The gun show loophole just makes it easier for people with malicious intentions to purchase a firearm. At gun shows, even if you have a criminal record or history of mental illness, you can still buy a gun due to the fact private sellers do not perform background checks. Background checks should be required every time someone wishes to purchase a firearm.
Let me get this straight: You want to prevent criminals from using guns to commit crimes. So the law-abiding citizens have to disarm because of that law. Now, there's a thriving market for contraband guns driven by those who aren't law-abiding citizens. Guess who can't defend themselves with guns now. That's right, the law-abiding citizens. So until such a time as the entire populace is medicated to be non-violent, we need armaments. The end.
Go ask people who go to gun shows, they'll tell you it is really easy to get a gun at a gun show. Most of the time you can just walk in, buy the gun and leave in a day.
That seems like a loophole to me, and considering the huge amount of gun violence here in America that needs to stop. Pro gun people are way too defensive about protecting gun rights and don't want any regulations, so gun violence continues because of it. We can't get rid of all gun violence, but lots of shooters have gotten their guns in legal ways because it is that easy to get one that they don't need to do it illegally.
People should need licenses for guns too, and have to be thoroughly checked out before the purchase. And for anyone who thinks that its ridiculous, think about this: we need a liscense to drive a car, so shouldn't we need one to get a gun too?
This is simply madness on the part of the left to use false labeling to scare an un-informed citizen into following their lead. There is no loophole as every dealer at a gun show must hold a valid Federal Firearms License to buy and sell weapons and background checks are required on ALL purchases. The "loophole" refers" to the non-existent person-to-person sales that can be done between family members (which account for 97% of all non-FFL transfers) anywhere in the state provided both buyer and seller reside in the same state. And no firearm ever sold by a private individual has ever wound up at the scene of a mass shooting or school shooting. So this is simply empty rhetoric with no facts to back it up, of course.
Doing research it can be discovered that guns bought at gun shows only make up less than 2% of all guns used in gun crime so to put so much emphasis on such a meager issue is ridiculous. What should be focused on and attacked is the amount of illegal weapons which constitute nearly 40%! We need to stop focusing on the meager problems and hit the problem where it really lies.

ISIS must be getting their guns from gun shows in the Middle East, or the cartels south of our border. The VC were probably getting them from gun shows during the Vietnam war as well. Laws don't mean a single thing. Drugs are "outlawed" and people get them all the time if they want. This will just create a black market for guns and expand arlready powerful criminal organizations worldwide that kill more people each year with THEIR guns. Criminals don't abide by laws, only good people do. The people who want our guns are not good people and do not have good intentions for why they want to take them from law abiding citizens. Can liberals really not see this, or is the media and government skewing statistics and creating lies of national approval of gun bans to push their very clear socialist agenda on us with no way to object to their demands?
