Should Evanston, Illinois pay $25, 000 in Reparations to colored people?

  • No responses have been submitted.
  • No because it will not have the desired outcome.

It will not have the desired outcome for the providers or the beneficiaries. The providers will be giving money with the intent of providing a reconciliation of racism. The beneficiaries will take the money and not accept the reconciliation. This will also implement a policy that is fundamentally racist. The beneficiaries will not be lifted put of poverty like they expect.

The concept pf reparations makes no logical sense anyway. Should it be based on skin tone? Or should it be based on a basis of proving ones ancestor was a slave? If its the former, What shade is appropriate? If its the latter theres no reason anyone can't apply who can prove they have slavery in their ancestry? (asians)
