  • Random Locker Searches a Smart Idea

Random locker searches in elementary and high schools are a good idea because students can't always be trusted. More and more students continue to harm other students because their privacy is respected too much. When a student attends a public school, their privacy rights go out the window in the general interest of all other people at that school.

  • Yes, students do not have absolute freedom.

If we are talking about students in school, then they are minors and do not have absolute freedom. They need to be kept safe from their own impulses, so it might be all right if the administration does a periodic search for drugs and such. With adults it is a different story.

  • Random Locker Searches are needed to maintain a safe environment.

Locker Searches are not an invasion of privacy. Under the Constitution, people have right to their privacy, but lockers are the school's property. Students do not own the lockers. Locker searches are needed to keep every student safe. Knowing that there is a possibility of their locker being searched, students are less likely to bring inappropriate things to school.

  • It should be allowed

The locker is not the. Students property it is the schools as it say in most hand books that the locker is barrow to the student but is school property still NOT THE STUDENT. So teachers /staff have the right to open lookers. As a student I say the teachers have every right to search lockers. As a person I say teache have every right to because there could be weapon or drug in any of the locker.

  • Death could happen

When kids carry weapons or drugs that they carry to fight other kids with someone could die also teachers and with drugs they might want to die so they take it and give it to other poeple that don't even know what it is and it can mees them up really bad like they won't ever get a job it will be had to get money for they family

  • Locker checks are a yes!

If there are locker checks then people will less likely bring bad stuff into the school. With locker checks, It assures there are no dangerous items in them. If lockers do have illegal substances or or something bad in them then the proper authorities will deal with it.

School is a place to learn, Not a place to bring dangerous items. So, Only learning material should be brought to school. “Locker checks keep students healthy. Locker checks help students stay both physically and mentally healthy because it discourages students from bringing firearms and especially drugs. “ said essayforum. Com. If students aren't hiding anything then why not have them.

  • Yes, We need locker checks

WE need locker checks because people that think they shouldn't check their lockers think that the locker is their property and they can go through your stuff. But the locker isn't yours and they can't go through your stuff. Another reason that we need locker checks is because school shootings are becoming more popular through out the US. Random locker checks will

  • I think yes.

I think this because kids bring drugs knifes/guns. Kids could be so many kids/teachers could be killed and even the principal/dean! This would put the whole school in absolute CHAOS. If kids bring drugs to school it would be the best place to sell them because there are 3 grades to sell drugs to. The 7th/8th grade would by it more because teenagers would be more likely to buy drugs an sell them to OTHER kids and then on and on and on!

  • No locker searching

It's been said once and I will say it again. Look at the 14th amendment. It says in simple form that humans have the right of privacy or the right to not have someone to come at anytime they feel like to search their house, person, or belongings. That means that students should not have their lockers chosen. Now I know what some of you might be thinking. "It's not the student's locker, it's the school's". Well, yeah, but whatever the student puts in the locker is his or hers, that is not property of the school. And think about it. If you bring your laptop to school and you break it it is not the school's problem. I thought if you brought something from home to school it is not the school's problem? If so, why are schools searching students private property?

  • I don't think their should be locker searches

I don't think their should e locker searches because it is a invasion of personal space and it is a violation of the fourth amendment. So in that case it should not e allowed it will loose you students trust they might lash out and hurt other people for no reason.

  • People have a right to privacy

NOOOOO People could become embarrassed of what the teachers/staff may find and they can bring what they want to school, How would the teachers/staff feel if the students randomly broke into their house and looked through everything, That is exactly what that is like! Let us have our privacy like the 4th amendment says!

  • There shouldn't be locker searches

Its and invasion of privacy, Its also a violation of the 4th amendment it clearly states
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, Houses, Papers, And effects, Against unreasonable searches and seizures, Shall not be violated, And no Warrants shall issue, But upon probable cause, Supported by Oath or affirmation, And particularly describing the place to be searched, And the persons or things to be seized.
