Reading Ish Awsum
At my school, we have required summer reading, and I'd estimate about 2/3 of the students never do it.
By one's parents, perhaps, but not by the government.
What's the point? We get a summer BREAK, so why should we have to do work?
The answer is obvious to me, No. Not everyone likes reading so not everyone should have to read. If you like reading then go for it. But if the school would pick the books you could read for it and it's one you don't like/genre you don't enjoy then would you sill want it? Probably not. Let students have a break and choose the book they want to read if they wanna do that.
