'SOUND' is the vibration of particles through a medium (air, water etc...)
'HEARING' is a human perception of sound
I saw a post relating this to quantum mechanics. That is quite possibly the most stupid thing I have ever read, apart from the Apollo landings being faked. The undetermined states of photon polarisation has nothing to do with a tree making a sound. If the tree hits the floor it will produce a vibration that travels through the air and the floor. If there is no human around, then no-one HEARS it, but it made a SOUND
