Not everyone will abuse drugs... Not everyone is going to abuse drugs... And there is also a safe way to use them. There would be more knowledge about them instead of it being "No you can't do that because it's bad and you'll die" That's like saying people shouldn't have sex because they'll get pregnant. It is a possibility, but there are so many other outcomes, and also, if you use properly and carefully, you won't die or OD, etc.; just like how if you have sex, you won't always get pregnant or get someone pregnant. It's for pleasure... Also, if they become legalized, they are not going to cost as much, so some people won't lose everything they have to "get their fix". And about the comment about children with parents who use; I would assume the children wouldn't be around or have access to the drugs, especially if it is in another facility separate from the child. And my favorite comment about abortions becoming legalized.... Abortions are not fun, and they were only made illegal because before, a woman HAD to be a mother, yet if she were to bring the child into the world and not support it and have to give it up, the child would be emotionally distraught. Abortions were made legal because people realized that not everyone is cut out to be parents and it is not fair to deny them the right to continue with their life. Bringing a child into the world when you're unfit is irresponsible and unfair, so why put the child through all the stress and pain when you could get an abortion. Drugs and abortions are on two different sides of the spectrum. There is medical uses for drugs; pain relief, anxiety, even in therapy it can help tremendously; and there is the recreational use. Lastly, prisons around the country wouldn't have so much overcrowding because of drug related crimes. It wouldn't be as much of a problem that it is now!
