Should farmers be free to sell yield directly to consumers?

  • Is this really a question?

How can you say no and still sound like a rational person? If a farmer spends literally every day growing and harvesting his own products, why shouldn't he be able to market it as such? And if someone buys his product, they should assume the accountability in case they get sick. It's a shame to see so many farmers that have to sell their product through major industries, through which they earn a small percentage of the monetary value of THEIR OWN PRODUCTS.

  • Sure, why not?

I'm not sure why they can't. I buy many of my produce from a local farm. It's so much better then what I can get at ShopRite. ShopRite claims they get their stuff from local farms but I would much rather help the farmers out directly then through a major supermarket chain.
