Should economic problems be prioritized over social problems?

  • Social problems are generally speaking a byproduct of faulty economic policy.

First of all, The insinuation in the question that these two are seperate is completely wrong, The vast majority of social problems such as poverty, Homelessness and so on are the direct result of poor economic policies. For example, If we wanted to improve the state of the black community in the US, The first thing we would have to do is to get rid of government housing (which creates ghetto's), Cut welfare programs (which are to blame for the underrepresentation in the workforce, Compared to the size of the black community and which also contribute to the single motherhood rate), Which would hopefully lead to a cultural change and would thereby solve a good portion of the social issues that community faces. . . . The same thing is true for other minorities and for many whites as well. . . . . The economy is essentially a societies foundationd, And you can't build a prosperous society on a faulty foundation.

  • Yes, Focus on the real issues

Even though I do recognise the issues with abortion, Equality, And other social issues, There won't be social issues when the economy fails and everyone is rationing food. We need to focus on green energy to maximize the employment rate and revenue. Green energy will produce millions of jobs and billions upon billions of dollars. The new bill that passed in atlanta that will create more sustainable energy will regenerate over $11. 8 BILLION for the city.

  • They are the biggest problems we face today

If a boomer could land a job in a big tech company for having a degree in History, And pay off their loan in 5 years and afford a home by the age of 30, While no young person today could do the same, We have a serious problem here. Our economy is terrible. Yeah sure, Unemployment is at a record low, But wages are stagnating, College tuition has skyrocketed, And we are in a midst of the worst housing crisis in history. Let me know when Trump fixes all of this because I am still waiting. Until then, The only people who even decided to try to fix this were the new Democratic candidates. Their policies may be crazy and lofty, But at least they are actually thinking of doing something as opposed to just letting the whole world burn.

  • Yes it should

Economic problems should be prioritized over social problems because if one's country economic's level or growth are high than these social problem would not be happening. Now this statement didn't specify which country they are talking about so there will be a bit confusing like America which is a capitalist country where some country like Malaysia is a country where government meddles in our economics affair. So if there won't be any problem such as people that are rich getting more rich while people that are poor gets more poor. Malaysia's wage gap are not that bad as to what's happening in America and other capitalist country. Furthermore, Countries that are poor are always full of social problem such as robberies, Rapes, Purse-snatching and much more. For example, India. No offense though but India's economical problem do need a bit more of an improvement. Plus their population are high so there is that. So all in all i here as the positive team highly believes that this statement here is true!

  • This does not work

America has seen the wage gap grow. The rich have become so rich and the poor have become poorer. The middle class is shrinking and you believe by boosting the economy you are doing the right thing.
Social issues have to solved because you are entering into a corporate industrial feudal system. Companies suck up all of the government pork and the people in congress believe you will benefit from the crumbs that fall off. For decades economic policies have not improved our lives. Those rich people use those bonuses to make themselves richer and pay everyone less or cut expenses.
So you make Atlanta green but the people still fare worse and are not any richer.

  • We can walk and chew bubble gum.

Congressmen/women are not all focused on the same issues as there are various divisions that specialize in different sections of our government. This means that while one section works on policy involving the economy, Another would be working on social issues. Depending on the council your on depends on what takes priority for your council.

The economy IS a social problem. It affects society. Anything that changes socially affects the economy and anything that changes economically affects society. So focus on both and allow more freedom! Freedom of risk and reward. Freedom of life, Liberty, And the pursuit of happiness.
