Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010: Does the American public support financial reform?

  • Public not private support

The US public definitely supports reform in the financial sector, and has supported such reform far longer than the 6 years since the financial crisis. The problem with financial reform is not public support, but the rent-seeking financial executives and lack of political will to reform, or even any clear idea of what reform would be.

  • Financial reform is growing in momentum.

Things like Wolf-Pac which are trying to remove money from politics are gaining a lot of ground. People are also getting tired of the idea of lobby groups who essentially perform legalized bribery to enact laws, and on the other side of the coin all Americans think we should start spending less, it's just a matter of what we should be spending less on.
