Single-payer universal health care: Is the price to the individual taxpayer significantly lower?

  • Single Payer is the cheapest route

Single Payer health insurance, like the system used in Canada and Taiwan, has proven without a doubt to be the most sensible, both economically and ethically, of the health care systems available to the United States. Vermont is going to be the first state to test a single payer system.

  • No, there is no efficiency.

No, single-payer universal health care is not less expensive to the individual taxpayer, because the costs of universal health care are higher when there is no competition. Without competition, there is no reason to offer a high-quality product. These are the same people who run the DMV, and now we are going to let them make life and death decisions? For shame.
