Mandatory drug testing for political candidates: Should political candidates be subject to mandatory drug testing?

  • Yes, political candidates should be subject to mandatory drug testing

Running for a political position should be seen as applying to any other job in that the candidate much submit to a background check as well as mandatory drug testing. Being a political figure carries a lot of moral and financial responsibilities and if a candidate cannot stay clean in such a high and important position, then they should not be eligible to run.

  • Nobody really cares

Drug testing should not be mandatory for political candidates because all that really matters is the ability of the figure to perform their duties. Drugs that they may or may not be taking should not be illegal in the first place, so the idea that there should be regulations about it is awful.
