  • It depends on what they did and who did it.

I think that the answer to this question depends entirely on the context of their crime and the child in question. Obviously we wouldn't put a 13 year old in an adult prison no matter how heinous their crime was. But a 16 or 17 year old gangbanging thug who gunned down someone in cold blood sure, toss 'em in with the adult population.

  • More Teens Should be Tried as Adults

In many cases, teens commit crimes that are too heinous for the juvenile court system. These individuals and some others should be tried as adults. The penalties for many crimes in juvenile court aren't harsh enough, and even dangerous offenders can find themselves free far too soon. More teens need to be tried as adults.

  • Juvie isn't as good as it seems

According to the Open Society Institute, A man named Francis Guzman was put into a juvenile detention center at the age of 15. He was put into juvie for rehabilitation, But all he came out with was post-traumatic-stress-disorder, Anxiety, And depression. He says, And I quote, “There wasn’t a day that passed when there wasn’t some sort of physical or sexual abuse. ” What’s worse, The youth in the center were put up against each other to fight like dogs. Several people have similar stories. The overcrowded prison supposedly used for rehabilitation was set up as a fighting ring and a place where children got depressed.

  • Do the crime do the time

A big boy wanted to do big boy things so he goanna go to big boy jail. He was bold enough to go and break the law so he should be brave enough to make it jail. Jail will teach him a lesson, especially an adult jail. Juvenal detention centers wont teach the lesson.

Teen criminals should be locked up in adult prisons. We think yes.More teens should be tried as adults.Kids who do adult crimes deserve adult time.In many cases, teens commit crimes that are too heinous for the juvenile court system. The penalties for many crimes in juvenile court aren’t harsh enough, and even dangerous offenders can find themselves free far too soon.If you need another jail one for teens and one for adults it would represent more expenditure for governments.Tax payers have to pay this additional cost when the money can go to other things such as health care and social services.Juvenile sentences are not tough enough for teens who commit crimes like murder well they deserve to go in an adult prison.Moving on… Teen criminals should also be locked up in adult prisons because of what they did to get in prison was obviously bad but, at adult prisons, teenagers would actually learn from their consequences by the strict rules. Teenagers also can have the personality of an adult and it would definitely be appropriate for them to be in an adult prison even their crime, if its a bad crime they deserve it, a crime is a crime and age doesn’t matter. One recent study by the Justice policy institute found that for most states and places, it costs roughly 100,000$ to incarcerate one kid at a younger jail. It’s obviously expensive for those prison. If a kid steals a lollipop, your not gonna send them to adult prison. But if they commit a murder, they need to pay the price at an adult prison for what they did.Places from coast to coast could see a major reduction in costs associated with the juvenile justice system if youth prisons are involved which takes up 1 billion dollars a year.A couple of years ago in May, two 12-year old girls lured Payton Leutner into the woods, and stabbed her 12 times and left her for dead. The two teenage girls claim that they were trying to appease the slenderman, a fictional bogeyman who preys on children.Wouldn’t you think they deserve a punishment at adult prison, a prison for younger people would just let them off simply, adult prisons would tell them not to commit any more crimes by their extremely strict rules and charges. And what would you expect adults to do to teenagers, they are locked up no one would take them out and they have their depression and stress to deal with.Decades ago there were only one prison in each place no matter if you were 7 or 59 you were there no matter what you did or how old you are. There are some cons on teens being tried as adults but, that really doesn’t matter over here they should be tried as adults for many pros that have been told in this 1st argument.Treating people depending on their age instead of their actions is not a horrible idea and should never happen.

  • Minors who commit crime should really go to a regular prison for them to know how bad their action was.

We should prevent any further bad cases at a young age by putting them into a regular prison no matter what crime they did as long as it is defined by law. We should teach minors in a way that they would not think of doing the action they did again. By doing this so, this will prevent any further cases in the future since we already molded them to be a good citizen. Yes there are other ways of telling or punishing them for what they did but do you think that shallow punishing will really stop them from doing anything bad again? In New Delhi, India they witnessed more than 5% increase in crimes, including rapes and thefts, committed by juveniles in 2016, according to government data. The number of crimes allegedly committed by juveniles last year was 2499, up from 2366 in 2015, with a significant increase in the number of rapes and vehicle thefts. The total number of juveniles apprehended by Delhi Police in 2016 was 3808, 238 more than that in 2015. The data was provided by Union minister of state for home Hansraj Gangaram Ahir in the Lok Sabha. This only happens in India and what more around the world? Are we just going to get their gadgets, no partying and no cars for a week ground for minors? When are we going to be strict enough to give the punishment they deserve? No matter how shallow or deep, how young or old are they, they should taste the real consequence of what they did wrong.

  • Yes they should

I think they should because if it was a big crime it is mostly saying they can just get away with it and not go to adult prison but if it is a 11 year old or a 14 year old then no because they have not learned yet good or bad things.

  • They really should!!!

There are several cases in which the teens commit crimes that are too bad for the juvenile court system. If they go tho jail with adults. They will realize how bad their crime is and when they finally get out, they will clean up their act. Besides, they obviously would deserve it!

  • Chickens don't go to jail when they commit crimes, so kids shouldn't either.

CHickens dont go to adult jail they recieve no punishment and this is only fair because chickens are superior to all other life and can do whatever they want. And equal rights are important o the same should apply to children so i strongly urge you to vote for children to not be punished for their crimes because they deserve better than that. You could even give them a donut or two to make them happy.

  • No they shouldn't!!

They don't learn anything in jail. They would learn more after their sentence in juvenile detention center they should go to a rehab center where they learn the right way again. Instead of being surrounded by adults that will tell these kids they are doing right by committing these crimes.

  • No teenagers should not be tried as adults

When kids turn 13, that is when you before a teenager. At the age of 13 their brains have no fully developed. When you at 17, 18, 19 most teenager do stupid things and once they get older around 25, 30, and up they look back at when they were young and realized all the stupidity they've done in their lives. When a teenager go to jail for something it makes it harder for them to have a better life and have to struggle more then teens that are struggling without going to jail.

  • Teens don't belong with adult criminals

Teens are basically old kids, they like to have fun, but sometimes what they think is fun , is just plain stupid.
It should depend on: how old they are, what they did and if they have a criminal record.
That is from my perspective, I might be wrong, but i dont know
