Orthodox Judaism should allow women to become rabbis, just as all faiths and denominations should allow women to join their clergy. In every professional field (at least those not dependent upon physical upper body strength), women have proven themselves to be just as capable as men. Shutting out half of the population means that you will inevitably have a worse clergy.
I think that Orthodox Judaism should allow women to become rabbis. it is a new day and time and today women are a lot stronger and know how to do a lot more then back in our grandparents day. I think that allowing women into Judaism to become rabbis is a good thing.
Granted, the fact that this idea is completely at odds with our views on humanity at present, organizations like the Orthodox Jewish should simply shrivel up and die away. Their organization is a self licking, guilt ridden ice cream cone.
Any time you look at a group whose foundational beliefs are adhered to, and are not egalitarian, that organization should be allowed to fade into irrelevance.
Orthodox Judaism does not have to allow women to become rabbis. As a religion, they are free to determine the practice of their beliefs in whichever way they choose, as long as the way they practice does not infringe on the basic human rights of other people or hurt others.
Orthodox Judaism should not allow women to become rabbis because it is not in the ancient doctrines to allow them to do so. Women rabbits are not even necessary to the cause of Orthodox Judaism. In addition, there has to be fields and occupations that it is okay for men to have solely.
