Inefficient. Unethical. Unconstitutional. The United States government has only done its citizens a huge disservice by criminalizing drug use. Every individual in this country enjoys the right to bodily autonomy. The legal foundation for this argument lies in our Founding Documents: the rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Furthermore, among these rights, is also the right to property. Our bodies are our property. If someone sees that using drugs makes them happy, that is also their right to pursue happiness.
The government has not competently dealt with drugs. By making drugs illegal, they have empowered the cartels. Hence, drugs are often associated with crime. Legalize and tax the drugs, and suddenly you have a boom in that industry as a legal business. The governments of varying states can then also use that tax money to fund different sectors of their economy.
The war on drugs is a wreck, and it's time we take our rights back. Decriminalize and legalize all drugs.
Free Enterprise Decision. The function of government is not to dictate the qualifications of one to work. I feel very strongly in the decision of an employer to determine who they wish to hire and who they do not. If the government begins to decide that a smoker cannot work, they will soon be granted the right to dictate who can and cannot work on more arbitrary standards.
If an employer makes the private decision to prohibit smokers from working for their company, that's their choice.
Undecided, Leaning 'No'. There are simply too many complications in the euthanasia question for me to confidently provide a 'yes' or 'no'.
Firstly, as a Christian I believe that for one to kill themselves is against the will of God. We should not be taking matters of suicide into consideration, as God wants us on Earth for a reason and if we defy this we shall burn in Hell.
Second, euthanasia laws tie the hands of doctors and other medical personnel who may not be too keen on killing their patient. Meaning often times the consent of these laws goes one way or the other, and I feel that two-party consent is very important, and that euthanasia be a private contract rather than a law if at all it is established.
I acknowledge the personal aspect of euthanasia, but to me it is simply too grey.
What kind of a question...? I'm really not sure why we're even talking about this. You really have to be some kind of special to think that ads should be banned. Advertisements are a way for businesses and others with products to advertise to the greater public what they have. In terms of ad-ware (i.E, internet scams), just get an ad blocker or a security app. There's an amazing thing called technology. Try it out!!!
