• Of course they are

They are way too obsessed for my tastes. I think everything they say or do has been blown out of proportion, and people idolize someone just because they are financially great and they look 'attractive.'

It's one of the reasons where people feel adequate. Society can make some people feel like if they aren't rich, then they are inadequate. I have come across some fans of celebrities who bleat 'at least they are getting more money', and they actually believe that makes someone above them. It is sad mentality.

It's hard to treat celebrities as 'normal people' (W.E. That means) when the media treats them anything but normal. Ex. Will Smith slaps a reporter 'OMG He's the man' and the term 'slap' is a huge hyperbole. Kanye West has a temper tatrum, he is an a**hole.

If the media didn't focus on celebrities half as much, then people wouldn't care as much, which would be a good thing.

  • It's a no-brainer.

Celebrities can almost never be admired for WHO they are, it's always how handsome and pretty they are, what character they played in such and such a movie, etc. I don't have a problem with anybody going to Hollywood simply because they enjoy acting, and I'm open to the assumption that many celebrities do so, but it becomes a problem when they start acting like a god and prancing around fancy carpets and cars like they own the solar system. Somehow society feels that this means they're angels above everybody else. Bottom line, everybody puts their pants on one leg at a time. (plus, they're usually far-left airheads who agree with all the "rich people are greedy bigots" crap, and all the while they're making unfathomable amounts of money and often wear horrendous outfits that would throw the average American family into bankruptcy. Astonishing.)

  • Of course they are.

Their are entire magazines devoted to these freaks, these idiots. These retards don't deserve fame, they deserve to be living in a gutter. All you need is the correct image, and a little autotune, and then society is obsessed with you! People shouldn't be worried about other, more successful peoples lives, they should be worrying about how to make their own lives successful! The only way to get rid of these vermin is to starve the market. If nobody bought People magazines, and nobody watched MTV or TMZ, then these famous would have to actually work for a living.

  • People are to obsessed

Celebrities are ridiculous. There usually over paid drug addicts who act like idiots. And society worships them. People strive to be like them and would pay just to touch them. It's pathetic, and they're all over the news. Why should we care what happens to them, believe it or not they're just another person who happens to have good looks.
