@Texas14 Why do you think the UKIP is racist?
It is a common opinion that the United Kingdom Independence Party have racist views and many of the members are racist.
@triangle.128k, I've read several articles with quotes from UKIP members where they sound a lot like Donald Trump, Ben Carson and other racist bigoted politicians that we have here in America.
@Texas14 That's just the media cherry picking people and misinterpreting quotes.
Have you seen the documentary "Meet the UKIPers"?
@BrendanD19 I just watched part of it, and it is obvious cherry picking.
Seeing as they showed full context for statements I would say it isn't really cherrypicking
It's cherry picking if you're showing how UKIP is racist by cherry picking specific racist UKIP supporters. Every party has their fair share of bigoted racists.
No, what they did was they were embeded with UKIP members and coucilers in South Thanet. They didn't just take clips of UKIP members they found online, they followed the UKIP members and filmed with their permission and showed the conversations they had.
Seems highly edited from what I've seen of it. Nigel Farage is opposed to racism and the far right, he would never approve of any racism. In fact, he's probably done more to fight the far right than any other party leader has. And as I said, every party has their fair share of racists.
More to fight the far right, than say, George Galloway? Leader of Respect? The guy who organizes many of the protests against the Far-Right?
Have you watched the whole thing? Seriously, just watch it.

And 44% of Brits viewed UKIP as racist BEFORE the documentary was released. And nearly half of voters think that your party is racist, you really need to ask why. Maybe it's because UKIP's policies seem to have a certain appeal to members of the Far-Right, maybe it's because numerous candidates have strong ties to groups like the BNP and the EDL, maybe it's because they have somehow managed to attract the support of Britain First and Nick Griffin, maybe its, because they have a PR person who's specific job, is to deal with members who say racist stuff, etc. etc.
@BrendanD19 I'm halfway into the documentary, and it's just cherry picking at specific UKIP members. One was apparently a UKIP member who left the national front after realizing how crazy they were, and then another person banned from the UKIP for being racist, and some other people being cherry picked at. Do you know how many members are actually in UKIP? A few racists doesn't mean the whole party is racist, because Nigel Farage is completely against racism. Did you even hear that UKIP banned people with far-right connections from joining?
A bunch of British people thinking the party is racist doesn't inherently make it racist. Because the UKIP is pretty "anti-establishment" and in favor of radical change, naturally the media will demonize them. Nigel Farage has never implied he's racist either, and he basically represents the party.

@BrendanD19, the question is over whether UKIP *itself* is racist (which I don't think it inherently is, considering its emphasis on making it easier for what would be considered racial minorities not living within the E.U to come in live/work in the U.K.) Proposing a points system (though some may disagree with it) isn't exactly what one define as 'racist'. Racism is when an individual/group is specifically targeted exclusively on the basis of their race and ethnicity.
Everything the left disagrees with nowadays is catogorised as 'racist' and 'fascist.'
I don't categorize The LibDems/New Labour as Racist
@BrendanD19 Some of the left unfairly labels the nationalist right wing populist groups as racist though.
I would argue to the contrary as we know, and I think that many right-wing populists and most right wing nationalists are to some extent, either racist or bigoted.
But I was responding to the argument that the left labels EVERYTHING we don't like as racist when that simply is not true, and two prime examples are the LibDems and New Labour (or as they are now know, extinct)
