Yes, a gunman on the loose with an AK-47 is due to lax gun laws. Any civilian with an AK-47 is due to lax gun laws. There is no reason for a civilian to have high powered autmotic weapons. Handguns, shot guns, semi-automatic firearms are fine. Anythiing beyond that is, literally, overkill.
Yes, this is due to lax gun laws because there is no reason a human being needs a gun of that magnitude. Guns should be allowed for hunting, but when someone can purchase a gun like that, the only possible use for it is to massacre as many people as possible.
The AK-47s aren't running around pulling their own triggers and hurting people. Selfish, demented people are the problem in this country---not guns. I think that sensible gun laws are a good thing, but you can't blame the tool for a person's choices and behavior. No one wants to have personal responsibility.
In Oklahoma, a gunman is on the loose with an AK47 after killing two people and shooting two police officers. There is nothing to prove that this is because of lax gun laws, in fact you could argue that gun laws are the reason that the fugitive had a gun in the first place.
