; but progressivism therefore opposes that.

  • It proliferates the destruction of the environment

Neoliberalism is intrinsically tied to free, unregulated exploitation of the environment so long as it leads to profit for a small number of people. An unregulated market (the product of a neoliberal mindset) means no restrictions on resource use and control, meaning the private sector can take as much as it wants. "Tragedy of the Commons" theory fails to hold up in this instance because it is possible for people to control and distribute resources without corporate intervention.

  • Creates bigger divides in a community

While neoliberalism can be good for many reasons. The main reason that I am against it is because it will create bigger devides between the rich and poor. Causing development to be harder to further. Another reason that Neoliberalism is bad is because without government intervention there would be more theft and you can not complain to the government.

  • Neoliberalism is good - for the wealthy

Though it may support a growing nation, neoliberalism hinders social mobility and creates a larger rich/poor divide. Not only this but it shifts power onto businesses who further control public opinion and legislation (think Rupert Murdock). It is essentially undemocratic and does not represent the people. Consistently in the past government regulation has supported people and businesses. Think of the aviation industry and the NHS (just two examples of many). Further neoliberalism will always fail to effectively tackle environmental issues.

  • It's A System or Way of Thinking

Neoliberalism supports a free economy, free trade, open markets, privatization, deregulation, and the use of the private sector. I believe with all political theories they are best in moderation, taking one on only poses an extreme, each extreme having downfalls that impact society. There are good and bad elements to neoliberalism.
