• You are terribly missinformed

This isn't china where if you type in the word Tebbet your device shuts down. Or Saudi Arabia where you will be flogged inn public for sharring your opinion on the government in public. The government simply scans the internet and phone records for terrorists just like aircraft carriers use radar to search the skys for enemy aircaft. They arent shooting missles at seagulls just like the government isnt pulling down your facebook page because you possed with an artilery piece. They will tear down your page is you post instructions on how to make a pipe bomb.

  • Yes, the NSA is protecting us.

The NSA is protecting us by monitoring for suspicious activity and trying to keep an eye out for terrorism threats. While it may seem invasive to have them spying on us, most people have nothing to worry about regarding the observation. We are already highly spied upon by people in the marketing industry, and no one really complains about that. I'm willing to lose some liberties to have a feeling of being safer.

  • The NSA is protecting us.

The NSA is doing a good a necessary job of protecting us. In the 21st century, it is necessary for the government to use technology to find terrorists. The government should do everything in its power to protect American citizens from the machinations of terrorists. If wiretapping is necessary to prevent another 911, it is a small price to pay.

  • NSA Does Overly-Thorough Job

The NSA does protect us, but at what cost? Everyone in this country is being spied upon thanks to wide-ranging powers given to the agency by the USA Patriot Act of 2001. The war on terror is over, folks. Osama bin Laden is dead. The program can be scaled back now. These powers of espionage didn't stop the Boston Marathon bombing, did it?

  • Yes, the NSA is protecting us.

Yes, the NSA is protecting us. There is a reason that we haven't had a major terrorist attack since 9/11 and that reason is the NSA and their spying and data collection programs. These programs have helped to counter act terrorism and saved lives. No doubt in my mind without the NSA we would have already have had another terrorist attack.

  • Yes they are.

Yes, the National Security Agency (NSA) is protecting us. While they get put on blast by the media for all of the bad things they do, they do not show what good things that the NSA does. They protect us from many attacks that would otherwise happen if they were not protecting us.

  • Yes the NSA is protecting us.

As unfortunate as it is the NSA is protecting us, just it violets our rights. The fact that they are monitoring cell phones and recording all calls and texts is illegal under our constitution it is keeping America more safe by noticing suspicious texts and calls and they can track who a person is working with in case of an attack.

  • If you have nothing to hide....

Do I even need to explain why having every single facet of your life at the mercy of a government patsy is a bad idea? Whats that, you said something less than flattering about a politician two years ago on Facebook? Woops, we forgot to count your vote. Have an uncle in Pakistan? Please step aside for a "random" strip search on your domestic flight. Oh. We see that you have evidence of corruption at high levels of government? Oh dear, its seems that your steering has failed on a bridge causing you to plow trough the barricade at full steam and kill you. Need I go on? And no, I'm not being melodramatic, all of this has already happened, the harassment of innocent people, the obstruction of free speech and yes, the murder of US and foreign citizens. The NSA is the secret police, and whats worse is that they are encouraging this vile behavior in other nations to further their own confused, illegitimate and incompetent reach. If any needs a regime change, its the US.
