Out of date This may have been a good idea years ago but now employment is accessible to anyone with the right experience and qualifications.
To gain a job where Affirmative action has played a part belittles to employee and undermines their success in acquiring the role.
I would really struggle to explain that I had factored this in to any recruiting process and had in result favoured someone over the otherwise best candidate if they were not so without.
Not gonna happen.. The Religious feel rightly under threat and are being pushed out of power by a growing secular sentiment. A truce is not possible until we have a fully democratic secular government that is not influenced by believers of the supernatural. Whilst people insist that unproven beliefs give them rights over others they must be resisted.
I don't recall asking for their point of view but they insist on pushing it anyway with the blind conviction of the blinkered believer.
No, why would You assume that?
It is rather strange to assume that a supernatural being crafted it with no reason.
I think the ongoing chemical reactions that we call life is an awesome thing. The chemistry of nature is equally amazing.
The creatures and environments they produce are quite fantastic but still it is all on this mote of dust we call Earth.
It is enhancing it. I communicate with far more people over a much more diverse range than my parents ever did.
I never talked to foreign people very often growing up, now it's almost daily. The people who are near by I see often and when needed we have more communication as texts etc are additional.
Technology is awesome and only detrimental if you use it to replace visiting people because you are lazy, hardly techs fault it makes you feel a bit better you emailed them instead.
No reason not to be.. When I was a child I was taken to church and had to listen to numerous assumptions put forwards as facts.
My Q: How do we know our religion is the right one?
Church A: We believe we are right because of the Bible.
Even to an eight year old it was clear that it offered no proof just statements, odd ones at that.
I gave up on the idea of religion just like any other unnecessary proposition.
I believe so.. Biologically an organism needs time to grow to maturity. Depending on genetic variations & environmental factors the rate of growth will vary.
With Psychological maturity genes & environment are equally important and explain why some are seen as more mature for there age than others. At what point you declare someone mentally mature is hard to define but given that wisdom from life experience would be a good indicator of maturity then the age of someone would imply more life experience. It depends if they have learnt from it I guess.
No No No Our soldiers fight for us not the EU!
We need the freedom to choose when and where all of our forces are deployed and that it is always in our interest.
Imagine a situation where our troops are in a war we voted against and is not in our interest, they would potentially be fighting against us.
Right to life? I could argue that you do not meet my standards as a human being and there for should be euthanized. The right to life is fundamental and it's erosion is detrimental to us all.
If the person would have no quality of life due to suffering intense physical or psychological pain then that is a case for the courts, however you cannot just take a general eugenics approach.
You're choice of picture is quite insulting btw, I genuinely do hope you never have a child with a disability.
A rich vocabulary allows for more expression of thought. We should all broaden our vocabulary as doing so allows us to express ourselves more succinctly.
This allows for a way to reason on a given topic with more focus and greater depth.
It should also mean that we are be able to express ourselves in broader terms and be less superficial in our meanings.
Let people suffer because you don't agree? Your statement has some religious undertones and whilst I could be wrong I suspect that you are fear mongering to push your beliefs.
Involuntary euthanasia is a last resort and morality plays a very large part, it is about easing suffering not the trivial ending of lives.
Some copy pasta to consider:
The person wants to live but is killed anyway. This is usually murder but not always. Consider the following example:
A soldier has their stomach blown open by a shell burst. They are in great pain and screaming in agony. They beg the army doctor to save their life. The doctor knows that they will die in ten minutes whatever happens. As he has no painkilling drugs with him he decides to spare the soldier further pain and shoots them dead.
A person is seen at a 10th floor window of a burning building. Their clothes are on fire and fire brigade has not yet arrived. The person is screaming for help. A passer by nearby realises that within seconds the person will suffer an agonising death from burns. He has a rifle with him and shoots the screaming person dead.
A man and a woman are fleeing from a horde of alien monsters notorious for torturing human beings that they capture. They fall into a pit dug to catch them. As the monsters lower their tentacles into the pit to drag the man out he begs the woman to do something to save him. She shoots him, and then kills herself.
The morality of these and similar cases is left for the reader to think about.
