Is there any nation on this earth that could successfully invade and conquer the United States of America?

Asked by: ararmer1919
  • It Depends on what type of invasion

Russia can take all of the US, however it will stand upon a pile of ashes if they are indeed successful.
In a war Russia V's America without any allies as the question asks a nation only. Russia might be able to "conquer" the US or whatever its left of it.

What I mean is that the technological capabilities of the Russian lags moderately below that of the mighty US. However all you need is enough Ballistic Missiles and Nuclear Bombs to turn all of the US to ashes, in the insuring war, Russia might get caught so can the entire world. There are enough WMDs to destroy the world several times. If all the nukes are launches in a all out war. I'm afraid the US will not survive, neither will the enemy.

Roaches will survive. And whatever Alien that comes afterwards is going to have to talk with the manager if he wants to take the remains of what was once called "Earth"

  • Yes, but not militarily invade, we're too strong for that

I'm guessing that a crafty, small country might want to turn the U.S. Against one of its allies and let us battle it out, then when both us and the country we were at war with are completely wiped of the earth, that small, crafty country could conquer whatever is left of what was once called the land of the free. Maybe they invade, but not a military invasion, maybe just a spy, and plant a couple of false documents, someone to stir up the people (because a lot of people in America are total warmongers, I bet a lot of people would gladly sign us up to take down China or North Korea, even if they had no proof that China or North Korea did anything wrong) and before you know it, the people are demanding a war, the leaders of the country give them a war, and all hell breaks loose, nuclear bombs are flying Soon, only a couple small countries are functioning, and the small, crafty country that started all of this lays claim to what remains of America.

  • With intelligence and economics, and only then.

We are a nation susceptible to greed and the hungers of gluttony. It wouldn't be far fetched or a surprise at all, really, if we had slowly began to trade off sections of our land in making up for the summations of debt we've racked up. I can imagine that the USA, a member of the UN and specifically dedicated to preventing war and suffering, would fold small pieces of land under the threat of disbandment or collective force from the other large players.

  • Depends on attack

With the right method, yes. Imagine an EMP is detonated above the Eastern seaboard from a satellite that China or North Korea or Iran launched months ago. No communications, no power, anarchy within days if not minutes. Then imagine a barrage of their airforces (much like Pearl Harbor) destroying as much of our defense (Naval) as possible. Send in the landing parties, and well we're screwed.

  • China possibly could

The Size of the People's Liberation Army is quite massive with a total of 2,250,000 personal and compared to the US Military size of 1,500,000. The PLA has technology that can easily fight against the US military. But the US Army has the homeland advantage and with any invading forces, there are always militias to back up the Army against the invading forces.

  • Yes. Every empire throughout history has eventually fallen. We are far to arrogant.

Rome, Italy, Greece, Mesopotamia, Japan, USSR, China. Look no further than word history to find evidence that every countries government in the world has eventually fallen, or been conquered.

Did any of you take world history in college?

Are we so arrogant to believe that we will defy 100% statistical evidence.

  • China may be able to take us over due to the fact that we are their biggest customer in buying.

China doesn't have nearly as much nukes or money or weapons or planes. The only thing about china that sounds threatning is their population, but there's a catch. I mentioned that we are there biggest customer and we need thousands of ships to have all these supplies come to the U.S. These ships are capable of bringing millions of weapons, supplies, and ,of course, men. This would be a surprise attack and we wouldn't be prepared and the war may last decades but overall we may lose but in the end china would fall because again we support 80% of their economy and china would soon fall after the death of America.

  • We have created our own underclass that has less allegiance to what used to be the "dream"

I fear that with the largest population in prisons in the world, the fastest growing underclass which has taken people who used to be solidly middle-class and made them poor with little to no chance to work their way up, a broken education system, a growing population that places more value on what some dim-witted semi celebrity with a big butt is wearing than even basic economic and social policy issues......Yes, we could be successfully invaded....From within. Through ideas, revolution, people being sick of the top one percent becoming wealthier, with health care becoming unreachable for many. It can happen easier than we might think. Our most notable exports these days are sports and entertainment. Not the stuff worth dying for. Someone comes along selling what seems on the surface to be a "better" idea, or an improvement, or false empowerment. Our weakness is that we have abdicated being a great people for the sole purpose of feeling like a great nation. Its not too late to change that course, but it is where we will be vulnerable to invasion.

  • The US could certainly be invaded.

Look how we have turned on our founding principles. Every great empire that turns against their own better natures always end up being invaded, conquered, and ruined. But then again, if a nation goes back towards their founding principles (and if said principles are moral) they experience a boom that the world had never seen before.

  • Russia is big enough

They haave enough weapons and people to do so, yet they will have conquered the largest pile of rubble ever. After the attack, this country should be reduced to a stain. Americans are unprofesional 18 year old idiot highschool dropouts with toy plastic guns that dont work right getting killed while home defense contractors get rich and a bunch of generals promote themselves and retire and get drunk on the caiman islands

  • Gun behind every blade of grass

Our military is a super power alone, Our navy is a wall for us but you can't forget about the people, My family alone is armed to the tee I couldn't imagine the rest of the people in this amazing country, Right to bear arms is a right I live by and always will, When guns are outlawed ill be a outlaw.

  • Not currently no

So many idiots in this forum or whatever I swear. The strongest country (economy and military wise) is the US currently. Assuming we are also keeping this 1v1 and not including the f**k ton of US allies still even then no country on this planet is able to conquer the US one vs one and be successful. Nuclear warfare is a huge blow out vs any country besides russia which they only can keep up with the US in this degree. But are blown out from the sea, In the air, And a lot more man power(with experience). But Russia being able too hold ground in the nuclear warfare part of this would make them the biggest threat for the US. But even then they only hold there ground.

  • No there is not

1: America has a f**k TON of allies! If a nation even tried to conquer America half the world would join the fight against that nation.

2: America is the most technologically advanced country in the world. Sure they're countries that are more advanced than America in some branch of technology like Japan is more technologically advanced in robotics. But overall America is the most advanced

3: Everybody has guns! That sweet, Sweet 2nd amendment. If a country somehow conquers America, Their military would be extremely weakened. There's also the fact that almost everybody would rebel against this new government, It would be the revolutionary war all over again, Just much better for the Americans.

  • American gun owners

There is a reason that Japan did not invade the us mainland after devastating our Pacific fleet. As general yamamoto said, "You cannot invade mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind each blade of grass. " There are about 137 million gun owners in the us. Even if the invasion worked no possible stability would be accomplished. There are too many of us that would resist any form of occupation.

  • Why the USA Would not lose

Because they are the strongest military powerhouse even if Russia invade if you remember Canada and USA have a defense pact so Canada would join the war and nato is allies with the USA so they will also help So it is impossible for Russia or anyone else to invade the USA

  • The United States Has The Strongest Military!

The United States has successfully invaded many countries, But no country is powerful enough to invade the US. This is for a number of reasons. One is the geography of the United States. The US is allied with Canada and other surrounding nations. In addition, The US overpowers all the other countries with their military. Another reason is the fact that the United States spends billions on the military and hence leads to the most equipment and tools of destruction.

  • Technically eh. . . . Probable no

Let's just say the us goes to war with Russia. First you would need to completely destroy our military then, You would have to totally overpower civilian and defensive Force's. Rome concurred a lot of different countries because the had the ability and strategy to do so. The us has a massive gap between here and Russia. Transportation of personal is huge, How are you going to invade if your defensive and offence is not based for ideal sea combat. USA has a large military budget how ever that doesn't say much. It's how you use is that counts. USA has the latest navel ships on the sea. That being said there are ways to destroy them such as emp bombs. All our ships are nuclear which generate electric equipment. Ok so you got past that next you have darpa. Holy shit darpa the shit they work on is insane. (Look it up). Then you have to then somehow overpower the population and cripple the economy. That can be done by inciting riots and hacking the electrical grid. Poof you have disabled alot if our strength. But you got a lot of shady shit government wize here, Secret project of mass annihilation. No matter how you look the us is the most shady Fu** to hide there weapons. We release what you want to hear and keep our tech secret. The usa won't hesitate to sacrifice a few or more US citizens to keep our secrets. So no probs not Russia sorry. We aren't the best of countries to invade anyway the world economy would collapse all together. Also we aren't as jolly as you think we are quite corrupt behind the scenes. Our capital is the highest slave trafficking in the country.

  • U. S Military and Logistics

If the question is "Can the US be invaded? " then the answer is yes.
However, It would be extremely costly to any and all countries and the United States would not fall. If an invasion of the U. S mainland were to happen, The other countries would suffer incomprehensible losses on their side. The combined military powers of the world would have to cross oceans in order to start a land invasion and would need huge supply lines thousands of miles long. Simply pushing into the U. S beaches and establishing a Beachhead before overwhelming U. S naval, Airforce and Army units arrived to push them back into the ocean would be hard due to well armed civilians and extremely fast land travel systems. Once warfare is established, U. S naval ships around the world would begin to sink every foreign warship heading their way. Even ignoring the nuclear capabilities of the U. S, America would probably launch an offensive while being prepared to defend their homeland. Mexico would probably be invaded and cities with large populations would be taken. Any kind of large transportation system such as highways would be destroyed or taken over to make a buffer for armies invading from South America. The only real option for a foreign country would be to strike fast and hard, But even if they managed to attack deep into the U. S mainland, They would strand themselves without direct supply lines.
As Japan’s Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto is quoted as saying: "You cannot invade mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind each blade of grass. "

In summary, An invasion of the U. S is such an obvious loss that no country would entertain the
    idea.

  • Too many gun owners

We have gangs with better weaponry than most armies. Also too much land to cover. Every type of terrain would have to be traversed. We are some of the most patriotic people, Not totally influenced by some religious belief. Just think of how many trailer parks they would have to take. Lol
