I believe campaign finance reform should be fixed following the billions of dollars spent in the 2012 U.S. Presidential Election. I believe the use of that amount of money for a campaign is absolutely wasteful and its simply just a circle-jerk for the wealthy Americans who pass these amounts out like candy. Feed a hungry family, purchases some houses and give them away to deserving families, fund a food bank. Help the poor people in this country that you've pilfered from and used over the last several decades.
Fairness has very little to do with elections these days. Now, it is all about exposure. Paying for ads, going on talk shows, having more of your message to drown out your opponent. It no longer matters how intelligent or how practical a politician is, it only matters which rich guy supports him or her.
Given the billions of dollars spent in the 2012 US Presidential Election, campaign financing has clearly become an issue begging for reform. By allowing unlimited funds into elections, we allow the richest individuals even more power over our politicians. Politicians who are in the pockets of large donors are able to spend more time campaigning, while those representing are larger number of voters spend more time fund raising.
Yes should campaign finance reform should be fixed following the billions of dollars spent in the 2012 U.S. Presidential Election. If all of that money was put to better us, like trying to fix the economy, we would be much better off then it being spent on stupid TV ads.
Campaigns have gotten to a point in which money trumps opinions. Other parties are shut out from the public spectacle because of lack of funds. If we set up a maximum spending limit this gives smaller parties a chance to share opinions. Clearly, the people of the USA are growing tired of the same two parties. Also, in any election one party will have the majority of the money. This party will be able to publish more, and show more commercials to a wider audience. Campaigning is about wide spread information. The more you can put yourself out there, the more votes. But to put ones self out there, money is needed. We need a maximum for campaign dollars to keep fair and equal campaigning.
