Should the government pay for mothers to have 6 months of maternity leave at full pay?

  • No responses have been submitted.
  • No, the Government should not pay for 6 months maternity leave.

It is not the Governments responsibility to ensure that mothers are financially stable for six months of maternity leave after having a child. We do not have enough money as a society to fund something like this even if it was beneficial and perceivable. This would not be a good idea at all.

  • Get your priorities in order.

Sorry, ladies and the gentlemen who want to raise families with them, but you can't have it all. Either you can afford to have a child and either hire help or afford to take the time away from work to bond with your kid, or you can't. Unlike poverty and unemployment, babies just don't happen without you doing something and you shouldn't receive welfare for your deliberate act.
