The decision to take action (rather quickly) has both good effects and consequences. This was a hasty move by the White House: America hadn't even gathered allies who would assist them in this war. However, this move did show the rest of the world what America stands for, and does show Trump's capabilities.

And I really wonder, who on earth the American politicians think they are judging countries for their use of banned weaponry? There is not a single banned weapon, unless it's used by US against innocent people. Also Syrian government has repeatedly sent letters to UN, informing them about the terrorists' access to chemical gasses. But all those letters fell on deaf ears.

Holy crap. Pretty much everyone who answered this question has no idea what they're talking about. This is why politicians get away with crap, people get conned into believing it was right.

@DrCereal: That coming from a communist?
DrCereal says2017-04-11T23:26:00.2915509Z
@Mharman. Since society is picky about definitions, no, this is not coming from a communist but a Marxist. (A communist is now thought of as someone who supports trash regimes like the U.S.S.R., Cuba, China, etc., which, if you didn't guess, I don't support in the slightest.) I didn't come here to fight, I made a simple observation that reflects the country and society we live in: one that cares little about facts and reason. We tend to be moved by propaganda which leads us to allow politicians to do horrific things in our names. This isn't an opinion, this is fact, and it's made clear from this post.

OOoh, a war on my poll. I'm honored :3

@DrCereal: I wouldn't call this horrible. Unlike you, I have military insight on the issue. I have talked to medium ranking military official, and practically the whole military was in favor of Trump's move. Also remember this: he has a cabinet, a group of people he takes advice from. And with "Mad Dog" Maddis on his team, and it is pretty clear that Maddis was on board with the bombing. If that's where the military stands on the issue, I will proudly stand with them.
DrCereal says2017-04-12T00:54:41.2643509Z
@Mharman You have "military insight"? Quit kidding yourself, you have insight from one person's opinion. Until you can give more support for your claim, this argument is bunk. His "entire cabinet" was on his side? I don't doubt that because he surrounded himself with a bunch of corporate hawks. This argument has very little merit. And you seriously just reinforced my point about the whole propaganda thing by stating you would blindly believe in whatever the military claims is right. Gg
Mharman says2017-04-12T00:56:59.0029462Z
@DrCereal: Well, to be fair, the military have ACTUAL experience with this kind of stuff. And this soldier I talked to is a very honest person.
DrCereal says2017-04-12T00:59:31.3619509Z
@Mharman If the military agrees with the decision, then what is their reasoning for agreeing?
Mharman says2017-04-12T01:27:37.9715509Z
@DrCereal: It is based on their personal experience.
DrCereal says2017-04-12T01:39:08.4275509Z
@Mharman With what personal experience? Iraq? The war the failed miserably? Also, more on the military point. You claim "the military knows what it's doing", but that's no excuse for letting them sculpt your views and beliefs. The military can be corrupt as well.
Mharman says2017-04-12T01:42:32.8405462Z
@DrCereal: I'm going to trust them on this one. Highly unlikely that the military is corrupt.
DrCereal says2017-04-12T02:06:42.9327813Z
"Highly unlikely" They receive over $600 billion in funding every year. They work for the government. I'm just saying you should look into it more before just trusting anyone.
Mharman says2017-04-12T13:17:25.7849965Z
*Sigh* Marxists...
DrCereal says2017-04-12T18:08:04.4165965Z
@Mharman. How does what I said relate at all to me being a Marxist? Realizing corruption exists is a common sense position. Like I said, I'm not saying you shouldn't ever listen to them. I'm saying you need to do the research yourself.
Mharman says2017-04-12T18:27:20.3765965Z
They have experience, and know things that we don't... I said "Marxists" because is it common in your philosophy to say everyone is corrupt.
DrCereal says2017-04-12T22:20:46.4465965Z
Alright, I'm done responding now because you just ignored what I said. Just... Make sure to research. K? Bye
