Marriage is unnecessary. You can have children outside of it and choose to be together with a partner forever without any rings or legal papers.

  • Yes, marriage is unnecessary, BUT . . .

It is true that you are still able to have children with and live with your significant other if you are not married. However, you do not have as many of the advantages that marriage brings. There are tax benefits, medical decisions, immigration benefits, etc. No one should feel forced into marriage and should have the right to not marry if they do not want to. But there are a great deal of benefits for it.

  • It's purpose is obsolete in modern times.

As far as I am aware, it's main purpose is to make sex 'not shameful' or 'not a sin'. It is practiced all around the world, so it has no clear origin, but the one that is most popular is Christianity. I don't understand why marriage would be necessary outside of religious practices, nor why it would be a legal matter. If two people want to be together, they can do so without rings or ceremonies or legal papers. While it has its financial advantages, marriage as a legal concept is obsolete.

  • This is based on many factors

Your upbringing has a vital role in something off this matter. From a religious perspective, yes, it is necessary because you should give your all to one person and you break yokes as one. Many things we do is a sin. Why is there such a proble with marriage? And you should make it legal because there are many tings that happen in marriages that involve the law.
