  • Teenagers become adults

Teenagers are just a few years away from becoming legal adults. How are they suppose to just start acting like adults at eighteen if they have never been treated like an adult before? Becoming an adult is such a big change from being a minor, and learning how to be independent before going off to college and living in the real world is a huge thing. Teenagers need to start acting like adults and having that responsibility around fifteen.

  • In certain situations

If earning their own living teenagers should be treated as adults. When applying for jobs teenagers should be treated as adults. Not young teens such as 13 and 14 but I think 15+ have enough maturity and knowledge to take on the world if given the unrestricted opportunity. However we are not given such opportunities.

  • To an extent.

If you want teenagers to start acting like adults, they must be given adult responsibilities. Real world experiences are necessary for them to grow, and you're doing them a disservice if you withhold those experiences until the day they turn 18. There's no switch that gets flipped on their 18th birthday that magically grants them maturity.

However, they should not be granted unlimited rights and responsibilities overnight at any age younger than 18 either. They're going through a transition into adulthood and will still require guidance and supervision.

  • Yes, they should.

Teenagers need to be treated equally and while some might argue that this can influence drinking and other things, unfortunately kids are already doing that and treating them with more respect would probably help it stop. Giving teens a more equal relationship could help them in many ways, emotionally and mentally.

  • Students deserve to be treated with respect and equality!!

Haven’t you ever heard the phrase, “Treat others the way you wanted to be treated?” If you want us to respect you, then respect the students. When you try to hold children in class for 8 hours straight, and only a 30 minute break in between, they go crazy. If you focus on our negatives, then all we will think about is negativity. We need to learn about the real world, our parents won’t always be there.

  • Yes teens should be treated like adults!

When some teens mess up make mistakes and do the wrong things theirs the other majority of teen population who follow the rules. The problem here is that parents feel like they don't hove to treat their teenage sons and daughters like a adult they don't feel that when respect is given to them they don't have to give it back.

  • Teenagers should be treated like adults

Teenagers should be treated like adults as they can be civilized as adults and they are mature enough to be adults. They can make their own choices and can fight for themselves. We should give them oppurtunities to take in the real world. So teenagers should be treated like adults.

  • Y e s

    Teenagers should be taught in school how the world works. They should be treated like adults with respect. That way, when they do become 18 they understand what to do. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

  • Yes kids should be treated as adults

Teens are growing and should not be shot down and labeled as "just a kid", so they are not able to speak their minds. Some adults think it's reasonable to not listen to teenagers just because of their age but everyone perceives things differently. So if everyone just would listen to each other maybe this world could be a better place with many different perspectives of the world.

  • Teenagers should not be treated like kids!! It's insulting, demeaning & annoying!!!!

Teenagers should not be treated like kids, they are growing young adults that should be treated with respect & equality.
Teenagers need guidance to make the right choices & to mature as they grow up.
They should not be overprotected (but definitely be given advice to make right choices) they need to be prepared for learning to drive, drinking age & turning 21.
If teenagers are controlled too much, they will become frustrated & angry.
So teenagers should be treated with respect & with equality as they are young adults growing up & to make their own decisions (with advice & guidance, of course) to prepare themselves for what to come.

  • In certain cases no eg in court

If the are treated like adults in court, They may end up in the same facilities with adults this is even more dangerous as they are with more experienced older criminals. They are mentally not able to handle the treatment adults are given. They may be physically and sexually assulted as they are too weak to deffend themself. This is also saying that they will have no future. There is no hope for them

  • Because they are still evolving into maturity.

From the beginning of time nothing has changed in the growth to maturity, Even 18 is to early to vote for most teenagers. Teenagers are still easily swayed and most are not to inerested in politics. It is most important that keep politics in the adult arena, It's to important to lower voting age.

  • Stop forcing these kids to grow up quickly

If you think that they should then something's seriously wrong with you. We don't need anymore teenagers that think they're grown and that they can drink and do adult things. Who cares if they're a few years away from adulthood? Even when you're at 18 you're still a teenager anyway. That's like saying a child is a few years away from their teen years so they're allowed to drink and do other things that you see these stupid teens do. You see how that doesn't make any sense? Why can't you just let these kids enjoy their childhood. You people are just annoying as heck. I'm sure nobody wants to be forced to grow up and turn out to be miserable people like I'm sure some of you are.

  • Why does everyone want to grow up so quickly

A long time ago, teenagers were treated as adults and they were pretty much forced to grow up. We're in the 21st century now, I don't understand why these people want teenagers to engage in adult activities even when they're not ready yet. You people are the reason why you see teens drinking and engaging in adult activities. It's because of the stupid things that you guys say. Treating a teenager like a kid is not disrespectful or rude in any way. They're kids anyway, and I personally think that forcing them to take on adult responsibilities when they're not ready to is rude in disrespectful. My god, let them enjoy their childhood. I bet some of you guys out there want teens to grow up simply because you grew up too fast so you want others to. Just let them live.

  • Why is everyone desperate to grow up

  • Well no obviously

If you're a teenager, you're still a child whether you like it or not. This is one of the reasons why teens engage in adult activities simply because of what these idiots keep saying. A lot of people say that they can make their own choices when in reality half of the choices that they make are just downright terrible. Their brains are still developing and they will continue to develop until they are about 25, and if you were half the adult you expect these teenagers to act like, you would obviously know. And I feel extremely sad for those kids out there who just want to enjoy the rest of their childhood but can't because some random idiot thinks that it would be a great idea for them to be given responsibilities that they aren't ready for..

But hey, if you want teens to engage activities not having a clue about what they're doing and/or the serious consequences that can come, then go ahead.

  • No no no

Bc some teens can't make a good choices and they are not mature enough to be an adult or they might do drugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So no no no no no no no no no no nono no nono no no no no no no no no no no no no non no no no no nooooooo

  • No no no

No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no

  • No they should be treated like kids till their at least 16

Who gives a shit if their peers pick on them for having no freedom or a 7pm bed time. Also the only time a CHILD should see their friends outside of school is SUPERVISED play dates no going to the movies or any of that bullshit. Just kidding but seriously they should be eased into adult hood very slowly i know that from experience my mom died when i was age 16 and i was pretty much forced to grow up and take on household responsibility very quickly.

  • Not as kids but not even as adults.

Teenage is a very delicate stage of life...Foundation of a strong future can be laid at this stage... Teenagers are not at all fully aware about the difficulties and practicalities of life .. But they think that they are actually aware of everything...Treating them like adults would further affirm and strengthen their belief.. They need to be understood and led to correct path as friends..The only thing is they should not be treated like kids .. But that does not mean that they should be treated like adults...
