• It's uncreative an pretty much the same

If you ever learned music theory you will know that pop is hot garbage. All it is, Is simple open chords which get overused as there are only around 10 chords (including minor). The only problem is that people who listen to them don't even know how trash it is. Mostly because their fan bases are a bunch of young kids who haven't gained an ear for music and have never seen any good creative songs. And the creative goods songs they find they shun because its not catchy enough at the beginning.

I have only plaid guitar or like 6 months and already I hate pop.

Because its cheap easy retarded garbage that brings cancer to the world.

  • Where are today's Beatles, Who, Led Zepelin, Yes, Dscid Bowie, Prince, Talking Heads, Smiths, Cure, Sisters of Mercy?

Yes, Pop music is most definitely dead, Along with genres like rock, Progressive rock, Indie, And everything else. You cannot compare the absolute bilge written and produced today by computers music. People can't even sing, So they use Auto-Tune. There is zero creativity, There are about three or four templates for how music has to sound today. Did you know that all pop music today is written by about four different Swedish guys? It's a complete insult to call this shitt music it's insulting to the great bands of the past mentioned in my title. Peace out two children of the 60s 70s 80s and 90s.

  • It's not as good as it used to be

I believe they ran out of music and lyrics so now it's just a loop of basically the same songs with the same lyrics and meanings with the same tempos and beats playing behind them and the people are just getting tired of it and now they want to move on. Pop now is something we never thought it would be. Simply vanilla, Square, Down right boring.

  • Pop music is dead. It doesn’t even deserve to be called music.

I like many genres, such as classical, rock (Older rock, though.) jazz, blues, ska... But the point is, pop music is awful. The songs are all the same, and are made so on purpose. They're all about love, the lyrics are uncreative, and the 'singers', if they can even be considered singers, have no talent whatsoever.

The problem is, the twelve-year-old girls that listen to this garbage don’t even know that the songs are all made the same on purpose to gain popularity. I myself cannot even distinguish one pop song from another, and I’m pretty sure it’s the same with pop fans, who don’t care, because "Their friends" are listening to it and like it, and therefore they must like it too or they're 'weird'.

In conclusion, pop music is bad, it doesn’t even deserve to carry the title 'music', and shouldn’t be considered a genre, as it is an insult to music itself.

  • Yes, pop music is a dying industry

I do believe that the pop industry is dying. I believe that pop music was the 90's and now it just isn't what it used to be. There are small spurts of very large pop stars now from time to time, but it is so inconsistent. I believe that the pop industry is slowly starting to dwindle away.

  • Simon Cowell killed the music industry. Andi Peters ruined Top of the Pops.

No decent bands get a look in, There's no decent music programmes on mainstream TV - Simon Cowell has made sure of that. His Xfactor / BGT is just a money making project for himself, He won't allow bands to be popular with society. Just throw away artists who have 5 minute one hit wonders. No talent - just generated computer backing and lyrics.

Bring back Top of the pops - with a run down that that tells people what is in the charts.

  • Pop music is as alive as ever!

Pop music is alive and well! Turn on the radio and scan through the stations. Many of them play pop music. Go to itunes and look at the top songs or albums purchased and you will see that many are from pop artists. Go to a pop artist's concert and check out the stadium- often sold out. There is no way pop music is dying!

  • Very much alive, Actually.

Songs on the radio are still mostly pop music. Pop is thriving on YouTube. . . Probably more than other genres. Most of my friends listen to pop as well--

So, No. Pop is not dying quite yet. I would like it to, As most pop songs generally sound the same and get boring after a while, But it definitely is not dying yet.

  • Pop music is popular AF

Pop music is so popular right now, look at the popular pop music videos on YouTube, the singers publish a good song every now and then. Also, look at their views. They're usually like over 100000 views even if it got published a few weeks ago. I listen to it every day and it never died because that's just the music I think I like the most.
