  • Green energy is good!

Our Earth is our only home and provides us with so much. We have light directly from the sun, water that flows through lakes and rivers, and heat from the Earth. We are slowly killing our home with the fossil fuels we are using. What happens when all the oil is gone? The world will be lost... We need to think smart and do something productive!

  • It's too important not to.

Yes, of course the government should. If not the government, who will? The government is there to do things people can't do on their own and to have long-term plans for society. If the government doesn't invest in green energy the long-term effects will be disastrous. Also this way the government isn't dependent on other countries for their energy.

  • Investing in green energy is the future so why not start now?

I think that the U.S government should invest in green technology because it will help prevent the pollution which increases asthma rates in communities. It will also help us save a valuable resource. We rely on so much oil that we depend on from "allies" around the world. Also, we're eventually going to run out of oil so why don't we start finding new energy now?

  • Energy Policy Must Be Balanced

If the federal government is going to subsidize big oil, huge goal companies and nuclear power plants, then Congress should also invest in green energy as well. Americans need a balanced approach to energy consumption that needs to move forward with modern sources of power including wind and solar. There is so much technology that can be so helpful to so many people.

  • It is vital to our economic well-being and national security to invest in alternative energy

Green energy is not only the future, it is vital and must be treated very seriously now.

The continued use of fossil fuels continues to contribute to the very real risks associated with climate change, compromise our national security as the United States becomes increasingly entangled with unsavory "allies" in the Middle East, and is a finite resource. The market should generally be kept as free as possible; however, energy is a special case as without it our entire economy cannot run. Like intangible concepts such as freedom and justice, energy must be a national priority--and as untainted by ideals contrary to our own as possible.

  • Green Energy Is the Future

In a few decades, fossil fuels will become something that people once read about in old textbooks. We cannot entirely depend on fossil fuels and sustain living that way. The grave truth is that we are standing on a rug waiting for it to be pulled out from under us. Investing in green energy is essentially a great start to ensuring that we are not entirely dependent on fossil fuels. This way, when fossil fuels DO run out, the impact on our economy and way of life will not be affected THAT drastically.

  • Blindly utilizing cheaper and limited amount of resources

Is also a bad idea, As god has created the nature and not these artificial sources. It is we, Humans, Who have created them and are responsible for these unwanted effects of it on our nature. Using non renewable sources of energy might leave the further generation vulnerable, And would not be gifted with even the fundamental resources. We, Humans, Are completely diverting from where we were before and to what we are today. However, It is not the end of the world yet, We can still preserve the nature if we take a step back, Reflect, Then proceed! After all, It is us, Humans, Who have brought such a situation into existence so now it is our duty to avoid it!

  • I agree the government should invest in green energy

Depression will be heading our way when this planet slowly and more dies the end thank you for all the support BESITOS MUAH I love this earth and because of us corrupt humans and once we all die I will find my peace but probably not everybody, We soon are going to die and will regret not switching to green energy

  • The government could help

Last year, the world invested more money in renewable energy than ever before, at over $257 billion. See the more help the government gives the better the chance is. It’s true that renewable technologies have increased in cost effectiveness over time, but parallel improvements in fossil fuel technologies. If the government give more money than we can help make our world better.

  • No the government shouldn't invest in green energy

Green energy is inefficient and it is very expensive. We do not have the tools we need to harvest green energy and make it profitable. Obama recklessly used the governments money to create green companies that all went bankrupt. We need to use viable resources, such as gas, coal, and oil.

  • Government doesn't work

Let the private sector do what it does best -- innovate and be competitive -- the government is neither of these; further money given by the government for energy investing goes to political cronies who are set up to fail -- take taxpayer money and get rich off the taxpayer. Nothing more than corporate welfare.
