Should the government continue to fund the space program?

  • I think without space, humanity would die

Eventually, earth will die and if people aren't away from earth when that happens, we will all die. I like the idea of staying alive and finding a new habitable space place. I think there might also might be some cool stuff in space, like cures for cancer or just some sick aliens

  • NASA is important

We are in space now on this space rock called Earth, we need to study the stars and have a greater understanding of what is out there. Every penny spent goes into research. NASA does more than playing with rockets. They are scientists that have studied their whole lives and know what they are doing. NASA isn't just about space exploration, they are moving technology forward. NASA creates useful technology and studies other fields of science. They have a much larger impact than you think. Keep them going or there will be problems.

  • Why waste precious money that we can use to save lives?

Most of you have probably been walking down the street when you see a homeless person begging for money and starving to death. All of the tax money that we pay goes to the government, and it is being wasted on exploring space. People claim that exploring space will add to our knowledge about religion and extra terrestrial life. They also say that once Earth has become too polluted, we can move up to a planet in space. First of all, we don't NEED to know about why things happen or how they started. The more important question is how we should keep Earth safe and maintain its hospitality to life for millions of years. That leads up to my second point. Why would there ever be any need for humans to move to different planets? Only if the Earth became too polluted or its environment became too hostile to live in. Those are factors that WE control. If you go to a hotel, you are getting a room to stay in, but you are also expected to do certain things that maintain the room and keep it in its current state. It is the same thing with Earth. We live on it, and we are expected to not pollute so that the environment stays clean for our own safety. Therefore, if our planet does become too polluted, it would be the people's own fault that they have to move away. Third of all, the money that is going to help pay for NASA and space exploration is also taking away from the amount of money used to help the needy. Some people just don't want to work, but those who really can't due to some kind of illness are in trouble. They are dying away because they aren't getting enough money for food. If you were in that situation, think of how you would feel about money being used to send people off into space rather than help support you and your innocent family's lives.

  • Because we need a back up planet to live on

When earth is destroyed where would we go? Of course we need a new planet or do you want everyone to die other others some might die helping but human must survive! At least let us explore our own solar system we must survive or nothing will live that can move.

  • The government should keep funding the NASA space program

I think this because once our planet is to dirty to live on we need to be able to get to a different planet and live there. Now there is the possibility that people here stop littering and recycle everything and stop polluting the air but I really doubt that so they should keep funding the space program

  • Yes they should

They should because we need this research say what if the earth was in danger and we needed to evacuate to another planet? We will need information so we can survive. That's why we need research or we stay in a polluted planet your choice m8 either we die or we survive you choose people. I rest my case

  • They Should Support

The space program is a revolutionary thing in which after our terrible reign of pollution could be forgotten then continued once again on another planet. Therefore this hypothetical occurrence may bring a question as to “what is the point in doing this” or maybe “what is the point in life or civilization as we know it” that would be a tough question to answer but people may still say the space program is useless because people are still starving people we could call them the unfortunate or hopeless because we will never be rid of world hunger or many worlds hunger. This innovation will help us study how life actually happens. These studies reach complications when the scientist is catholic therefore these studies interfere with religion and confuses people on what to believe that is if their faith isn’t that strong. These recent scientific studies in the biological field provide opinions that contradict the evidence we already have about particular religions.
Though there have been many casualties with NASA’s training exercises and or space flight procedures there have been 32 deaths. These deaths were anything but in vain they only help us prevail in our mistakes, there always has to be failure before there can be success in getting something right. Something we can all look back on was the Challenger explosion and the sad death of Christa Corrigan McAuliffe and the whole crowd proud to see it rise but just then in exploded drastically changing their mood from a proud accomplishment to no more than sudden mourn and distrusted eyes for they didn’t know what to believe. That instant in time was a tragic moment for students and parents. For this NASA conducted experiments to create safer shuttles in space travel.

Now what may be thought at this moment would be “oh why risk lives for a new future” or “you’re wasting your time and lives you’ll never make it elsewhere besides god will heal our planet” but these experiments were started and launched because what if there is nothing to believe in (in terms of religion). Just imagine how much more profited the world would be we would be able to gain more resources and find more elements as well as scientific experiments that could all lead to a better future for the human race. We could explore the cosmos in search of extra terrestrial life that is of higher intelligence for collaboration if possible for a better understanding of how we all (extra terrestrials that still yet have to be proven to exist) came to be.

  • Aliens, mars, holes

YO YO its ur boy, earth is gonna be polluted and stained so we need somewhere to go otherwise the human race will seize to exist. I know there could be other ways to spend our money but this could be very important in future times. This is just as important as creating medicines and feeding the hunger.

  • It is very stupid!

This is a very unnecessary way to use our money. We could be using this money to save live and help cancer research so that we can help others. ''People claim that exploring space will add to our knowledge about religion and extra terrestrial life. They also say that once Earth has become too polluted, We can move up to a planet in space. • No it should not

The money they would waste on going to space can be given to schools, Hurricane victoms, Tornado victoms, Damge to homes from tornados and hurricanes. Plus, We don't HAVE to go to space, I mean why can't we just explore earth more, We take our earth and throw it away.

  • It is not that important

People are out there homeless have no food and you are taking some money out there hard earn money y'all should be ashamed of y'all self like no one really care about going into space its not like we can move down there or anything and they should lower the taxes too so more homeless can buy food

  • Aliens is there

The truth is aliens. They are some messed up creatures, i seen them myself down in southern Louisiana. This gator was getting lifted right up to the sky, blue beam shooting out like a Star Trek mov is. We need to destroy them before they creates something and git us, and they don’t eat booty hole

  • We need new plant

I think this because once our planet is to dirty to live on we need to be able to get to a different planet and live there. • Space is shit

We don't need to be worried about space like wtf we don't live there we shouldn't worry about it lol I personally think that we should be helping homeless Instead of wasting our time DISCOVERING SPACE. If anyone has a probl3m with my response hml. 1800 choke that hoe.Com!!!!!!!!!! Lol

  • No its bad

The shuttle may kill people and many shuttle have ended in tragedy. If we should use 1.7 billion dollars to make these stupid shuttles, we should rather use this on helping poor people or helping government to do more meaningful things. Theres more to save on land then to find a new planet

  • No its bad

The cost is 1.7 billion dollars per craft and these money can be used for somewhere much more better than spending on stupid crafts that can't even find a planet good for leaving on. We can use them on supporting poor people and use the resources that may be used for exploding shuttle somewhere better.

  • Resources Be Used Elsewhere

No matter what your opinion is on this subject, traveling and going into space, costs money. NASA's budget has been growing since the start of the space race and no other budget has done so quite exponentially such as NASA's. Instead of focusing on traveling in space, we need to focus on what's going on in should our own society. Just imo.

  • Check out this youtube video it shows why the governments shouldnt fund this

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRnwK01n904

As you can clearly see governments are not equipped to deal with rocket science. Do you really want this guy building our space ships? Does he look like a rocket scientist to you? This clearly shows the dangers of having government involved in space travel. THERE IS NO ARGUING WITH THE FACTS!!!
