This was a circus, and bad political move by the GOP. Silly theatrics are not leadership.

Ummm.. It was Obama who made the decision to shutdown the government. It is obvious Obama and his administration is the big circus.

Even Obama himself called to not raise the debt ceiling during the reign of Bush. You didn't see Bush act like a little kid like Obama did. He probably needed his diapers to be changed afterwards.

You can write everything you like, but it's simply isn't any of that unfold. You're just unhappy because it was such a terrible move by the Republicans

The only thing terrible is many republicans chose to not stand with principle that day and furthermore attempted to trick their constituents by voting for the "clean bill" then voting against it as soon as their votes were counted.

The details of the shutdown are not lost to us, we are keenly aware of how it came to pass. The point is, it was a political gambit by the gop that failed miserably. They held their breaths like children, and when the public saw how childish the children in the gop could be, they knew what they saw. A bunch of spoiled children. It was not Obama shitting his pants, it was the GOP looking to deflect blame anywhere they could.

No.. That was what the liberal mass media machine portrayed about the events that took place, not the American people. The American people are vulnerable to lies and democrats know this. Plus liberals have much more media coverage than conservatives. The only reason liberal organizations are paying attention to conservative organizations now is because republicans have got sick of democrat's manipulative tactics and have outright boycotted liberal organizations all together. Furthermore, after two terms of a no good for nothing president many democratic constituents have waken up to realize republicans are telling the truth about democrats.

Keep living that conservative fantasy. Ride it right up to nominating Trump(tm). Nothing would be finer.

Moving away from the echo chamber brain washed comments, one important thing to clarify, is that it wasn't the GOP that led democracy over the cliff. Cruz and others are Libertarians, pretending to be Republicans. And they are bankrolled by the Libertarian Koch Brothers, who morphed from the John Birch Society. But getting back to the brain washed... Saying the Obama caused it because he wouldn't cave is stinking thinking. Our government is set up with procedures and rules, and one of them is that the Congress has to pass legislation that the President won't veto. That's why we have a President, because we need the checks and balances. When Cruz kicked the chessboard over and stormed out, you can't blame Obama for not forfeiting his duty, even if you don't agree with that duty. This is the same logic that wife beaters use. "It's her fault for making me so angry!"...

FTB, You are still saying Obama didn't do nothing wrong and that he wasn't the one who shutdown the government. Also, this is a clear double standard. Democrats can filibuster what they want to, but republicans can't. Lastly, let's make this clear, Ted Cruz is a constitutional conservative, not a libertarian. Furthermore, no sh*t our government is set up with procedures and rules. Though who has to follow them? Only the Senators and congress people who aren't part of the establishment on either side of the aisle as these rules and procedures you are talking about are new ones made up for each time someone new stands up to crony capitalism. Lastly, Obama could have passed funding for all government agencies and just settled out the rest with the other side of the aisle. That would've been fair. Though this is isn't what happened. So, if anyone is brainwashed making ridiculous statements it is you my friend. Sidenote: If you disagree with it didn't have to be shutdown then why did you choose the answer in question? Idiot. The same goes for the rest of you who voted for the answer in question and try to act like; 'Oh, Obama wasn't the one in control of the on and off switch to our government funding."

@Haroush - I know what you want. I know what you have come to believe. However, subverting laws that you don't like using this sort of shenanigans is transparent to all that witnessed the events unfold. We now have a bunch of children (sorry - republicans) saying they will shutdown the government over Planned Parenthood. When that falls on its face, watch them blame chipmunks and squirrels. Anyone rather than take the blame they rightly deserve, and receive from a public who is not that stupid.
