Is the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) effective?

Asked by: Fanny
  • Yes,the violence against women act is effective

As written, the violence against women act is effect. The law allows for funds to be distributed for women's shelters as well as legal issues. This allows women that are abused to assert their independence to a greater degree. This also allows for education before abuse occurs so the potential abuser and victim will know their choices.

  • Yes it is

The VAWA is effective, because it is robustly and vigorously enforced. It was a success and an example of how legislation, if enforced and crafted in just the right way, can be truly effective and can really work toward making citizens lives better and really instill confidence into Congress, which is badly needed.
