Single Gender Schools

I find the idea of single gender schools to be quite outdated. A core component of growing up is learning about how the genders work, what our differences are, and learning to be comfortable with another. I have a friend who, unfortunately has a mental disability and then on top of that was put into a single gender school. Now that he's an adult and interested in dating he's become extremely depressed simply because he doesn't quite understand women. It's a shame to see.

Good afternoon, I say yes. Yes we should have two separate schools. One for girls and one for boys. Research shows that girls and boys do better academically in single-sex classrooms. From the magazine Junior Scholastic, it states, " Research shows that teens in single-sex classes are more likely to take course that run counter to gender stereotypes compared with teens in coed classes." Now a days kids in schools want to take a class that goes their gender. If your a guy doing drama, you will probable be taken as a joke or get teased. Which is all true, in my school, guys think its cool to impress girls and get there attention by being the class clown and not doing their work. Also in recent surveys, it shows 67% of kids in single-sex classes cited an increase in their self-esteem and 87% of parents reported a boost in their child's motivation. Also by personal reference, girls are also cautious about what they say. They try not to say the wrong things and in this generation it's also about social media and dating. Another fact from the March Scholastic Junior.com, " For more than 100 years, some of the nation's finest private schools have experienced the benefits of single-sex schools." My conclusion is YES. We should have different schools for different genders.

school is not a place for socialization it is a place for learning, having girls and boys in the classroom together is bad because the students would be more worried about everyone else and not their schoolwork.
