  • Gets Young Adults Invoved

Young people need to support voting because over 50% of people voting are over 50. We need to get young people involved in the system and voting. If we made voting mandatory then younger people would be drawn to the polls. We need to get young adults intrested in voting. American democracy

  • Should voting be compulsory?

I believe that the answer is no. Mandatory voting would infringe our right to be American. People have reasons why they choose not to vote or why they can't vote. So, we as the people of America should not violate the American people's right to choose to abstain their vote.

  • Just the thought of mandatory voting is a dangerous Orwellian concept

This could become a tool for retribution: example IRS NSA ect. The government should not have that much power . Just the thought may dissway potential voters from even registering. Who will pay for all the people who still dont have computers. What about the mentally handicapped who will decide who they will cast there votes.

  • Voting should not be mandatory.

Our country is based on freedoms. People are free not to engage in the political process if they so choose. Those people that choose not to participate should police themselves to not complain about the outcome, but making voting mandatory would only result in disinterested, uninformed people making the choices and that is not a good way to elect a president.
