  • Animals should be kept in zoos.

You can't just chuck these animals away and expect them to survive by there selves. If animals were in the wild they would have to take risks to have food and a tiger might attack but in zoos nothing like that would happen. Animals have their own special needs in every kind most people think they live cages but that is not true. If you are against this then why were you having a great time in the zoo.

  • Yes we should, because of a thousand reasons!

We should because It will keep the rare species alive and if we didn't have zoos some if those animals would be extinct right now!!! Seriously people who say no, I get your point but think about it! A thousand animals might have or probably would have died because of natural causes or more likely predators!

  • Why We Should we keep Zoos?

•By bringing people and animals together, zoos educate the public and foster an appreciation of the animals. This exposure and education motivates people to protect the animals.
•Zoos save endangered species by bringing them into a safe environment, where they are protected from poachers, habitat loss, starvation and predators.
•Many zoos also have breeding programs for endangered species. In the wild, these individuals might have trouble finding mates and breeding.
•Reputable zoos are accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and are held to high standards for the treatment of the animals. According to the AZA, accreditation means, "official recognition and approval of a zoo or aquarium by a group of experts."
•A good zoo provides an enriched habitat in which the animals are never bored, are well cared-for, and have plenty of space.
•Zoos are a tradition, and a visit to a zoo is a wholesome, family activity.
•Seeing an animal in person is a much more personal and more memorable experience than seeing that animal in a nature documentary.
•Some would argue that humans have little, if any duty to non-human animals because humans are more important, and if keeping animals in zoos serves any educational or entertainment purposes, we can ethically do it.
•Zoos help rehabilitate wildlife and take in exotic pets that people no longer want or are no longer able to care for.
•Both accredited and unaccredited animal exhibitors are regulated by the federal Animal Welfare Act, which establishes standards for care2

  • Keep them here.

We will never get to see any animals? What else would we do without a zoo? Zoos also protect animals.
Then humans will already think animals are extinct. Everything is perfect just the way it is. In the wild other animals will kill. Then all the good animals will be gone.

  • Animals should be kept in zoos

Animals should be kept in zoos because if the animals are out of the zoo then they might eat other animals and people. Another reason why animals should be kept i n zoos because some people dont like taking care of animals. A final reason why animals should be kept in zoos because they wont get hunted.

  • Animals in zoo

What if a animal is sick and needs help? What if it's habitat was just destroyed and it needs a new home? A zoo try to make the area feel just like the habitat that species would live in. For example, a penguin is given cold air, and water to swim in.

  • Yes, they are safer

Yes, I believe that we should keep animals in zoos. I feel like animals are safer in the zoos then they are out in the wild. Most zoos give their animals an ample amount of room to roam free in, while being monitored to ensure that they are safe. It also allows children to see and learn about animals that they may not otherwise get to see.

  • They are in a prison for animals

I do not think putting animals i cages is not right. I believe that animals should be in the wild. They will be able to live free. Look at it this way how would you like be put in a cage then displayed for people to see. But some times when there are born in captivity its good for them to stay in a zoo. Thank you

  • Yes, with moderation

Keeping animals in captivity is a great way to find out about animals and to help endangered species, but if we breed animals, most of them cannot be released back into the wild as they do not have the skills to hunt/forage for food, so we will end up with a stock of animals that cannot be released into the wild, because of this, we have to sell the animals to other zoos which requires us to ship them over great distances which costs great amounts of money and effort. Despite this, animals can still get sick which can result in unfortunate outcomes including loss of money and loss of the beautiful animals that contribute to our world.

On a more positive note, I am sure most of you have heard about the Tasmanian Devils? If you have not, they are the largest carnivorous marsupial in the world, and the only place they are found in the wild is Tasmania, in Australia. They have been listed as an endangered species since 2008. Anyway, many zoos in Australia are helping breed and protect the Tasmanian Devils, they achieve this by containing several Tasmanian devils and breeding them so if they become extinct in the wild, they will be able to restore the population. This is a great example of the good of keeping animals in captivity.

Thanks for reading, I hope this helped you in any way at all.

  • I believe we should, as they provide safety and shelter for animals in need.

I believe that animals deserve the right to be in their natural habitats, but there are also many exceptions to this rule. Especially when zoos and wildlife preserves come into the equation. There are many endangered species out there, and as much as some people hate locking these creatures in cages, it is a practice that will ultimately save those animals. So for the most part, yes, I do agree that we should keep animals in zoos, or at least wildlife preserves.

  • Animals should be in cages

Many animals benefit greatly from the extra protection that places such as nature reserves and zoos offer. Zoos and nature reserves today are constantly and strictly monitored to make sure the animals are in the best health and happiness. Each enclosure is specially designed for the animal living in it to keep it as close to its natural habitat as possible. This a far cry from the zoos in the past that were cold, concrete cages that provided animals with no enrichment.

Remember - these animals have been born in captivity. They do not miss "the wild" as they do not know what it is. Letting a captive-bred animal out into the wild would be far more cruel as it wouldn't know how to feed or protect itself from any number of dangers. Some species, without captive breeding, would be long extinct such as Przewalski's horse which no longer exists in the wild. Many species (such as the rhino, panda, wolf, cheetah, leopard, tiger, bacterian camel, many species of birds as a small example), without human protection and conservation would be long extinct. Granted, some of the fault lies in human development and hunting, but other factors include habitats and climates changing too fast for some species to keep up with, limited distribution and disease.

Being "free" for some species, will ultimately mean "dead".

Lastly, one must remember that pets such as dogs and cats are kept in captivity, too! The pet dog or cat we have today has been bred to be a companion animal for many thousands of years, so much so that they would not last very long if dumped into the wild. Such companion animals haven't evolved to dodge cars or be wary of roads, and even today many die from being hit by a car or being killed by a bigger wild animal.

  • Yeah zoo's should continue to be a thing.

First off if an animal is in the wild it's chance of death from anything from natural causes to a hunter is larger than it would ever be if they lived in a zoo. And also, If a zoo is ass and treats their animals like trash that is a problem that an animal rights group can deal with, And it doesn't mean zoo's are evil, They were made to HELP animals.

I think it is wrong because they are being locked up in a cage and never let out how would you feel if you were locked up in a cage I would be mad so please vote no freedom just 1 vote could change the world of animals just do it.

  • Animals shouldn’t be kept in a zoo and have no freedom to Rome around.

Animals should be free and Rome around whenever or wherever they would like. If the animals are sick or injured then it’s the circle of life for that situation and if they do die out in the wile at least they’re going to die where they live. It’s not even in our hand or in our rights to just take a random animal that you “need” for your business and drop them in a small cell.

  • Useful for research

The work that is done with the animals is not done out of malice but instead in search of knowledge or to heal. There are strict guidelines on the treatment and care of the animals. Not all animals are kept forever if they are able to be released it is done.

  • Only if they have no place in the wild

When I say "No place in the wild" I mean
-rescue animals who were illegally raised by humans, And as a result have not developed the skills to hunt/socialize
-animals who are physically unable to survive in the wild (albinos, Blind animals, Animals with permanent injuries that prevent hunting/gathering)
-animals who need to be closely cared for to prevent the extinction of their race.

If a zoo animal does fall under this list then they must be given an environment as realistic to their natural one as a zoo can provide, Great examples of this are the san diego zoo/wild animal park

An animal should only be in a cage for transport/medical examination, An iron bar iron floor cage should not be a permanent residence for a zoo animal.

  • Animals should be in zoos

I think animals should be in zoos if not many could die because they can not find food. Also they all do have a covered indoor area if you go in doors you see all the animals indoors so i believe they should stay in zoos they don't have to hunt or get killed by other animals.

  • Zoos should be banned!

Imagine you being in a cage and people looking at you, Taking pictures and staring at you weirdly while you eat. Well if you think it is weird take a close look at the zoo animals, People take their pictures, Stare at them and last but not least they are kept in a cage. ENOUGH! Fact: most of the animals are dying because the zoo habitats are too small. We only have zoos for entertaining humans, But is it entertaining for the animals? Do they think it is funny? If the animals will be released they will be able to live up to their life span and get as much as food they want. The zookeepers think that they are helping the animals, But are they making the animals life stressful. Are the zookeepers aware for that? Do the zookeeper just wanting to make money? Do they feel the poor animals? Are they careless about it? Or do they just not pay attention to that. You should start to pay attention to the animals, You don't know what the animals are thinking. They might not like being at the zoo at all. People should let them free. Let them live their life

  • Zoos are great

For going to the zoo was a great memory, So much so that I would like to be a zoo keeper once I have finished my university certificate. Yes some keeper miss treat the animals, And yes some zoos do not have enough space to some animals. But, And this is a big but, Zoo can be used to bring animals out of the brink of extinction, And it can allow use to understand the animals of this world better.

  • No they dont!

DONT AGREE! Animals are not in prison firstly. Well if prison is paradise: they feed the animals, They give them the perfect condition to live, The they care of them and they get a extra love of the happy turists. They can have be taken there fredom and their families but truly in most of animals species the are always separing themself from their families. In the wild they are exposed, Week to every thread, Deforastation, Animal predators, Humans hunt and lots of more threads. Believed or not without zoos our loved and nice "prison animals" are save, You could thing they get DONT AGREE! Animals are not in prison firstly. • Zoos Do Much More Good Than Harm

Zoos aren't just a form of "sick entertainment" for our pleasure. They're sanctuaries for animals that wouldn't survive in the wild and/or are endangered. Zoo breeding has helped saved many animals from extinction. The actual exhibits are just a way to make money off animals they're housing for the reasons mentioned above to keep the process going. Yes, there are some bad examples out there but that just means zoos need to be run under guidelines that promote animal well-being, not that they should all be shut down.

  • Would you like it?!

So huh you think that it might be nice to be caged up in a ZOO?!Well I think not why don't you try it ok?Have nothing except food and water have tiny baby elephants staring at you all day being beat often.Have you ever heard of Zick the elephant? No? Well here is what occured so he escaped from the circus in 2004 and instead of tranquilizig him they shot him in the leg and left him to bleed to death then instead of burying him they threw him away so think again okay? Also some people might argue that we give them shelter?Ahaa you give a husky a lovely warm shelter well good job you saved him from the icy Arctic? Good job! Oh wait no its not guess what that cute little husky will die because of Dehydration he has fur from god MEANT to keep him warm so don't be a Jackass and say NO!

  • Yes but not the way we do now

If anything today's zoos have the right idea but there doing it horribly, a zoo can prolong an almost extinct species, but sadly also finish and almost extinct species, we should keep zoos in good conditions with much more space for animals, but the most important thing is that humans should not go to see them often and when they do they should be looked at through tainted windows so animals cant see them. Although sketchy this creates an illusion of privacy and is healthier for the animal and we humans still get to see amazing creatures

  • Endangered species can be save!

I think that we can save some endangered species or simply we can learn more about animals. Zoos are a tradition, and a visit to a zoo is a wholesome, family activity. As I can see, zoos are the best way to help animals, out of nature!

    Thanks for reading!

  • They need to be safe. There are many animals in the wild, being killed by the humans (yes, hunters).

We need to keep our living beings treated nicely like we do to each other. We live in a house, to keep us safe, so where do wild animals go to themselves safe? Many animals are getting extinct and they have many roles to do to help us stay alive and most human beings don't even understand that.

  • Should they yes and no

Why I think we should keep animals should stay in zoos because they are happy they always get food always get water and they have other siblings. I also think no because if they get out then they will have no instincts to hunt or kill things they will be to used to being feed.

  • Zoos support conservation

I believe that accredited zoos are very beneficial to the conservation of animals. Not only do zoos work to expanding the genetic diversity of our animals, but they also provide a sanctuary for animals on the brink of extinction, which are being hunted in their native habitats. I understand that not every zoo works towards this goal of conservation, but this is why I specified accredited zoos. Organizations such as the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) work with zoos and aquariums to ensure the best animal welfare, public engagement and conservation of wildlife. Professionals who work for the organization will go zoo to zoo to evaluate and make sure everything is up to the standards of the organization. This helps to create standards for animal care and ensure that we are treating the animals with the utmost respect. I believe that with the help of organizations like this, we can have a positive impact on wildlife.

It is very important that we conserve and preserve the wildlife all across the world and zoos help us to accomplish this goal. Many captive animals cannot be released in the wild for a multitude of reasons. When animals are born in captivity they do not possess the necessary behaviors needed to live in the wild, such as hunting or avoiding being hunted, many are dependent on humans to care for them. Many captive animals do not have place to go in the wild, due to habitat destruction. In many situations, it is impossible to release captive animals into the wild. In addition to caring for endangered species that cannot be released, zoos also help to put wildlife back into the wild through specially designed breeding programs. Reintroduction programs have been installed in many zoos in which a captive pair will breed and have a litter and a few of the animals in the litter will be cross-fostered by a wild pair of the same species. This helps to introduce some species back into the wild in a controlled environment.

  • Good morning everyone

Is good because kids can learn more about animals like giraffes, elephant, monkey ,dog, cat ,puppy, kittens ,and a lot of other animals!!! I really like this place and I can learn a lot of things so ok bye bye everyone and go away!! Thank you very much I hope you guys enjoy this beautiful Sunday

  • Zoos are not just a form of entertainment for humans

All of us have at least gone to a zoo once in our lifetime. Think about all the elephants gorillas, big cats and Rhinos you have seen? The zoos are protecting them from poachers and starvation where in their homeland that is a huge problem. Not to mention the deforestation that occurs THANKS TO HUMANS. In a way, we are forcing them into zoo's so don't be saying that we are hurting them putting them in zoos because every time you write on a piece of paper you take away an animals home. Not to mention the fact that zoo keepers take extremely good care of the animals and think of them as their pets.

  • We should keep animals in zoos

The reason why we should keep animals in zoos is because they are in zoos for a reason. They in there because maybe there species are in danger and they need to be protected by people that are killing the animals. People that put the animals in the zoo are helping them so that species doesn't get killed off.

  • Animals could never see the light of day again

If you take zoos away than sone people can't learn about happy and funny animals because when you go to school you have to learn about animals the boring way instead of going to the zoo and asking zoo experts about animals that can tell you everything you want to Know

  • They should be in a zoo

They should be kept in a zoo because they get lots of care and they get every thing they need. Their very smart animals and I get that their a wild animal but it just helping them.Have a better chance of living and having a good life. If they see the animal don’t want to be in there then theirs a chance they will bring them back we’re they came from. Some peple say that their stessed out in the zoo I believe their not but maybe for like 2 weeks because they still need to get used to its a new thing to they. ALL MY THOUGHTS!!!

  • Because children can learn about the animals.

We recently went on a school trip to a zoo they had a really good breading process and stopped animals from becoming extinct or critically endangered . They also gave money that they raised to the zoos all around the world so that people can care for the animals around the world .

  • I Think Zoo's should keep animals in the zoo

Ok first of all I am sick and tired of all of you saying the same thing you guys can't literally come up with your own stuff its not a prison or just straight up a cell Some animals like it there and you guys literally think that every single animal hates it there for example the global warming its getting rid of antarctica or the penguins "habitat" It's literally not the humans fault for that and what about natural disasters Tornadoes or hurricanes or anything like that and they get rid of the habitats and everyone just thinks that its "oh its the humans fault for that" You guys are a straight up disgrace for thinking that animals hate it at the zoo at my cities zoo they dont hate it there so you guys are acting like a stereo type for animals at the zoo Because not all animals hate it there its just your dumb mind for thinking that sorry, But its true you guys just think that animals don't like it there but think of the animals that do because they sure in the hell don't want to get hunted.

  • Animals are safe!

Animals are protected and cared for in zoos. I don't get why people think zoos are bad! Scientists help animals and everything. Keep the zoos! Zoos aren't bad for animals. Why doesn't anyone get that. Keep the zoos, save the animals. Let the animals live and be protected! Yes, zoos are safe!

  • Animal Jesus .

Zoos are pretty much the savior for animals because they provide shelter and wellness for animals that could suffer from life-threatening diseases that could leave the children of that animal to find food themselves and avoid natural predators without any father or mother to protect them from harm ok ?

  • Out can be danger

I chose yes and it's not because I don't like animals it's because a lot of animals are born in the zoo and they will be in danger I also disagree because animals need to be out side it can be hard because people should not keep the like that if you dont feed them or take care imagen a human begin locked up lke the animals imagen we are the ones locked uo but I also think we should because you cant let them out most zoos that care abou the animal help.

  • They get company and safety

Most people are saying that the animals are lonely in zoos, and that they will die from stress and boredom. But the thing is that once baby animals come of age and are able to mate, the females and males get put into an exhibit together. They both permanently stay in that exhibit unless they need a checkup or are both going to get a better exhibit. The male and female mate during mating season and have babies, then the babies go and get special care to give them the proper food and health needs. The mother and father usually don’t know what happened to the babies though, but some zoos allow the parents to visit the babies. The zoos protect all the animals from harm, and that’s better that them being terribly injured in the wild by themselves.

Shut up just because they are animals. I don't wanna know yourr idea just because I said it we should. Put them there for all the rest f their life. We don't care if they are happy, they just have to be funny if they don't are kill them now.

  • Animals need to be kept alive.

I think that some animals should be kept in zoos because of the threat of extinction. I do think that all animals should be treated kindly and not be ripped from their families or anything like that. I think that animals should only be captured if their injured or endangered.

  • I think we should keep zoos ( in my opininon )

I believe that animals deserve the right to be in their natural habitats, but there are also many exceptions to this rule. Especially when zoos and wildlife preserves come into the equation. There are many endangered species out there, and as much as some people hate locking these creatures in cages, it is a practice that will ultimately save those animals. So for the most part, yes, I do agree that we should keep animals in zoos, or at least wildlife preserves.

  • To save animals

The recent death of Harambe—the Western lowland gorilla shot dead at the Cincinnati Zoo after a three-year-old boy fell into his enclosure—has ignited a fierce debate about the role of modern zoos. Some critics have seized the tragedy as an opportunity to advance an uncompromising anti-captivity narrative in which all zoos and aquariums are inherently unethical and cruel.

To be sure, there are bad actors. The spawning of so-called “roadside zoos”—an exploitative enterprise known for its systematic negligence and abuse of animals—are some of the most egregious cases-in-point. But blunt and sweeping indictments of zoos and aquariums fail to account for how ethical institutions enrich and ultimately protect the lives of animals, both in human care and in the wild.

  • Zoos are beneficial

I personally believe that zoo’s are beneficial to the animals kept within them. Many zoos function as sanctuaries for injured animals, and as places of education, where the public can learn about conservationism. Many zoos in North America are regulated and accredited by the AZA(Association of Zoos and Aquariums),so there is no need to worry about a lack of quality control. Some animals in zoos belong to endangered species, and letting them out in the wild grants poachers the opportunity to kill and harvest materials from them, and then sell them on the black market to someone with the archaic belief that they somehow have medicinal properties.

  • Great science education

Students need to be learnt how animals are and what needs to happen to them to keep them alive. As well as them being a entertainment purpose but it is also a highly recommended children have to visit a zoo to learn about the science behind of animals lives .

  • Yes it is good to keep the animals in zoos!:)

Mp1: From thetylt.Com/culture it states that ”Modern zoos are designed to give animals a high quality of life, with many species averaging a longer lifespan in captivity than in the wild. Zoos educate visitors, conduct important research, and help conserve threatened species through breeding programs and captive populations.”

Mp2:Also from thetylt.Com/culture it states that “most wildlife biologists consider SSP programs to be works in progress. AZA zoos have been instrumental, for instance, in establishing a stable population of bongos, a threatened forest antelope native to Africa, through captive breeding programs under the SSP program. Many of these captive-bred bongos have subsequently been released into the wild and have helped bolster dwindling population numbers accordingly.”

Mp3:Finally from www.zoo.org.au it states “Zoos Victoria is one of the State’s largest providers of formal learning outside the classroom. Last year alone, one hundred forty-six and one hundred thirty-six students embarked on learning experiences at Zoos Victoria, seeking greater connections with wildlife and the skills needed to equip our children with as they inherit stewardship of a stressed planet.

  • They are in a cage for entertainment so eat it

Like man with tv we love animals too. I would love to be stuck in a cage and get attention. But it would prevent a harambe incedent if we put them back in the wild but we are not so shut up you peoplle will never make a difference you will only make opinions

  • They should be closed

They should get rid of zoos be they are always in cages when in a zoo animals die decades earlier than relatives not in there own habituate they cant see family their locked up. Sometimes they can want to commit suicide. Most times animals die be they are mentally ill. In the zoos animals cant roam free. Animals can break the glass and harm kids or animals. Not all the time animals get feed. Animals are mistreated in zoos. The animals dont get food or water so they could die really easily. Children can jump in the habitates and get hurt by animals or even die.

  • In the wild they would not survive as long

When I look at animal sites, I see that animals living in captivity live 2-5 years longer than animals in the wild. They also don't have any predators in zoos. But I still think that they should have wildlife reserve instead so they have a lot more room. I think yes and no. If they live in a wildlife reserve, they are also living in a real environment. They also wouldn't have any predators if you separated the species.

  • We should keep animals in zoos.

The first reason is that they will be safer in the zoo. For example,if a deer is in the wild it will be hunt by lions or other that eat deers. If you keep it in the zoo it won't be hunted. The second reason is that,if you keep it in the zoo,the animal may like there life in the zoo. That is why i think we should keep animals in the zoo

  • Yes, we should keep animal in zoo

People can take care keep of the animal. Also, people can feed the animal.Endangered animals can not be extinct. We can see animals and learn more about animals.Animals can be safe.We can touch the animals.Animals will not bit people in the cage. The can have fun. Other animals will not bit or hurt each other.

  • Ban all zoo

Why do they need to be kept in a "prison" if they haven't done anything yes they have ate humans but it"s part of there nature. We need animals for our food cycle yes it is fun to go to zoos and see all the animals but they have the right to be free you cant just take them out of there natural habitat

  • Animals should not live in zoos!

Animals should not live in zoos because Tweddle Zoo gave a animal cake and junk food instead of proper food for the animals. They kept a lion in a small cage for 18 HOURS. Just wow. Just stop this now. A worker left a dead animal on the floor. JUST STOP TWEEDLE ZOO

  • I strongly believe animal should not be in a cages

People who says animal should not be kept in cages you are right people who think animal should be kept in zoo how would you like if you were the animal and kept in cages or zoos no freedom and last of all people who says animal you be kept in cages you have no good heart

  • Animals need to be free!!

They need to be free so they can live thir lives free. The Lord above use made animals to be free not to be cage up in zoos.If more people like me can do the same we can all keep animals out of zoos. What if it was you in a cage? How will you fill? How can you not see that aniamls should not be in zoos.People should just stop and think about it animals should be free!!!!!

  • The animals in the zoo

Yes we should have animals in the zoo for we can go to the zoo and see the animals if they were not in the zoo we would have to go were the animals and that would be annoying and long so that why we should have animals in the zoo

  • Animals in the zoo

People love the zoo people love visiting and it is a learning tecnec for kids it helps kids learn and it macks it fun for kids people love the zoo but don't get why people are agents i impacts nature and it can be good for the animals expressly when they are born there.

  • Animals Should NOT Be In Zoos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We love to visit zoos and see all of the animals in the zoo's but hey they are in jail and they need to be free.We should lose zoos they might keep the animals safe but they are destroying them at the same time and all they use them for is MONEY it might be entertaining but it can destroy a species.

  • No they can't

Because they would not know how they would really would live and hunt like how that is in there blood. And because imagine that if you were in that cage or a puppy was in that cage would you and that puppy want to get out and be free or be kept in that cage for your whole life that would be awful

  • Animals should be kept in zoos!

Animals should be kept in zoos because it’s much more safer for them and for us. In the wild they can die in starvation or get killed by another species of animals. If endangered let out into the wild, their kind will be extinct one day very soon. It’s not safe for us because if kids get too close to a tiger, it will most likely kill it.

  • Can get hurt

Some of animals don’t know how to get food by them self. People and hunters can hurt and kill animals and they can make animals extinct like pandas and tigers and then use them to make goods and needs and some people are trying to make the animals better and healthy.

  • Should we keep animals in zoos?

We should keep animals in zoos because if we do not then the animals will become endangered and will die out if they are in the wild. Then, if we ban zoos, animals who are used to it would be eaten by predators straight away as thy do not know hot to protect themselves.

  • Harambe is my dad

Harambe was killed but I think zoos deserve a second chance. R.I.P Harambe but it was the moms fault not his.Blame the mom and just never forget him. It wasnt the zoos fault the mom was probably yelling at them because she dumb. Dont give the zoos a bad rep.

  • I believe animals thrive in zoos compared to their natural habitat which has been messed up by humans.

We created a lot of the problem regarding animals going extinct so it is only right if we fix it. Zoos have breeding programs that help animals reproduce and grow. Additionally, zoos are there to educate and no matter what animal rights activists say there are reasons to have zoos they are not excuses.

  • We should because if we release them they will not be used to the wild and would starve or be killed by predators.

Yes zoos seem like they are cruel to the animals and having people look at them but most animals prefer zoos to the wild and enjoy being looked at, we also should keep them in zoos because they are being studied so that one day we can know everything about them. If we know more about them we are more likely to protect them in the future.

  • Animals should be kept in zoos

It is probably true that some animals are mistreated, but not at zoos. Animals are safe and welcomed in zoos. Zoos are also great tourist attractions and it can be fun and exciting to find out about new animals or see animals you've never seen before. The employees at the zoo can also keep the animals clean, healthy, and happy. Plus, their natural habitats are being destroyed by wildfires, and many other things. Zoos provide a safe place for these animals because the number of some species of animals are decreasing due to hunting. In the zoos, no hunting can be done in there. Take pangolins for example, they are being hunted for their scales because some think they can be a form of medicine. However, there is no scientific research that proves that. That is why I think that animals should be kept at zoos.

  • We need zoos

The reason I say this is because we are all bound by the same laws meaning if we removed exotic animals from the zoos (most likely by banning the ownership of them) we would also be banning the research that is done on these animals to make certain medicines. This would also mean that the general study of said animals would drop as it would become too expensive. It would become expensive because we would now need to take trips to other regions of the world to study biology.
Another topic to be brought up is the question of where to put these creatures. Many might be sold off, possibly to poachers. The only other answer would be to release them into the wild. At first it sounds great but then you realize that these animals have been brought up in captivity. If you did release them they would surly die (which to me is a lot worse then a zoo). These are only a few reasons I think we should keep zoos over getting rid of them.

  • I just think yes

Just yes okay don't be rude to me or il bite u fan u are not hard I will nibb,e on ya f,esh and then go to Aldi in my Vauxhall 2002 and rob a pick n mix cause I'm a road man and you are scared of me. Boom

  • Yes they should

Because i support animals and they dont deserve to DIE. People who want to let them die are selfish. God made these animals and we are not putting these animals to waste!111 so i agree on letting animals l ive here because they r cute. If you dont like them ur a noob

  • So basically I'm

On both sides. Zoos should exist, but on certain limits. First of all, zoos sort of educate people on animals, and the animals that are they do live in protection. If there is an endangered species, zoos can keep them so they can reproduce. But, comparing a Wild Asian Elephant living in a zoo, they can live only 19 years average, but in the wild, they can live up to 54 years average. Big difference. So? What should we do? Release some, of course. Zoos also can lead to dangerous disease outbreak for the animals. And, they should have some free time. Don't you ever see an animal just looking so sad in a tiny little space? It's sad, so let them have free time. OR, give them space. Especially elephants. Also some species adapt to living in a zoo so they change, so when they go in the wild, they will be much different than the wild versions, and when a zoo animal breeds with a wild one, it might be different.

  • Where do you think the animals will go

So All you "animal lovers" Can you answer me this . How in the world are you going to be able to stop zoos from breeding "killer whale gentles" and giving the sperm in a tube with a camera on it inside of a female killer whale. Could you tell me that?Or maybe if you "suppose" get zoos, circuses,Sea world,Animal Aquariums, all closed down where, are all the animals going to go?They can't all go to a sanctuary. Can they ......I don't think so ..... OK!!!! SO .....The animals need a place to go right now but you can help the next generation of animals that are going to be poached or etc......What has been done is neither right or wrong because at least they have a place to sleep and God forbid there be anyone here thinking that I'm on the side of Animal testing because I will never be on the side for either. For people who love animals sooo much, you really don't know what you could be putting the animals you save into...... I know you want to save them, so do I but this is not the best opinion. Not telling you to stop debating and demanding for animal rights and freedom. But, What you guys do with all your websites, you guys are doing just great. SO,As I am Just a human being in this discombobulated world, YOU DON'T KNOW THE FUTURE, only living, breathing ,life, AND GOD can tell. SO, KEEP ON FIGHTING FOR WHAT'S RIGHT, NO MATTER WHAT!!! BY: Ty

  • Yes, animals should be kept in zoos as long as the zoos respect the rights of the animals.

Indeed, it is true that there have been many cases of cruelty due to malpractice in zoos and under-trained zookeepers. Nonetheless, most zoos have been constantly improving to keep animals well fed and well looked after in spacious surroundings. It is becoming the norm for zoos to hire specific nutritionists and specialists to cater to the specific needs of different animals. These zoos can thus exist without cruelty to animals. Furthermore, there is an increasing number of organisations that come out with guidelines and regulations or to pressure zoos to upkeep the welfare of all animals.

At the same time, zoos are justified when they exist to protect endangered species. Due to our lack of care for the environment, the world is accelerating into an era of rapid human-fueled species loss. Thus, one of the most compelling argument for the existence of zoos would be to liken zoos to Noah’s Ark. Similar to the Noah’s Ark, a zoo in today’s time plays a role in protecting animals, studying them to help us understand what we can do to better protect them from extinction.

  • They should be kept in zoos.

In the zoo, animals have medical care. I can 100% assure you that they can't get medical care in the wild. Also, the amount of land that the animals have is nearly the length of two football fields. That is way more space than what they had 30 years ago. Them being kept in zoos will keep their population growing for many years to come.

  • We got animals into this mess

Without zoos that follow AZA's standards, these animals would be hunted to extinction by humans. People often say "Let them be free!", but these animals were born in captivity. They would not stand a chance. Zoos educate the public about conservation and how the people can help keep these endangered animals alive in the wild.

  • Yes animals are good in zoos

Many would say that wild animals should not be held in captivity. It has been argued that captive breeding isn’t always effective, zoos do not provide natural habitats, and that zoos put unnecessary stress on animals. Some studies have shown that reintroduced animals have high mortality rates because they are poorly adapted and lack the skills needed to survive in the wild. Since an animal’s well-being is dependent on their environment, some contend that zoos do not provide healthy habitats for animals. Enclosures–even when designed to mimic an animal’s natural habitat–are still not really natural. And, zoos can’t really provide the space that large or wide-ranging animals, like elephants, are used to. Due in part to unnatural enclosures, animals in zoos are under stress. Animals are often bored and, as a result, some become aggressive and can lash out at other animals or zookeepers. In a study done on 40 chimpanzees in six different zoos, all of the chimps exhibited behavior their counterparts in nature did not. Some of these behaviors included rocking back and forth, tearing out their hair, self-mutilation, and the drinking of their urine. This behavior is not seen in their wild counterparts suggesting that being in the zoo is causing these chimps to develop mental illness due to stress.

  • Yes and no

If animals have been born in captivity then they have basically been fucked. They can no longer be reintroduced to the wild since they will very much die. Zoo's should be open for one reason, too preserve species on the brink of extinction and to release and capture sick exotic animals. At no point should a healthy animal be taken from the environment it dwells in for the mere pleasure of a human to look at it for a few minutes then move on. For many species, contrary to popular belief, end up with shortened life spans thanks to being kept in captivity. So I think we all must see both sides. Animals with serious illness or disabilities that can no longer survive in the wild, such as Winter the dolphin, should be kept under the protective are of humans. However that should be the only time animals are kept in zoo's.

  • Animals should be kept in zoos

Keeping animals in zoos means that scientists can study the animals and learn more about how specific animals lives the type of food the animals needed and their natural habits I feel like learning everything is possible of saving animals and if we don't learn enough we might make the wrong choice

  • Zoos are not good for animals.

At czech zoo thre kids were abusing a flamingo. The story was so sad. I teared up a bit. Anyway, animals should run around and play. They should not be abused.THAT IS ANIMAL CRUELTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Zoos should be banned. So what if they kill people. Let them be free.

    Thanks for reading.

  • Animals are safer in zoos.

Animals are safer in zoos because if they get sick who will help them survive and stay alive? The zookeepers. Also if a animals is in a zoo it is much safer than in the wild. Zoos help take care of animals and help them live happily. They help animals survive. They make sure every animal is well fed and healthy. They help save hurt animals. They make sure animals live long.

  • Animals should go to nature.

    Animals should go to nature!!
I will telling you guys why,.
Hmm... There is so many people that say
"There species will be extinct if there gonna free!"
But many animals in zoos. The animal pyramid will be break.
And some species will be extinct and that animal's predator will be extinct and all species will extinct!!!!!

  • Yes, they save endangered species

I see where people go with the whole animals get abused and stuff but that is not always true, most zoos don't do that, they care for them and this is important, there are still places out their that do abuse animals but just because a few places do it don't mean they all do it

  • Yes I do think endangered animals should be kept in zoos

Do you think endangered animals should be kept in zoos? Yes, I do think endangered animals should be kept in zoos! Do you? Otherwise, endangered animals will be killed out in the wild, but in zoos, they are protected and nothing will be able kill them in zoos! Do you agree or disagree with me? Leave it in a comment!

  • It is good for animals to be kept in zoos.

Most animals die from illness or predators in the wild. But that can't happen in a zoo. For example, a cockatoo from Brookfield Zoo lived until 81. The average age for a cockatoo is 40-60 years old. Some animals not in zoos die before 1 year or before they are even hatched.

  • Save the ones that need to be saved.

I feel like animals who are going extinct, have a better chance of carrying on their species, if they are kept in a safe place like a zoo. If they are going extinct, and are kept in the wild, other animals and humans could potentially kill them off completely.
Maybe animals who have no problem in the wild, let them be in the wild. But, save the ones who need the help.

  • Torn in between

Yes, because they get fed, they are safe, in their "normal" habitat. Animals have plenty of benefits. The other side of me is saying no because they should have freedom just like humans, they should not be treated different. Also why would you want to have someone staring at you all day!

  • Yes, I support Zoos

I believe that there should still be zoos, but only holding animals that are not endangered. I do not agree with keeping endangered animals in the zoo. Besides that, you have to look at how the animals are getting treated fairly well and are getting free hand outs to food and shelter, so they don't have to do it themselves. Some animals struggle with that and that really helps them out. The animals are stuck in an enviroment, yes it is inclosed, but it they are similar to the actual habitat.
Kids need the expirence of seeing actual real animals while growing up. Some kids are visual learners.

  • Depending on Circumstances

I believe a zoo should be more of a rescue center. Injured or rare species should be held in very amazing conditions. No small cages, no people throwing peanuts at them, no missed feeding days, none of that. It should be a place where the animal feels natural and cared for. Marveling at species is delightful, I understand. However, certain people treat the animals horribly just to get a response from them. As long as people treat the animals with respect, I see no reason to discontinue zoos. (Unless they're poorly funded ones where the animals are being neglected or taken from their family)

  • Yes, with moderation

While I believe in allowing animals to be free and roam as they please, I also believe that animals should be kept in captivity because this is the only way that we are going to be able to save endangered animals by creating breeding programs that breed that animals and allow making more of them. This could also be looked at as a good way to learn about the animal and found out some interesting facts about them. Doing this you could take an endangered species and turn them into a thriving animal that has a whole community of the same kind of animal.

  • It's animal cruelty

Animals are taken their families and they are kept in captivity instead of running free and living life how they want like we do. These animals have done nothing to us humans to deserve to be "locked up" all day and night for as long as they live. Animals should be free.

  • Health for extinct

I believe that some animals are more than likely benefited by being there. Some animals in zoos are in danger in the wild. Being in zoos might mean safety and ease of food for some animals. Not only do these animals get free protection and free food, but they also receive crowds daily who love them.

  • Keeping Species Alive

Some may disagree with me but everyone at least went to the zoo when they were younger. Its not everyday that you go out on a day trip and see wild animals from Africa or Asia etc because those species are endangered and are hunted down. The zoo give the a place of security.

  • Food, hunger, dead

Animals are in the wild not eating right. They are eating dead disgusting animal meat and if there in the zoo they would eat fresh cooked meat and they would also eat all the vegies they will need .Sometimes they will eat wild plants and get sick or poisend . This is why i think they should stay in the zoo.

  • Zoos should exist!!!!!!!!!!!

I think we should keep zoos cause little kids can have favorite animals and kids can learn. We can't chuck them out and act like they don't exist cause well the do so act like they do exist, they can't feed them self
we should keep zoos ghelp me keep zoos

  • Depents on size

Animals in such a small cage as most city zoos are not alright, but where I live most zoos have gigantic habitats with one or multiple species. They get fed well and have some indoor space. One zoo for example has an huge biosphere creating a tropical environment for tropical birds and crocodiles. Also some of the animals are even saved from extinction. Most zoo's I know keep families together.

  • Yes we should keep animals in zoos

    1. The ‘wild’ is not an inherently safe place for animals. Neither is it free from human intervention. Poaching, habitat destruction etc. would cause extinction of animals without zoos
    2. Many zoos have breeding programs for endangered animals
    3. Zoos are highly regulated to meet animal welfare standards, for example, a good zoo provides an enriched habitat in which the animals are never bored, are well cared for and have plenty of space

  • I want my party there

Basically my title i really like my birthday to be at a zoo so i dont want them to be shut down cause i dont like jungle land just zoos for my party
Supporting Argument:47 More so yeah these last couple of words are here to fill the word cap

  • It saves species!

A zoo is the best place/way of saving endangered animals.
It would make it easier to find information about the animal and help us discover how to treat them when they are ill, Don't you want endangered species to survive? As well as this zoos would become more popular if they had rare animals and become more of a tourist attraction which would bring money into the economy.

  • Animals < Humans

I am sure my supporting headline stirs up anger for the opposition. But I did not write it just for reaction or to say I advocate animal cruelty. I am not really an animal person but I still believe owners are responsible for their general well being and zoos should have reasonable accommodations for animals. The zoos I have been to have had large open for wild life and any cages for smaller animals or birds really are more like gates sectioning off a part of the zoo; the size of the holding areas are extremely large compared to the animal that it definitely cannot be called a cage. There is no logical reason that animals should not be in zoos for humans entertainment so long as the animals are in good condition. The view where animals rights need to be the same as humans is one that I can only view as "extreme." We use animals for comfort, co-habitation, service, entertainment, and even nourishment. Some animals live in the wild, some live in homes, some work for the police, some work for the disabled or elderly, and some live in zoos. In any of these cases, if the animal is fed, given proper habitat, paid the needed attention, etc. then I don't see it as cruel to the animals. At some point we have to accept circumstances and the circle of life... Humans live in homes, prisons, cities, farms, streets, tribes, mansions, and all sorts of places and conditions but we are limited to Earth (for the time being.) The same goes for animals except when they are taken in by homes or zoos then there is an owner accepting responsibility. This is much like the relationship between parents and infants. Do we get mad at a parent for putting their children in cribs and making them sit in their own feces rather than letting them run around and use the bathroom where ever they like. The comparison isn't perfect but it expresses what I mean. This is the circle of life. Are zoos natural? No... But then again neither are a ton of things we have and do that aren't natural: Driving cars, building skyscrapers, using toilets to got to the bathroom, and so on and so on. My point with this ramble... Life is chaos and there are bigger battles to fight then whether or not animals should be in zoos and if it is considered animal prison.

  • I believe animals should be in zoos

When animals are in zoos they will stay healthier and they can be trained so they won't attack when you go to the zoo you see the animals and not get attacked which is a good thing plus animals won't get killed or poached which is also a good thing

  • A truly sick and disgusting form of entertainment

There is a deep moral and ethic aberration that is keeping animals in cages, pens or any other form of confinement while somehow taking pleasure in seeing majestic beasts slowly becoming insane.Whether there is extensive cruelty or not is not the issue just the act of imprisoning of a living being is extensive cruelty anyway the issue is even just looking at animals at zoos the depression and sorrow it causes for animal this has even been given a name zoochoais and is effects are devestating and this has been documented numerous times. Further there are far better alternatives like where my auntie lives in South Africa there a places called game parks which a protected pieces of land for wild animals which are more beneficial and interesting places to be for animals and humans. It's offers necessary protection which zoo aboligists often sight to in defense (for instance in one point the black or white rhino can't remember which nearly went extinct but because of introduced game parks the population expanded massively) while allowing animals to live freely and naturally. It is beneficial to humans because there is no comparison between seeing an elephant in a cage than seeing a Elephant in the wild(while of course being protected and safe by guards and armed response). Overall zoos are not a necessary or beneficial Operation and are just ghastly forms of commercial entertainment and oppression which equates to slavery and like slavery need to be abolished

  • If You Say No You Are Really Dumb

Animals that are living in captivity now might not survive and who ever lets one go would be being a big meanie to the poor animal!!! Who wants animals to die and plus a bigger chance of shooting on would came and so more animals would die!!!!!!
Those Who Say No Are Mean!!!!!!!!

  • Yes yes yes

I don't know why, but it is JUST a yes. I have no reasons to support too. I am just a random guy, in a random website slash page. DEABTE.ORG. But after this sentence, I will be out of here, right now, not really... I have 6 more words left

  • Animals shouldn't be in cages.

Every time I go to a zoo and I see animals locked up in cages It's like their in jail. I just feel so bad for them. How if they were in a fight with the same animal in the cage and the animal dies? So there is no point of keeping them in cages.

  • Animals shouldn't be in cages!

I feel like we should not keep animals in zoos! Why? Because every time I go to the zoo and I see animals locked up in cages It's like there in jail, and I feel so bad for them. How if you were in the same problem like these animals?

  • Zoos are a good opportunity for adults and young children

Zoos give the opportunity for everyone to look at interesting and endangered animals. Children should be allowed to see their favourite animals and learn about the animals. It also gives the opportunity to feed or touch them. And the most important thing is endangered animals are kept safe and happy

  • I think yes

Animals in captivity live with there friends and family. The habitat is almost exactly the same too. Animals wouldn't know if they were actually out in the wild or in a zoo. Also, if the animals run into any health problems, vets are right there to help them out. F g

  • Enter tain ment

Until recently, the existence of zoos in our society was never something which we thought twice about. Zoos were widely accepted as educational and entertaining institutions. Children, and adults, love seeing animals, and a visit to the zoo has always been something we look forward to. Gradually, however, discussion has aroused about the morality of keeping animals, and other creatures in captivity, as animals have rights such as we do. "There are around 430 zoos in Britain alone and 10,000 worldwide. Conditions vary greatly, with the worst being nothing more than concrete prisons holding very distressed animals." (Born Free Charity). This quotation shows the insensitivity of the proprietors of such establishments and gives us a clear picture of the conditions in which creatures are kept.

Rather than encouraging animals to thrive in natural settings, zoos place very unnatural boundaries on their residents. For example, in zoos, polar bears are usually confined to spaces that are only around one-millionth the size of their minimum home range in the wild. Animals who stray across large distances in nature often develop 'zoo chosis' in captivation which is similar to dementia in humans. Typical behaviours resulting from boredom and distress when placed in zoo enclosures, are endlessly pacing or swimming in circles. Animals have evolved from nature, just as humans, and each belongs undisturbed in its own natural habitat. To remove these animals from what they are used to against their will is immoral.

As humans, we must treat animals humanely in our role as "stewards of the earth." It is therefore unacceptable that animals in zoos under our care, are suffering from neglect and early death, through distress and health problems. In the wild, creatures such as the ones found in zoos are free to roam without restraint and interact with other species. Whereas, in captive conditions they are only able to mix with their own species, sometimes only being a few of each species. If these animals do not get on with the others in the enclosure, they have no way of escaping each other's company, and animals, like us, have personalities and forge friendships and rivalries. Furthermore, animals do not gain the necessary skills for survival in zoos and so will never be able to be reintroduced back into the wild and survive. Therefore they will have to live an enclosed, cramped lifestyle entirely dependent on humans who do not always care for them appropriately, for the entirety of their lives.

  • Cruel just for amusement

Many zoos are taking advantage of the fact ,that even though they are technically looking after rare and sometimes endangered species, they can still earn money. They charge people to look at the animals for amusement/entertainment, while the animals are stuck in a small spot that is not their natural environment and will never be the same. Also animals will not learn to survive nor hunt, meaning they will always rely someone to do something for them. They will never be able to experience the feeling to be free since the zoo enclosures are only a tiny fraction of the size of their natural habitat

  • No, we should not keep animals in the Zoo.

Animals need exercise, they need space to run more, to play more, and to be free. I think animals should be released back to the wild so the can be with their family again. Other people think differently, they think that the zoos are helping the animals but to the animals they think that we're just capturing them.

Like u know that zoos are so good fo like studing and stuf like yea boi ,and Barbara down the street was like keep ur soccer ball out of my lawn and then she tripped over and broke her arm and went to hospital and was treated for the flu.

  • Yes we should have zoos

Yes animals are keep in cages but animals are not going to go extinct. They keep animals healthy. And feed. Zoos also help us learn about animals in zoos. They give us a chance to see a animal we may never see for the rest of our life. Zoos are bad in ways but they are good in many more ways.

  • Lets go zoos!

People should have the right to see animals from around the world for field trips, learning, and for fun. Even if it doesn't seem right for them to be in a cage but it is to keep them safe from harm. So yes I want to have animals in zoos, yes!

  • Yes we should

E should cause is we left them in the wild they would have died anyways or maybe even sooner. Zoos make a lot of people happy I have an amazing time at the zoo. And I get if you say no, but that does not matter to me. I feel zoos are valuable.

  • To keep rare species

We need to keep animals in zoos so we can be interested in them and they are so many interesting animals you have so many to choose and y do we need to take them out they get food and water and visitors come to the zoo to see the animals and there why we need to keep animals in zoos

  • Some animals can't survive on there own

If there is a animal in the zoo it is hurt or it can not survive in the wild by its self.So u should not put it back.Or else there will not be no more of that animal.
Also if some species can't find mates then you should bring them to the zoo so they can find mates and make more of there species .

  • Zoos... A problem?!?

While zoos do provide safety and shelter I think we should replace them with No Kill wild animal rescues/shelters. It might not be the best for entertainment but if we keep the zoos as is then remove the stores and booths we can have a shelter/rescue with a natural habitat. Which wouldn't kill them and would still allow them to stay in contact with nature, it will save injured animals too! Then all that would be needed would be some determined and hard-working employes!

  • What If An

What if an animal is hurt like a tiger and it needs help and you find it are you going to help it or are you going to try to bring it to a hospital. It takes so long for the animal to heal then it forgets how to hunt for it's food you can't just let it go it will die. You need to take it to a zoo so they can put it with the other tigers so it can be fed and stay healthily.

  • Yes we should still have animals in zoos.

There are animals here that kids would not find them anywhere else, With out it, kids would never experience the awesome trip to see the animal. Also, some zoos (not all zoos) only take in the animals that are endangered and do captive breeding to increase the population of the animal, =)

  • We should keep zoos

Animals should be looked after because some animals are nearly extinct and if they were to die out then that would be the end of it. So if we were to put all the endangered animals in the zoos then they would not become extinct. Zoos I have to say are educational and fun for all ages. Keep the zoos help the endangered animals raise as much money as you can. Please help the zoos and the animals.

  • Animals will die

First of all we should keep zoos because there educational to kids and adults also it give the opportunity for scientists to get great research on trained animals that wont hurt them or wont be taken out of there habitat in the wild. So I think we should keep animals in zoos

  • Good Zoos ONLY

Have you ever wondered if animals in captivity is a good or bad thing for them? Animals have been in captivity for many years, probably as early as 15000 BC. Animals being in captivity is a good thing. Scientists can safely study the animal, zoos are a safe haven for endangered animals, and sick animals can be treated easier.
Scientists who want to study a certain animal can safely and easily study an animal that is in captivity. Research of an animal can save other animals from extinction. If a scientist studies an animal and finds that it's close to other species, then they can use the information given from the captured animal and save the other species. Studies of an animal can improve an animal's well being. The animal could have something wrong with their foot from sleeping on it funny because of the bedding, or a problem with bugs because of the location of their blankets.
Animal's who are endangered can be brought to a zoo, which is a safe haven for them. The Arabian Oryx was saved by the Phoenix Zoo. The Oryx was one declared extinct in the wild, but with zoos working on saving them, they went from endangered to threatened, and there are now they are living wild and free again. Animals being hunted for skin/ivory by poachers can safely live in a zoo. Although poaching is illegal of protected animals, they can be hunted anyways. Zoos can take in some of the animals, causing the animal to have a second chance at survival in the wild when they can be reintroduced.
Animals in captivity can be healed/treated quicker and easier than in the wild, where it might not heal/get better at all. Zoos, animal sanctuaries, and aquariums are a great place for sick/injured animals to rest. If a person sees an animal that needs help, they can bring it to any animal loving place, and they can help the animal, and release it back into the wild. Research can help animal medicine get more advanced and heal the animal quicker. If animal casts were causing irritation to certain animals, they can study the animal and see what’s causing the irritation, and fix it so that the next time an animal of the species can have the bone heal in peace. You could say that animal captivity is wrong, and the animals can use nature herbs to heal. If the animal was too weak to go look for herbs, people could step in and heal the animal, and it could go on with its life. If humans didn't step in, the animal could die because no one helped him/her with their injury/sickness.
Animals being in captivity is good for the animal population. Scientists who want to study a certain species can safely and quickly study the animal, zoos are a safe place for endangered animals to flourish, and injured/sick animals can be treated quickly and get better sooner.

  • Zoos are educational

Zoos provide learning opportunities for children. If a 3 year old has never seen a giraffe they can learn about them. They will be amazed by the sight. Also people help the animals survive. They provide food and water and shelter. Also hunters can kill the animals in the wild. In zoos they can't. That's why we should have zoos.

  • Animals in zoos

Animals teach us and we learn even though they don't live as long in zoos as cages but we still learn from them which helps us to say we want to work or need to learn about animals we always go to the nearest zoo and zoos really do help

  • Animals in zoos

  • We keep our pets in cages there size

Well you see you can find right and wrong in everything but this is just something im gonna have to agree on. I think we should keep animals in zoos because we do keep our dogs in cages that suit there size and most of the time we give our animals in cages that also suit there size in a way, and in a way i mean enough space for them to sleep in but not really roam freely in and that is what i wish and most people do too is that we give our animals enough space to roam and be free! But I think that if zoos can't provide that then they should not open.

  • Yas, duh! Of course they do!!!!

CUS FOR ONE THING, they need to be protected, and they need someone looking after them. In the wild, they are more likely to get attacked and killed. Also, they may get hunted by hunters for their fur or other certain qualities. ALSO they can grow their brains!!! YES, IT'S TRUE, JUST LIKE HUMANS!!!

  • Yes yes yes

Animals should not be kept in captivity because their freedom is taken away from them. Once animals are taken from the wild and are brought in to zoos, they never go back. Animals must stay there forever, until they die. They don't get to play with their mates and family. They never get the love and company of their fellow species. Just put yourself into an animal's perspective. Imagine you are an animal and were taken from your family. You never get to see them again, and you are forced to entertain humans to their amusement. You suffer from confinement, boredom, and stress. It is bad for animals to be kept in zoos, and it is wrong of people not to get the point that captivity is harmful.

  • Zoos save endangered animals

Zoos save endangered animals from extinction by leaving one in a special habitat and workers breed them so they don't become endangered when done they release the animals into the wild again
So don't say that zoos are cruel to all of the animals in the zoos so change your vote to say yes

  • We should keep them in zoos because a million reasons

Because the can help breed rare animals and ones like non typically in deer. Also They can also help them heal wounds and broken bones . People say that zoos is like prison. But it keeps animals from fighting and other animals hurting them. They also get feed and get watered daily.

  • Yes they should all of the animals!!!

I think that animals should be in zoos because:1.They will be behind glass but that is not bad because they are not being harmed and they will roam around and not be hunted by poachers, habitat loss and they would be separated from their family's if habitat loss would happen and also they would not be killed by predators in the wild.2.Also their species would be endangered because all of the predators killing them and hunting them.3.In a zoo they are kept captive, they would be feed, taken care of and also helped if injured.

  • Yes they should always

If the zoo doesnt then alot of animals will be instinct and a world with out animals is just a world with out animals plus the poachers willhunt them down to instinction and sell ivory lion fur and anything exotic from animals they sell and dye from all their predators

  • I think animals should be keep t in zoos

Zoos are using animals for study and scientific research there also saving them from being hunted because there are certain animals in the zoo that people hunt they could end up saving lots of animals plus zoos have been around for along time and even though they keep animals in zoos for scientific research it could turn out to save/improve wildlife

The aza's species survival plan program is a long term plan incorporates conservation of breeding preservation of habitat education and research to support the survival of threatened and endangered species

  • We should keep animals in Zoos

The reason why is because if your an elephant and you wer'nt in a Zoo how would you find food the same with monkeys they don't eat meat or people so how will they find food we should keep animals in zoos i think so as my classmates they think that aswel please keep them in Zoos

  • Animals should be kept in an open zoo

If they are endangered or sick/injured they can go to an open zoo to get better and get medical care.
For educational reasons. Zoos provide education and entertainment for children, they can experience the animals habitat and understand more with a close encounter.
Open zoos can also provide jobs and money.
Overall, animals should be kept in an open zoo for my stated reasons above.

  • Yes and no

I think we should keep endangered animals in zoos until number goes back up we could let them out In the wild. One reason would be that it would help keep Different species and let them live in the wild To.Another reason Would be the kids will be able to see the animals before they go extinct.Another would be that it would be educational for students and that they would be able to actually see animals in person. Endangered animals should stay in zoos until they are not endangered anymore.

Help the animals survive. If these animals are let go of they would cause chaos in the streets and would never be able to survive alone. If you want your kids to be able to safely enjoy animals then keep animals in zoos for human enjoyment an safety. Another reason is that if animals had babies there would be loads on the streets.

  • No they shouldn't

I think this because by putting animals in zoos it changes their behavior. On top of that they don't treat the animals well because they use the animals as a trade system. Another reason is that the animals may not get to meet other animals of their species. That is all.

  • I think yes

Endangered species are being brought into a safe place to live and get the right amount of food and are treated like they would be in the wild but is a lot safer for them. In zoos children aren't aloud to touch the animals for there own safety so it is safe for both children and animals

  • Zoos are awesome

I love to go to zoos with my family and friends.I also love to see the animals such as elephants and bears.Zoos also have tigers and seals and also in the winter there are penguins.People can also have a good time with their family at the zoo. This is why I love zoos.

  • Family time at zoos

Animals get a second chance to live and do not get hunted by people and other animals also the zoo keepers would take care of them and get them to a healthy state and they said if there is an animal that is going extinct and are going to breed them and release back to the wild

  • Zoos are good

They keep animals safe, sheltered and loved. We wouldn't get to see as many animals that we do see when we go to zoos, such as lions, tigers, penguins and other rare species. That's why we agree with the zoos being here for educational and learning reasons. We Love Zoos.

  • Yes, we should!

Keeping animals in zoos is beneficial in many ways to the environment and the community. First, it helps promote animal conservation. Knowledge acquired through research with animals with animals in public display facilities in tandem with field research is another fundamental contribution to animal conservation. The long term studies of animals in zoos provide scientists opportunities to measure contaminant exposure. Keeping animals in zoos can help preserve endangered species by keeping them out of the wild and protecting them from the dangers that may lie outside the barriers of zoos. While keeping animals in zoos, we are protecting them and contributing to animal conservation. Also, Keeping animals in zoos can really help educate the public about animals in general and endangered species. Members of these zoological institutes instill in those who visit an awareness of ecological conservation and conservation issues and a respect and caring for these animals and environments. Without zoos being public, nobody would really care about the animals and endangered species within them. Zoos help call attention to many ecological problems and address the public about them. Zoos are essential in our environment.

Let these poor animals free into the wild, they are just like us! They should not be kept in zoos, lets say the monkeys humans will not be on earth with out monkeys, they were the ones that showed us humans how to walk. Another animal might teach us a different thing that we don't know about! SET THE ANIMALS FREE!!!!

  • Zoo's are good for animals

Zoos are very good for the animals. Although you think that they take the animals into captivity they don't. The zoo in my hometown has beautiful housing systems for the animals. There are at least two animals of each species in each housing system. There is plenty of food and entertainment for each animal.

  • Animals in zoo live longer

In a recent study at Cambridge, proves that animal living zoo live longer than they would in the wild. A average lion lives for 17 years in the wild, but in the zoo the same species live for up to 22 years. The main reason for this is the foods being fed and the facility given to the animal.

  • Why animals should stay in the zoo

A lot of people know that some zoos do not take that much care of other zoos. But we do not just chuck animals out and expect them to survive themselves. Not to offend them but we should take care of them since we know how they live, and they need help. That is what Allah wanted us to do…….Take care of animals. They need help for survival, extinction, running out of food, and shelter.Think about it rare species would probably have been extinct by now if we did not put them in zoos by natural causes or more likely predators. We have no choice but for them to go in zoos because if animals die plants and food will be gone. And if plants and food are gone there will be no humans! It is just like one of the major theories why we think dinosaurs are extinct predators will kill all the preys, then there will be no predators cause no food.So if you want to put animals out of the zoo then they will die and then we will die.

  • Animals must be kept in zoos

It is but obvious that a tiger is safe in a zoo. Some of the people must be arguing but it's the that the zoo authorities take a good care of animals. They provide them with the food which is healthy for them. If they are left in the forests it would be same as giving an invitation to the extinction of tigers. To sum it all up tigers and all other animals must be kept in zoos for their safety

  • Not at alll

Animals need to be free and need food and water.I just hate it when i see animals in zoos.So i hope you listened to me OK.So animals souid not ever be in zoos.I hope it's the same for you.I hate it alot. Now bye to you and take care yay woo.

  • Keep animals in zoos

We should keep animals in zoo's because their habitat is destroyed and they will become extinct. But if we keep the animals in the zoo's, they will get a safe enviornment and the zoo keepers will provide them with food. Hi hi hi this is just to make this able to submit :D

  • They should be kept in zoos

They should be kept because we provide safety, food and sanctuary.
Not all but most should be in zoos. Many die from being hit by a car or being killed by a bigger wild animal. That is all I have to say. They should be saved and looked after for there own survival.

  • Habitat, family and life

They need to have a habitat and they need to be wild. They could be separated from their family and their animal groups. Their life was meant to be free and out. They have the right just like us. Zoos are taking away the animals for our entertainment. We are really selfish. Like imagine us in cages and a lion watching and petting us. I say that wild animals belong in freedom and liberty like us!

  • Yes we need zoos

Zoos are need because I said so. So for the most part, yes, I do agree that we should keep animals in zoos, or at least wildlife preserves

  • Animal should be in zoo

Animals are dying in the wild every year. Do you think animals should be kept in zoos? I believe animals should be in zoos because there are predators in the wild. Their food is getting harder to find. And their protection is lacking majorly. Animals deserve to live a happy good life. Animals are going extinct they need help and the zoo is where they will get it.

First, it said in the text, “In the wild there are predators but in the zoo there are no predators and then, the animals won’t be harmed so do you want them to die of predators or do you want them to live full and happy lives. So don't let them die because other animals.

Second, animals have shelter like us and the shelter protects them from diseases because in the wild no one can give them direct medical attention . But if they were in the zoo the zookeepers would try their hardest to cure the animals. Also, they would give direct medical attention to the animals that need it.

Last food, it said in the text,” their food is getting harder to find but for some animals they are dying slowly of hunger. But when they are in the zoo they won’t die of hunger because they get plenty of food plus the zookeepers keep them healthy by putting vitamins in the food that the animals eat.”

Some people might argue that the animals have food everywhere. Animals are protected because they in herds, packs, or by themselves. And they might say,” their protection is guaranteed.” Well that is not guaranteed because some predators hunt in packs, or herds as well. And only the predators are getting enough food because their prey is weak because they haven't ate for days. And their protection is not guaranteed.

These are reasons animals should be kept in zoos. Only for their well being. So in the future animals won’t be extinct like the mammoths. Put animals in the zoo you won’t regret it do you want to help the animals stay alive i know i do so join me and together we will save the animals.

  • Animals deserve to have a safe home and not be worry about having there next meal.

Some animals have problems finding there next meal like penguins they
have to go fishing so they can get food for there family. But why they are doing this they could be being watch by there worst enemies like
a killer whale or maybe even otters either way they have trouble finding food. Or maybe even the deer they aren't even in a zoo though they are being hunted every day like the lion, bears, and even us HUMANS. Now I'm not saying we shouldn't be able to hunt or anything like that I even hunt some. Im just trying to prove a point but either way you should put more animals in zoos so they don't have to hunt for food instead they'll have it in the front of there cage and also will be protected from other animals that prey on them. Have a heart and save the animals.

  • Humans are historically really good at making things go extinct

No matter how we legislate the law or make a preservation, whereas the poaching has not been stopped until now. Actually we can not protect them very well when they are living in the wild. The wall in the zoo is not a cage to strap wildness creatures, it is a protection to stop someone to kill them. In my point of view, zoos are the best place to prevent animals from extinction, before all the people know how to treat wildness animals properly.

  • Keeping animals in zoo is good

Keeping animals in zoo is good because animals that are injured in the forest can be taken care of in zoos. Many people cannot visit the forests to be see wild animals like tiger , lions and bears. Zoos are an easy way for people to see animals. Many zoos are made like the natural homes of animals. This makes it easier for animals to live there. Animals were in the wild they would have to take risks to have food and a tiger might attack but in zoo nothing like that would happen. Animals are out of zoo then they might eat other animals and people.

    We Should Have Zoos

    -Learning experiences
    -Money

claim We should have zoos. “Zoos are meant to help animals not hurt them. • Almost every big city has a zoo, is this the right place for animals to live?

Firstly I would like to make the point that it may be nice to go to the zoo, but is it right to keep animals locked up in cages, maybe we should be locked up in cages because we evolved from animals.

Secondly since they are out for show tourists could reach in through the bars of the cages and feed them, these tourists could think that they are feeding the animals the right things but these things that they are feeding the animals actually could damage the animals because they could be allergic, for example feeding lion a lion something that they are not supposed to have on their diet.

Thirdly the animals could be next to predictors which could scare them, but the zoo keeper might not know that this is a predator so the animal might go into hiding because it is scared that the predator might get into their cage and kill them.

The first benefit for having animals in a zoo is the animals will get treated for any diseases that they might have gotten from another animal in the zoo.

The second benefit they can breed in a safe environment if the zoo has a breeding programme.

The third and final benefit is that the zoo can protect endangered animals by putting them in a safe habitat and creating a breeding programme.

  • Is a city the right place to keep an animal.

Almost every big city has a zoo, is this the right place for animals to live?

  • Keeping animals in zoos is good

Keeping animals in zoo is good because they will not hurt each other , if animals were in the wild they would have to take risks to have food
and a tiger might attack but in zoo nothing like that would happen. Animals have their on special needs in every kind most people think they live cages but that is not true

  • Animals are safe from predators and starvation.

Animals are kept in zoos and kept safe from predators and starvation and habitat loss... They are well taken care for and not ill treated...In the Singapore zoo there is a lot of space for animals to roam around and they have the most beautiful park settings in the world....

  • They have food, Shelter, and loved

Well Zoos should be kept cause there was war and predators who killed lovely animals so my point is that if we did have zoos in the 1934 animals would be extinct eaten and harmed by predators or by bad people I get that your like why but the animals need us RIGHT NOW SO JUST SAY YES AND HELP THE ANIMALS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I totally agree with that animals should be kept in zoos.

People are arguing about this topic and I agree with it. Hey, everyone has their OWN opinions and we should respect it too! Anyway, let's get back to the topic. Zoos CAN keep endangered species from being shot or eaten. It is also a traditional thing, a wholesome family-bonding activity which is also educational at the same time. Keeping animals in zoos can help the people study and learn more about animals. Zoos can educate the public and also help to build up an appreciation towards the animals. You never know, maybe someday the people can find a cure for some sickness because of studying animals' body structure etc. Animals can live safely without any fear at all and they can live comfortably too. Okay, maybe some of the zoos DONT take care of the animals but NOT ALL of them are! Again, this is just my opinion and I try to learn to respect and accept other's opinions so I hope the people can also do it.

  • Animals in zoos

I bevileve that animals should be in zoos for protection and education purposes for the children and the animals at the sqme exact time. Also because they are more safe which means that more and more species a day will not become extinct. Take the advice from a zookeeper please.

  • In zoos not cages

Zoos keep animals from becoming extinct. You can’t just throw animals into nature from a zoo and think they’ll instantly think they are going to get feed by some one
A good number of animals exist in captivity so they can live.
People also learn from zoo’s too. They learn in our formal classes, lectures, camps, teacher workshops, distance learning, zoo tours, overnights and outreach programs. At the Saint Louis Zoo, about 450,000 children and adults participate in our formal programs, including classes and Camp KangaZoo each year. And of our 3,000,000 visitors annually, about 1.3 million interact with an educational interpreter, docent or zookeeper who provides educational experiences and information.
We should because It will keep the rare species alive and if we didn't have zoos some if those animals would be extinct right now!!! Seriously people who say no, I get your point but think about it! A thousand animals might have or probably would have died because of natural causes or more likely predators!Families matter! Zoos are a place where families can have unique experiences together every time they visit. Today's families are more conscious than ever of the need to teach their children about the natural world and respect for living creatures.People make an emotional connection with animals at zoos that can last a lifetime. About 21% of the world's mammal species, about 12% of the bird species and about 33% of all amphibian species are threatened with extinction.

I think we should keep (endangered or harmed ) animals in zoos to repopulate and become fit and healthy and then release them back into the wild again but keep a track on them so we know how they are doing. I do also think it is unfair to keep them in cramped conditions.

  • We need to save lives!!!!!!!!!

We need to keep animals in zoos because we need to keep them safe. A lot of the animals in the zoo are endangered species and they would be dead right now if we did not keep them in zoos. The zoos provide protection from predators and food so they don`t go long distances to get food. Who knows if the farther the distance they travel the more they die of thirst and hunger because of them trying to find food.

Our planet is facing tremendous challenges with climate change, habitat loss, and loss of biodiversity, to name just a few. Humans will need to change their ways to save the planet, and that will only happen through engagement and education. No institution is better situated to make this happen than zoos.

  • Some species would be extinct today if it weren't for zoos.

I understand how people think that the animals freedom is being taken away, however the well-being of the animal is something that people dedicate their lives to and the animals are given enclosures (not cages) that are close to identical to their natural habitat. The chance of that animal contracting a disease or being preyed upon almost disappears completely. Animals are 100% safe in zoos and not only are they living their life as stress free as we can make it, they are also helping their own species from extinction off the face of the Earth. If it weren't for zoos some species would be extinct, gone, wiped out... Most probably by us.

  • You want to get out of your cage (jail)

I don't think that we should keep animals in zoos because they need to be free and not be kept in cages, and in my opinion the animals in zoos are put in danger. Put yourself in their shoes. How would you like it if you got taken from your habitat and family and got put in a "jail." Even if they are endangered, that doesn't mean you have to take them into a zoo. Sometimes if animals get too stressed they could die because of it. So if you take animals in you might put too much stress on them. In all, I think zoos are interesting but they need to make a lot of changes.

  • Animals Should Stay In Zoos

I can understand the arguments used for why they should be released from zoos but in the zoos they are way more safer.
The main reason why is due to the fact they are safer in zoos. If they were released they'd be prone to poachers, wild predators, starvation etc. They are safer in zoos and especially when the species is near extinction.
Of course they may be enclosed in a small space and that may be seen as unfair and cruel but it's either that or they live a more dangerous and shorter life.

  • Animals should live in zoos

Animals are safe in zoos. They have food, water and protection. In the wild animals would have to hunt for their own food and water. People hunt them when they are in the wild for dinner and so that the species become extinct. At zoos there are guards that stay their every single night to make sure nothing happens to the animals. Have you heard the story about the Mum Elephant who gave birth to a sick baby? Well the zoo looked after the baby and made sure she had enough to eat and drink. The baby is now living healthy. If the calf was born in the wild, no one would know she needs help. The calf would probably die.

  • Zoos can be used for educational purposes

Zoos are more than just prisons for animals. They are used to help educate people about the harms these animals face in the wild due to human's impact on their environment. Credited zoos by AZA maintain living standards for these animals and can help protect them to keep their species alive. AZA zoos have partnerships in the wild to help further protect these species and to help them strive in the future. Zoos are beneficial, not detrimental.

They should not be put in captivity because animals have the agsact right as human beans and they need to be with there family's and friends . So that is why we do not keep animals in captivity and and we must not make huma or laugh at the animals

  • Yes, think about the endangered species

In Zoos animals meet people and people meet animals, these animals are mainly protected and even endangered species, if we were to stop zoos then it could put these animals at risk from extinction through poaching, disease, and predators. To add by people meeting the animals it gives them a chance to learn about them and also learn how to protect them

Yes we all have or no someone who has a pet do we class that as bad no but yet puppies get separated from there brothers sisters and mothers when there a couple of months old, but yet we class animals kept in zoos as wrong I say rare animals should be in zoo's away from danger of being killed in any zoo's I have been in the tigers and big cats have been in a big space with 3 or more tigers and what about the people abroad they keep them as pets and snakes are meant to be wild yet we can keep then in tanks same with fish so honestly we are keeping them safe they are still with there own kind but they get fed everyday and looked after soo yes in my opinion zoo's are good for animals what are in trouble as the only animals what go into zoo's are the ones what were in trouble out in the wild

  • Animals should be kept in zoos

Animals should be kept in zoos because they get provided with everything they need e.G medical care ,food, shelter etc. Where as in the wild there is no one there to help them if they get hurt. Yes I do agree with the fact that the animals need freedom, but if we let the animals wander around in the wild then they will anyways be endangered. Just think at these poor animals being killed just for its fur, meat etc. if we keep the animals in zoos it is highly unlikely that the animals will get killed in fact they get treated nicely. So the question remains is it right to let ´the animals have freedom but get killed instead?

  • It's More Then Fun

    Zoo debate
Kid’s education, family times and entertainment from my opening sentence I think you can guess that I am fully for having animals in zoos.

I have a very positive attitude to zoos because zoos save animals with endangered species. The animals have a safe environment. Therefor they are protected from poachers, habitat loss, starvation and predators. They are breeding animals and they have breeding programs for the animals.

I feel very strongly about the enriched habitat that animals can live in. Zoos have a better home and habitat for the animals. Inside zoos provide shelter, healthcare, ventilation, fencing, food and water. When the animals were in the wild they wouldn’t have any of these values.

Zoos have, and are a tradition. Every year at the Auckland zoo they celebrate Christmas and have a big animal party when anyone can come and whoever does come gets to dress up any animal that there is in existence. Zoos provide education for the young and sometimes the elderly, excitement and entertainment.

In conclusion I state my decision that animals should be in zoos for health and safety.

  • The Great Zoo Debate!

In the world there are thousands of endangered species and zoos are the only hope of stopping the species from getting extinct, and zoos are also increasing the population of endangered species etc gorillas and tigers. Therefore I am defiantly for zoos.
Zoos are great because their animals are safe in their enclosures from predators. Zoos also feed the animals so they don’t starve because they feed them but etc for tigers they drop the food into trees so the tigers have to work to get their food just like in the wild. The other reason why animals should live in zoos is because poachers can’t get to them in their safe enclosures. Poachers are bad because they shoot endangered animals etc giraffes, elephants and lions just for their head or skins or tusks etc etc. Thousands of endangered species die each year because of these hazards.
Zoos can bread endangered to raise the population and can treat the sick animals with care but in the wild the animal would probably die. Zoos are also good because children can see animals that are endangered and would not see them if it were not for zoos. Scientist can figure out some animal patterns.
So now hopefully I have changed your mind about zoos if you were on the other side and I think that animals should be defiantly be kept in zoos because they save lives every single day!!

  • I say Yes to animals being in zoos!

In the world there are thousands of endangered animal species. Every year zoos breed more animals and stop them from getting extinct. Therefore I am definitely for zoos.
Zoos are able to breed animals and save them from extinction. They can also protect and care for the sick animals and new born babies. Zoos are safe places where animals can play in massive spaces.
In the wild animals face many dangers such as poachers, habitat loss, predators, hunters and poison. Millions of animals die each year because of these threats. In zoos however animals can roam freely without the constant danger of being killed.
Scientists are able to go to zoos to see animal patterns and learn how to save animals from things like disease and other issues in this category. Zoos can also educate children and teach people about animals.
I am definitely for zoos because they could save animals from extinction.

  • Zoos save animals

Enriched, cared for and a huge amount of space. Zoos protect and care for animals that's why zoos should never be closed down. Do you really want zoos to go without them animals would become extinct. People forget the good zoos do without them there would be a lot less living creatures today.

In a safer environment the zoo has a lot more safety and health for the animals. There are no predators in their enclosure which means they are more likely to survive. The zoo feeds them well and knows what the animals need. They won't suffer from habitat loss, poachers and starvation like they would in the wild.

You think that there are alot of endangered species but imagine what it would be like with out zoos. In the wild they are unprotected but in zoos they are in a safe environment where they would never worry. Zoos help animals in many ways.

At the zoo the animals get loved. When people see animals they get motivated to protect some of the most endangered species. Animals educate the public and get rewarded with love.

Zoos give animals an amazing life and why would you want to change that.

  • Zoo are keeping animals from doing what they do best

Animals should protect, yes that's true. But at least in a reserve where they are in the wild and they do nature has created them to do. They should be protected from us , humans especially because we are the cause of why they are endangered and close to extinction. If we want to protect them then we should keep them in a reserve and just have 24/7 world wide watch on them. Making sure they are safe but in there natural environment

  • Animals Should Be Kept In Zoos

I strongly believe that all animals should be kept in zoos and I am going to persuade you to agree with my reasons why we should keep all animals in safari parks or zoos.
My first reason why we should keep animals in zoos is that it is for their safety and there protection from their immortal predators. Zoos provide a safe and caring environment to the long lost animals in need of extra help.
The zoos educate and they help the awareness across all humans to save the ones that are becoming very extinct such as the silverback gorillas. It motivates people to stop poaching and start saving. Zoos also foster a great appreciation and caring environment to all the animals.
It is for their health and safety and zoos prevent a safe and healthy enclosure. Zoos provide health to all the animals so they don’t starve or catch any type of disease. They also save animals from habitat loss.
66% people say animals should be free in the wild but I totally, strongly disagree.

  • It is not good at all

It is much easier to find a zoo where animals are harassed and abused than to find a zoo which treats its animals with the respect they deserve. Besides humans cannot yet understand, much less simulate, the complicated array of social stimuli and their physiological effects in the wild.
Magnificent beasts that would ideally roam miles upon miles of terrain, are kept imprisoned in cramped enclosure with a few shrubs and trees. Anyone with any modest degree of empathy should realize that it is not the same thing.
The mind-numbing conditions in various zoos around the world result in animals starving themselves, contracting diseases (physical and mental) and some of them even resort to self-harm and ultimately dying of infections.
No amount of human convenience justifies or necessitates suffering like this.

  • Animals need help !!

Animals outside of zoos are in bigger risk of death because of poachers around the world. Poachers kill the animals for money. But if we keep the endangered animals we as a society can nurture them and give them the safe place that animals need.I fully understand that we are invading their privacy but would you rather be safe or have privacy? The descion is yours please make it the right one .FOR THE ANIMALS !! :)

  • Yes we should

Kids love zoos if we take away all the animals were would little kids go for their birthday and for petting zoos the little kids couldn't see or pet any animals what a disappointment for them this is why i think we should keep zoos and other places like that

  • We are jailers

Yes keep them in zoos, we keep us in prisons. Same thing. Your all saying every animal should be kept in zoos. Remember that when your relative is in prison. It is the same thing, We are animals too. Remember that. Please Remember that for the ages to come, do ordain.

The should be enclosed because they could be endangered and some one might try to hurt or even kidnap a baby animal . Especially when they have kids and the child said mommy or daddy i want that one , what if they take it home and not know that they are kidnapping the animal

  • Animals should stay in zoos

They are bred so all of those nearly extinct get back to the top so the zoos actually help animals and give happiness to kids. If think they are being locked up than you are wrong because they get a new habitat with windows so that people can see them in their peaceful form

  • Zoos and endangered species

I have seen many different tpes of zoos and in my life time I have seen them change from the horrible cement cages to beautiful places. I have seen the animals change from those clearly exhibiting signs of stress and boredom to being relaxed where they are able to interact and form close bonds. Are they good thing clearly the best place for any animal is in its natural habitat but as humans destroy more and more land for our own purpose I would hate to seen animals become extinct because of our stupidity. Many animals are being brought back from being endangered because of zoos around the world that run responsible breeding programs - as long as these animals are in areas that resemble as closely as possible their natural habitat then i would say its a good thing. Ideally the next step for some of these zoos is to follow the long but rewarding road that we are seeing happen with the Orangutan - being released slowly back iwhere they belong - Zoos and the need for them is a double edge sword but until humans grow up, stop wanting to destroy vital habitats or placing these creatures on their walls as trophies zoos and the need for them will remain

  • It keeps them from extinction

Most of da animals would be dead if it weren't for zoos and animal sanctuaries. I bet all of the people who said no will have been to a zoo at some point in their lief and enjoyed it. Also it helps us to research the animals and how they work and behave

  • Animals being in Zoos can cause Zoochosis

Many people are saying yes because they say that the zoo protects the animals. Even if they do animals can still suffer from a disease called Zoochosis. Animals can feel lonely and bored in their cages this can cause Zoochosis. Some of the symptoms of Zoochosis are: vomiting, swaying, neck-twisting, and much more. Because of that and many more reasons animals shouldn't' be kept in zoos. Thank you for reading.

  • Yes we should

If we don't have animals in the zoo then we wouldn't have any red pandas or any of those endangered animals and poachers would be illegally catching animals and selling then to bad people. Also if we let the animals free, how would they know how to fend for themselves. So there for I believe that we should keep animals in the zoo.

  • Its not fair

Think about it yourself, you would not want to be in a place that is so cramped. Animals need their own freedom. Humans would go crazy if they were told that they could not come out of their houses. It is not right that they have to be tested on.

  • No we should not keep animals in zoos

We should not keep them because of the environment outside the world. Animals need to live by them selves and he independent and be like animals. What if an animals get injured, well they need to know how to live. It's nature, predator eats prey, the prey eats prey. Example: the predator eats a prey. Well before the predator ate the prey, the prey eats prey.

  • Yes we should have animals kept in zoos.

We want the animals to be safe and the wilderness is not really a good idea. Zoos are full of education about animals and are very helpful to us. Animals need help because they don't want to be eaten by predators or get sick and die because they had no medication.

  • They are in a prison for animals

I do not think putting animals i cages is not right. I believe that animals should be in the wild. They will be able to live free. Look at it this way how would you like be put in a cage then displayed for people to see. But some times when there are born in captivity its good for them to stay in a zoo. Thank you

The animals need to learn how to live on there own and become a animal and how to survive. They can become hurt and sad in the zoo when they are away from their mothers and there family members in the wild.So please help the animals and stop zoos forever!!

Yeah guys, I've seen the yulin festival in China. It's fuc*ed up! That's why the animals need to provide proper care and tender love. Not hatred and violence! I have 2 cats at home and If anyone abuses them in any way, I'd cut their throats! Much luv animals <3

  • Animals should be kept in zoos

The animals are well trained in zoos and aquariums. The animals have no way to harm or kill a person. In the wild animals are free to kill or injure a human.
Another reason why animals should be held in captivity is that the animal can be killed or captured for certain body pats such as a lion's fur.

  • Yes we should have zoos in the world

They can die and get hurt but at the zoo the zoo people can fix it and they will not die. They have to find food there at the zoo they just get food . They do not have to worry about dying when they are trying to find food . Or they do not have to worry about dying .So all i won't to say is if u wont all animals to die by the lions and stuff

  • Zoos are good because........

Zoos help stop animals from dying off and also give them a safe environment and it can help to stop poaching. A lot of the time smaller animals are more at risk than larger animals most of the time it the larger animals that are the pray by seperating them it can stop as many animals from dying off.

  • Zoo ooo oooo

If there is the natural zoo, human couldn’t use the lands efficiently. In the world, we have a lot of people that are dieing because of the food. If humans want to make a big sugar-cane farm to provide food to the poor, and if there is a big natural zoo that is being an obstacle to make a suger-cane farm because of its size, what do we choose? Zoo or people? Do we have to kill the people only because of the animals?

  • It is really important to keep animals in zoos because,

It is for the animals sake. Think about it if animals weren't put in zoos don't you think they would be extinct by now. Well in my opinion zoos protect the rare animals and they provide food and shelter for them, also zoo keepers take good care of the animals and keep them safe and they look after them.

  • Keep them here

We will never get to see any animals? What else would we do without a Zoo? Zoos also protect animals. Then humans will already think animals are extinct. Everything is perfect just the way it is. In the wild other animals are killed. Then all the good animals would be gone.

  • Zoos Should Stay

So much better if it is not the same thing to say it was the best of the day before I get a follow back on my way home from work to be the first half of the year and I don't think that I have a great way of the year and I don't think that I have a great way of the day before I get a follow back on my way.

  • Zoos have always been places for leisure and entertainment.

Today, zoos are not only a places of entertainment, but also a places of education. Zoos are an important place for agritainment. Some zoos even allow children to touch the animals. This meaningful experiences will stimulate them with the need to better protect animals and nature. So i think we need zoo.

  • We should Keep Animals In Zoos

I think that we should keep animals in zoos because if we didn't, every person who relies on the money coming from the zoos would be gone. Zoos are always trying to improve the life of the animals. And have you noticed that at every zoo always have those little donation boxes to try to help save endangered animals.

No, because animals are stuck in captived and in captvied they don t live as long as in the wild. They also get took from their family or herd or cubs, pups, eggs, and calves. That's why I think they shoudn t be in zoos. That's why I think they shouldn t

  • I Think Zoos Should Not Go Down In The Dumps

Not all animals in zoos are kept perfectly, but there is still room for improvements. Zoos carry out conservation, they rescue animals, they educate people and thrill millions of visitors each year. Zoos are a place where families can have remarkable experiences together every time they visit.

    Boom ROASTED!!
    Dr. Lambert II

  • Yes I agree

Though I agree that it over 45 percent of wildlife die prematurely in zoos they are still in a safer environment. Out in the wild baby elephants are separated from their mothers at a young age. This could be from lack of food, temperature, or hunting. Animal skins and ivory are valuable in the black market animal trading ring that is secretly ran in the undergrounds of our most exotic nations. But at least in a zoo they get food and don't have to worry about moving from shelter to shelter like a nomadic tribe. Animals are not a fur rug that most people could care less about and just walk all over. And if you want them to be safe outside of the zoos then stop using their homes as giant waste baskets.

  • Injured animals need sanctuaries in zoos.

You can't expect injured animals to continue living in the wild! I mean, seriously? They need sanctuaries where they can be safe! Especially if they're an endangered species! I don't want endangered animals like pandas to die off and go extinct! If pandas die, so will Panda Express, and if Panda Express dies, I die! But seriously, pandas are one of my favorite animals! Especially Purple Pandas!

  • It is safe

Zoo take care of the animals from different kind of parts of the world and they save the animal lifes and they protect them from the wild and they feed the animals heathly food and they give them water and they made a nice beautiful places to keep them safe so thet is what i think that zoos take care of animals that needs help or if animals legs is broken

  • Zoo's are BAD

In my opinion I think Zoo's are great but if you think of it there are many more reasons Zoo's are bad then good. First of all animals are kept in cages. Would you like it if you were in a cage? It's like being in a prison. Animals would get the same quality of food that inmates in prisons would have. Further more is that they can be abused (getting whipped to do something). Lastly they are taken from their families and future lives. Hope you like it!!!!!!

  • Yes because of safety and conservation for animals

In addition, Zoos teach people about animals people may not normally see, or learn about, or even see again. By doing this, Zoos can raise awareness about animals, and their troubles in the wild. Zoos can also educate people about these animals, so people know what the problem is so they can help. All of these things can help with further conservation in the future. For example, Pros and Cons of Zoos from Buzzle says: “Students can study about different kinds of wild animals without having to travel to far off places. Zoos are in fact, trying to make people aware of environmental problems.” Some other things Zoos do that help with conservation of animals are, captive breeding programs, saving animals that are hurt, sick, abandoned, poached ect, and preserving animals that have decreased in number.

To begin with, we should have Zoos because, Zoos allow researchers to study animals in Zoos, to develop medications to help these, and other, animals in the future. Zoos give medical care to animals, that for some reason, do not normally get it. Zoos also have committed Zookeepers, who are willing to help in a state of emergency. Zoos: the Historical Debate from Globalanimal.Org says: “In 2002, zoos across the globe participated in over 2,230 research and conservation projects. The information gathered from these projects, helped Zoos to develop medications, and techniques that helped to improve animal health.”

  • All animals have a soul and that soul is meant to be free as are they and holding them in captivity does not help this.

If we were to keep every animal in a zoo there would be no animals to watch peacefully from a tree on roam the pride lands to look for and because many animals are in zoo world animal population is dying because of the captivity and this is not good.

  • It's Okay, as long as the animals were raised in captivity.

Animals that are in the wild have the right to stay in the wild, we shouldn't be capturing any more then we need to reproduce in zoo's. What should be done is we capture some young animals from the wild, have them grow up, and reproduce that species in the zoo. This way, we won't have animals acting from natural instincts and being aggressive. Also, this animals won't miss the freedom of being in the wild. "You can't miss something you never had," after all
