Should misrepresenting the law be a punishable offence for a police officer

Asked by: MasturDbtor
  • Police Officers Should NOT be Allowed to Lie to citizens about what the law says or what laws are in force

The example here is a police officer lying to someone that filming police on the job is illegal when in fact not only is it not illegal it's a constitutionally protected right.

Police officers should not threaten citizens with misrepresentations of the law. Police who try this should be fired and given a jail sentence. Ignorance of the law (actually believing that it was illegal) should not be an excuse, because if you are hired to uphold the law you should know what the law is.
