Is Phil Cantone (the character in "Harlem Nights") a good example of the racism that is common in northern England?

  • One, he's more unlikable than Calhoun (and Danny played him well); this is exactly the kinda bigotry that goes on in northern England

Cantone is an English surname of Anglo-Saxon origin, originating somewhere in the north of England. To me, I take back what I said about Calhoun. Bugsy, while he was bad, was actually much nicer than Cantone, who was just plain arrogant towards blacks altogether. Cantone was just a hateful and arrogant womanizing bigot.

But he is an example of the bigotry that is rampant in northern England, being this character is northern English.
