Women aren't required to register for the draft. Thank God I've never had to either but if women are really concerned about equality this is an issue that should be talked about. If women were sent over seas to kill or be killed and men weren't it would be an outrage but "equality when it's convenient" right. Also what about the policy that when a ship is sinking women and children should be saved first? I understand not letting a child drown but what makes a woman any more deserving of the guarantee of safety than a man? Is it because men are better swimmers? Because I don't think that's necessarily true or even relative if we're talking about a shipwreck in the middle of the ocean. Men are also given custody of their children only 8% of the time after a divorce. Men's child support payments are on average twice that of a woman's even though women are twice as likely to default on those payments. Men also on average are given longer sentences for the same crimes committed than women. There are also the lesser important cultural issues (which is often a major crisis for feminist's) such as men being portrayed as idiots on TV like family guy or the simpsons, men stereotypically aren't supposed to show emotion, and men are culturally supposed to hold the door for women and pay for the date.
