Trump doesn't support the climate change theories: Will his presidency have a negative impact on the environment?

  • Yes it will.

Simply read his position about energy on his website, "Unleash America’s $50 trillion in untapped shale, oil, and natural gas reserves, plus hundreds of years in clean coal reserves."
Sound's great for near future, horrible for long term future. Trump doesn't want to hear about clean energy or cooperation with other countries about climate. His only interest is the wealth of the country...

  • Yes it will.

Trump said "The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive." unfortunately if taken seriously his tweet shows us that he believes Global Warming is a concept beneficial to the Chinese. If he can openly support such concepts as president then it may encourage his supporters to do the same, which in turn may have a negative impact on global warming as less people will attempt to do something about it. People tend to follow the example set by the leader and at the moment he doesn't seem to be setting a very good example.

  • Yes, the Trump presidency will likely have a negative impact on the environment.

Yes, the Trump presidency will likely have a negative impact on the environment. Not only does he not believe in climate change, but he has financial interests in many companies that are detrimental to the environment, such as the pipeline. Trump's lack of concern for the environment will also lead citizens to lose concern. It's a bad day for the environment.

  • Yes, it will.

Climate change theories are not theories in the same sense that most people think of theories. They are proven and tested, and can only be disproven. Trump and his cronies are going to run the country into the ground unless we find a way to protect the earth from whatever damage they do.

  • No it will not.

Even if Trump does not support the climate change theories, this will have no impact on the climate change or rather the environment. Therefore, his presidency will not have any impact on the environment, whether it is positive or negative. We just have to understand that climate is a natural occurrence.

  • No, Trump's presidency will not affect the environment any more than if another candidate had won.

While I do fear climate change and I know at this point Donald Trump does not, I do not think that will affect what is going to happen to the environment any more than if another person had been elected. Trump is intelligent enough to recognize when to jump in and act if it becomes crucial.
