  • Sport Hunting Isn't what You Think It Is!

People misunderstand the meaning of sport hunting. They seem to think it means "killing for fun" and not eating the animal killed. The actual definition is actually the definition of any type of hunting.

"Complex activity which combines two necessary components: 1. Physical actions: [a] stalking, pursuing, or otherwise seeking a wild animal and [b] killing it, or at least attempting to kill it. 2. Psychological states [a] intending, planning, desiring, hoping to kill the animal pursued and [b] enjoying, greiving, feeling satisfaction, pleasure, pride, relief, etc. in the killing or attempt."

Sport hunting doesn't even have to involve killing the animal; it is the simple action of pursuing a quarry and 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 to harvest it. Most people confuse "SPORT HUNTING" with what is known as "POACHING". Shooting an animal and leaving it to rot is illegal in most countries, including the United States. The only times it is legal to let an animal lay after shooting it is when the animal is invasive and hurting the native species, or if the population is too large and potentially leading the species to extinction through loss of food or habitat, or disease. This is known as "EXTERMINATION".

Sport Hunting is neither wasteful nor is it even illegal or ethically wrong (unless you are against killing of any kind). People should be better informed about the actual definition of such topics.

    Thank you.
