  • Very useless to have over 6,000 languages

    1. Waste of brain capacity
we only use about 10% of our brain. So we should really be use
ing it wisely. I am sure you will agree! There are more useful things in life than languages. Like science and maths. How are the new generation expected to learn, invent and discover new things if languages are taking up a big wad of the space.

One global language, like english would be more useful for more than one reason. I could list 50. But i only put one above.

  • Esperanto - a common language for us all.

I am in favor of an auxiliary language, for international communication. Such a language exists - Esperanto. It is a planned language which belongs to no one country or group of states. Esperanto does not aim to replace the world's rich linguistic heritage. Indeed, wider use of the planned international language Esperanto would help to preserve the smaller languages.

Esperanto may not be perfect, but I've used it successfully in Africa, South America and Europe, and it does the job.

  • A Single Gloabalized Language would Improve Life

If there was to be a single global language that all the world's citizens would have the ability to communicate easily with individuals from different countries thus creating more equality. If the world was better able to understand each other than there would likely be a reduced amount of conflict because there would be no loss of communication when being translated. A single global language would also prove to be more efficient in the global economy because the worlds businesses and corporations would be better able to communicate.

  • Yes to a Global language!

Using one global language to communicate would improve life in the work field. It would be easier to simply understand one another if everyone had at least one language that was known all around the world.

For instance, every country has their own language because of cultural differences and background but in school they are taught another language to be able to communicate with someone of another ethnicity if they needed to. I am an American English student who is learning Spanish, but what if I wanted to travel to Germany and did not known German? I would have to take another foreign language course.

But, if there were ONE language that we were all taught to speak in school ALONG WITH the language we are accustom to, then everyone in the world would be able to better communicate.

  • Humanity's next step

The advent of a global language would lead to world wide communication, countries could become united and work to further the human species rather than work to compete with other nations. Inter species rivalry is seen in many animals such as deer and apes when mating to ensure that the best genes possible are passed on to the next generation. This, however is unnecessary in a species of higher intelligence. Especially not the most intelligent species in the world. Cultural diversity places is an unnecessary clasp on furthering our species. Tradition for traditions sake is very similar to hating for the sake of hating. Very illogical.

  • Beneficial for global peace

Most of the wars are because of not having proper communication between nations. Countries such as USA and Canada usually have very good relationship partially because of having adequate mutual understanding of each other. This understanding between nations can be achieved when the nations and not only the intellectuals are able to communicate with each other directly.

  • Enough is enough!

Millions of dollars and million of hours the global community should spend on learning different languages. Most of the wars and conflicts are because of not having proper communications between nations. Countries with the same languages such as USA, UK, Australia and Canada usually have very good relationships. Having a unique universal language is inevitable and will happen sooner or later. It is a question why not have it right now.

  • It will improve life

If everyone in the world spoke the same language, communication among us would be much easier and we all could express ourselves much clearer.Misunderstanding between languages would be prevented.Sometimes translators can be wrong as some words cannot be translated directly. It would be simple deciding which language to get everyone to learn.

  • A Global Language Would Be Beneficial

The idea that one country is better than another just because they speak one language would be forgotten. Everyone could get along and maybe even the wars would fade away, eventually. Also, communication would no longer be a problem. Business, travel, and trade would be much easier because we can all talk to each other easily.

  • There Should Be One Global Language

Globalizing the world language is not possible, but it would be a good thing. People would be able to communicate with ease, and that would lower poverty and increase the work forces effectiveness. Language is a barrier, and removing that barrier would be good for our society. Unfortunately, this idea is not practical.

  • Why we don't need a universal language

Humans want to have different identities from each other. In simple words, No one wants to be the same. No one would want one type of clothing or hobby for all human population, Right? This goes the same for languages.

If we all had the same language, Everyone could understand each other, But some people would be very interested in learning new languages.

  • It doesn't work

If we really had one language, That everybody could speak. This would still lead to confusion, I was in Estonia once, Where I couldn't understand people because of their accents while speaking English. It wouldn't lead to more equality either, What about tons of people being discriminated because of their skin color, Gender, Religion or opinion? They grew up with the same language as the discriminators, But it didn't change anything about their equality, Language is simply not linked to equality. Also, It doesn't take a lot of space in your brain capacity of 5 TB (which is 5, 000, 000 MB). The myth that you only use 10% of your brain has been proven completely false by scientists.

Also, Language is linked to culture, Which a lot of people do not wish to lose. What if I took away your guns, Hotdogs, Hamburgers (which originate in Germany, Not the US), Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving and forced you to learn another language, Would you like that? Now let me ask you a question, Could you get people to eat the same dish, Just because it's easier to prepare? No, You couldn't. Some people don't like certain dishes, Some people don't like certain languages.

And then, Let's say we really had one language, Which one would it be? English is extremely difficult to learn for speakers of Slavic, Fin-Ugric and Asian languages. Why? Well, Some languages don't have articles, Like Chinese and Russian. In Russian, You don't say: I am a student, You say: I student. Articles are complicated for a lot of people. English also has the most irregular spelling of all European languages, And every language is hard to learn for speakers of other languages that are not similar to that language.

By the way, For everybody who says languages are stupid and unnecessary. I am currently studying Dutch (my native language), English, French, German, Latin, Ancient Greek, Russian, Esperanto, Spanish, Italian and even Sign Language. And I use them all on a daily basis (yes, Even the dead languages, And I'm only 14).

If we had one language, We also wouldn't be able to read older documents, Documents of the modern era, That are very important for society.

Esperanto is also a language that is very complicated if you want to form really advanced sentences, Sentences that you use on a daily basis. Plus, If you'd have one language, It would eventually split into several languages. There actually used to be a language called Proto-Indo-European. Which eventually split into the following languages (just to name a few):

    -Portuguese
    -Spanish
    -Catalan
    -Provencal
    -French
    -Italian
    -Rhaeto-Romance
    -Romanian
    -Latin
    -Faliscan
    -Oscan
    -Umbrian
    -Gaulish
    -Breton
    -Cornish
    -Welsh
    -Manx
    -Scottish Gaelic
    -Irish Gaelic
    -Yiddish
    -German
    -Low German
    -Afrikaans
    -Flemish
    -Dutch (my native language)
    -Frisian
-English (yes, Even your own language isn't safe)
    -Danish
    -Swedish
    -Norwegian
    -Faroese
    -Icelandic
    -Old Prussian
    -Latvian
    -Lithuanian
    -Wendish
    -Polish
    -Slovak
    -Czech
    -Slovene
    -Serbo-Croatian
    -Macedonian
    -Russian
    -Persian
    -And many, Many more

So languages will simply split, And this entire discussion would start again.

  • No it is very bad idea with terrible ramifications that people are not thinking about!

To be clear, I mean there should not be an international language IL that everyone can speak as a second language while they retain their first language for their own country. In fact, I think its the worst thing that can happen! Why? A) It would lead to massive language death. . . Because it would eliminate the need to learn any second language other than the IL. . . Going to Japan? Why learn Japanese when everyone speaks the IL? But why would this lead to language death? Take a minority language like Quechua in Peru. With English taking priority, Quechua would fall to the bottom. One more language is simply one more rival for all second and unofficial languages! B) it would lead to a homogenization of culture, Making the world a frightfully boring and dull place. Imagine a world where there is one international culture, In one language and everyone taps into it via that language. In fact this has already happened with American film and music. No, I'm not hating and a lot of American stuff is good, But say goodbye to foreign language films and songs! Those markets simply won't be able to compete and will die off. With one international language, That is where we are headed!

  • One Language kills our diversity

Every language is a different tool used by one or more societies to communicate and express and each language is determinately made for ONE and only ONE community and their traditions, Beliefs, Philosophy, Myths, Stories, Discoveries, And much more.
And every language that is lost, Is an entire community's culture that had disappeared

  • Beauty in Diversity

Diversity of languages has values we must charish: different aspects how you see the World; different cultures of different nations reflecting in the language they use; the difference of speaking communities etc. Prehistoric cavemen used one language but specialized when communities became larger. I speak 4 languages and love all.

  • Stoopid so so stoopid

Are you dum di dum di dum di dum di dum STOOPID thats not a good idea because languafge is cool and i like diversity and if you don't like diveristy then youre dumb di dumb di dumd di dumd di dum STOOPID we need more languages such as english yeet

  • Everyone has their unique language

Your language represents your culture and history without that, The world would be boring. Its like eating the same food or wearing the same clothes every day. Also poor people and countries wouldn't afford to learn a new language.
Language in general is a unique gift and to steal that away and replace it with an language that every one can speak is appalling.

  • Because of nudels they would dye out

Everybody likes nudels so if they would dye out everybody would be sad, And we don't want that so I would recommend that we don't have one globl anguage bcause there would be wars with as sortes and than nudels would break and Durstlöscher would also dye out bitch so shut up we need nudels we need many languages
